Lorraine Kelly has thanked viewers for their continued support in the “saddest” moment of the 2023 following the death of their producer Hannah Hawkins.
The ITV digital producer passed away back in November at the age of 33 just months after she gave birth to her first child Rory. She was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time while she was pregnant with her son.
Just two months after her passing, the Scottish TV presenter has re-shared her story in an effort to spread some love to families struggling over the festive period. Alongside a video of the broadcaster sharing the devastating news on the show, the daytime program shared their well wishes to their loyal fans online.

They wrote: “We cannot thank everyone enough for watching our beautiful Producer Hannah’s story. This video was our most watched of the year.

“Hannah Hawkins died this year after discovering her breast cancer had returned only a few months after she gave birth to her son Rory. This is a reminder that whilst the holidays and New Year’s Eve are times to celebrate, for many it can be a time of great hardship.
“Hug the ones you love and cherish the memories you will create this 2024 #Lorraine.” Famous friends and loyal fans showered the post with support online immediately after posting.
Lorraine commented: “By far the saddest event of 2023. Thoughts with Tom and everyone who loved our Hannah.” Hannah’s husband echoed; “While our lives were shattered in 2023, she taught us all so much and left us with her greatest gift, our little boy [heart emoji].”

Another user echoed: “Aw bless her may she rest in peace. God protect her family at this sad time”. A third agreed: “I worked with Hannah a number of years ago and I can’t believe I’m ready this [heartbroken emoji] sending lots of love to her family.”
At the time, the Scottish TV presenter, 63, shared the social media post by Hannah’s husband Tom which confirmed that she had died on November 3. His post read: “Hannah Hawkins 11.12.89 – 2.11.23.
“For someone whose love language was gift giving, leaving us the day before my birthday was really not the one. I wish you’d kept the receipt.

“There is no way I can pay tribute to sum you up in one post. In fact I could write an essay on how unfair this is. That you miss out on seeing Rory grow up, that he won’t be able to feel the love of his mum, and that this terrible illness took hold so quickly.
“But that’s not how you saw it. The remarkable person that you were, the phrase you used so many times over the last few weeks – and it set me off every time: ‘I’m so at peace with the life I’ve lived’ is something we can all admire’.
“The fact that right until the end you were putting others’ feelings first and making us all laugh was just you to a tee.” Speaking about their son Rory, Tom added: “Your life can be defined simply by love, friendship and strength and I’ll make sure these are cornerstones of Rory’s life.

“I want him to know how much everyone loved his mum, and how much love you gave. How you would say to me in any of my dark moments, ‘remember you are so loved’.
“I want him to know that you were someone who could walk into a room of strangers and come out having made friends for life, and that our social calendar was always so full we physically couldn’t fit in everyone we wanted to see. I also want him to know the bravery you showed every day, facing into anything life threw at you with strength of a warrior, a smile on your face and laughter in your eyes.
The post ended with: “This legacy you leave for our little boy, this and so much more. Thank you for 13 amazing years. Even brighter than the moon.”
