Luke Littler caught in awkward ITV Good Morning Britain blunder after ‘getting lost’

New darts sensation Luke Littler caused a stir at ITV on Thursday (January 4) after “getting lost” ahead of a Good Morning Britain chat with hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.

Luke, 16, shot to stardom over the last few weeks by progressing to the PDC World Darts Championship final, before losing to Luke Humphries in a dramatic night at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday. His success has already prompted numerous television and radio shows to get a piece of him, with GMB the latest to grill him on his achievements at such a tender age.

As Susanna and Ben revealed Luke would be appearing on the show later in the morning, however, the camera cut to the prodigy who appeared to suffer a mishap as he made his way through the studio. “We’ll put a smile back on your face Luke, don’t worry,” said Susanna, before Ben shouted: “He’s gone the wrong way!”

With Andi Peters laughing in the background, Ben reassured viewers: “It was the other door, Andi’s going to go and try to rescue him.” Andi then appeared in shot himself, guiding Luke ‘The Nuke’ in the right direction.

Relieved Susanna added: “Our competition genius Andi bringing him into the studio.” Luke was later greeted by cheers as he made his way to the show’s desks, with Susanna telling him: “Don’t look downcast! We’re so proud of you, well done.”

Mature beyond his years, Warrington youngster Luke spoke kindly of his competitor, who scooped the competition’s grand prize of a cool half a million pounds. Luke, who bagged £200,000, revealed: “He’s just a top guy, there’s pictures from five years ago when we played in a competition.”

He continued: “He beat me, but it’s just all respect to him. He’s still on an 18 or 19 win streak, he’s won the past four majors so hopefully I can stop the streak somehow, somewhere!” Luke then went on to make a pledge to his 21-year old girlfriend Eloise Milburn on the show.

He explained that he is eager to get back to practicing with his beau, who is also a keen player herself. “Yeah, obviously I’ve just played in that one, so hopefully I can practice with Eloise and try and get her to where I am,” he said.

The couple bonded over their shared love of gaming after meeting through mutual pals on Xbox while playing FIFA. And despite his success at Ally Pally, Littler confessed he’s missed gaming.

He also shared his routine before the final on Wednesday, having been pictured leaving a London cafe earlier in the afternoon: “I had scrambled eggs and beans on toast for dinner. I woke up at 12.”
