Kanye West compares himself to R. Kelly and Bill Cosby as controversial lyrics surface

Kanye West has compared himself to a string of sex offenders and also called himself and “anti-Semite” as the questionable lyrics surfaced during a listening party for his new album.

His hotly awaited studio album Vultures, has some of the verses already raising a few eyebrows. The rapper’s music was supposed to land last week, but there’s be further setbacks meaning fans have been left waiting.

The 46-year-old hitmaker, who is now better know as Ye, held a gathering in Chicago on Thursday evening at the United Center where he unmasked a number of his new songs. One particular track was bound to prick up ears.

The song Carnival, which includes artists Rich the Kid and Playboy Carti saw the Flashing Lights star compare himself to a slew of sex offenders. According to Forbes, Ye Rapped: “Now I’m Ye Kelly, b**ch / Now I’m Bill Cosby, b**ch / Now I’m Puff Daddy rich / That’s Me Too rich.”

It was alleged that the artists had poked fun of the #MeToo movement that helped women in the workplace to finally have a voice against sexual predators, like Harvey Weinstein. Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, with whom she shares four children, had referenced sex offenders R Kelly and Bill Cosby.

In 2022, R Kelly was jailed for 30 years after being found guilty of eight counts of sex trafficking and one of racketeering in a New York court. Kelly had faced allegations of sexual abuse, with claims going back as far as 1990s, with many centring on the predatory pursuit of teenage girls.

Bill Cosby was freed from jail in June 30, 2021, after serving just three years of his sentence. His conviction was overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

More recently, Kanye has found himself under-fire with online fans after they slammed the hitmaker for regularly sharing obscene and explicit photos of his wife Bianca Censori. Many even called the rapper’s acts degrading.

One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “Her family & friends should have an intervention to ban her from him. For her own protection.” Another said: “She is just a puppet for him.” One more agreed: “Definitely agree there but it might just be away also for him to try to control her also like he tried to do with the rest.”
