Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has been involved in a number of jaw-dropping storylines ever since she appeared on the famous cobbles in 1986.
Playing the role of Jenny Connor, the character has been known for her turbulent love life and often hysterical outbursts. In more recent scenes, Jenny has been trying to rebuild her life after discovering her fiance was a serial killer.
After discovering the truth about Stephen’s murders, he later tried to hold Jenny hostage. But landlady Jenny had a lucky escape when Peter Barlow mowed down Stephen outside the pub.

Despite her disruptive life on screen, actress Sally lives a much more calmer life with her husband Nicholas Rhodes. Daily Star has taken a look inside her love life away from the show.
Husband revealed

Corrie actress Sally is married to barrister Nicholas Rhodes KC. The pair tied the knot in 1999. On his website, Nicholas has been described as a “highly regarded advocate experienced in business and regulatory crime, specialising in serious commercial fraud, bribery and corruption, financial crime.”
But away from work, Nicholas who has been married for 22 years to Sally spends a lot of time with her and their sons. Sally has shared many snaps online of herself along with Nicholas enjoying time on their boat. In August 2023, Sally shared a snap of Nicholas on the boat and captioned the snap, “and here’s my chef”.
Secret wedding

Nicholas and Sally had a secret ceremony after the birth of her son James. She told Kate Thornton on White Wine Question Time: Basically, I never wanted to get married, ever. I wanted to be with somebody and for me the decision to have a child was a much bigger commitment.”
“So we decided that we would start a family and we did. Then as soon as James was born, I kind of went: ‘Oh I want the same name as everybody else’. So all right, ‘I’ll marry you now but I don’t want a fuss and you’re rubbish at remembering dates. So we’ll get married on my birthday at James’s christening’. So that’s what we did. Every year on my birthday I forget it’s also my wedding anniversary!”
Explaining how it all took place, she said: “We had the christening and then we were at the reception. My best friend and I ducked out, did a quick change and called my dad to the back of the room. He sees me in a wedding dress, loses the use of his arms and legs and I went: ‘Dad, pull yourself together’.”

Nicholas and Sally share two children, Louis and James. However, the two lads are rarely seen. Last year, proud mum Sally shared snaps of Louis when he graduated from university. Sharing a snap of Louis in his graduate attire Sally and Nicholas was all smile in the adorable snap.
Captioning the photo, she wrote:”Very proud mum klaxon. Congratulations @louis.rhodes Xxx”. And the soap star’s Corrie colleagues, fans and followers were quick to comment and congratulate him.
