Inter Miami owner David Beckham chills out by making honey and tending chickens

David Beckham says he needs chickens, bees and dogs in the remote countryside to chill out from his hectic work schedule.

The ex-England ace says his Cotswolds estate is his “happy place” which helps him to switch off. The football team franchise owner, model, brand ambassador and fashion entrepreneur, 48, adores prepping the food to hang with his family at their lavish pad.

He reflected on his “significant place” being “the English countryside” The former Manchester United star said: “It is my happy place. Where I live is a place where I can walk around with my dogs, make my honey, tend to my chickens, (and) have quiet moments with my kids, wife and family.

“It is the place where I am happiest And that is coming from an East End boy that grew up in the city and has always lived in cities. There is something about the countryside that I have always loved.

“As a young kid I lived in Leytonstone, but I always loved it when I was in Epping Forest riding my BMX. So I have always loved the countryside.”

He added: “That is the place where I go on a Friday morning, I leave the office early and drive down and spend a couple of hours pottering around. And then when Victoria and the kids come down at about five o’clock in the evening, dinner is ready, fires are on, dogs are running around and it is just a peaceful place for us.

“And I need that, because I am so busy. I travel so much and I need a place where I can just sit and relax.” He said that he wants his legacy to be as a football icon – not as a business mogul. celebrity brand ambassador or underwear model.
