K-Pop star Park Bo Ram dies aged 30 as police investigate cause of death

K-Pop singer Park Bo Ram has tragically passed away at the tender age of 30, leaving fans and the music world in mourning.

The star, who shot to fame a decade ago, was discovered unresponsive at a friend’s place, sparking a police probe into the circumstances surrounding her death. Xanadu Entertainment, Park Bo Ram’s agency, broke the heart-wrenching news with a statement: “Park Bo Ram suddenly left us in the late evening of April 11.”

The agency further expressed their sorrow to All K-Pop, saying: “Our hearts are deeply troubled as we deliver this sudden news to her fans.” They added that the wake and funeral plans will be arranged after discussions with the family of the beloved singer, reports the Mirror.

According to a report by Namynagju Police Station, cited by the publication, Park Bo Ram was at a friend’s house on the night she died. After excusing herself to use the bathroom, she never came back, prompting a friend to find her collapsed over the sink.

Despite attempts at resuscitation and calling emergency services, she could not be revived. It’s reported that the police are keen on getting to the bottom of what happened and are looking to order an autopsy from the National Forensic Service.

As word of Park Bo Ram’s death spread, fans took to social media to express their grief. A Twitter user lamented: “Listening to Reply 1988 OST won’t be the same anymore. RIP Park Bo ram.”

Another fan expressed their sorrow, stating: “Park Bo Ram, singer of my favourite K-drama Reply 1988 soundtrack Hyewadong/ Sangmundong, has passed away. RIP,” while another added: “REST IN PEACE PARK BORAM. 1 March 1994 – 12 April 2024. Your beautiful song will always be the most beautiful memory of life.”

It was reported that Park Bo Ram had been working on new music following the launch of two new tracks earlier this year. One song, centred around weight loss, was praised for its inspirational message.

She once shared on the Weekend Edition Sunday show: “I think a lot of people, after listening to this song, were motivated to exercise more, lose weight, and diet.”
