Stacey Solomon begs ‘don’t tell Joe’ as she says she ‘won’t stop’ in home update

Stacey Solomon has pleaded with people not to tell her husband Joe Swash about her long-term plans.

Solomon, 34, has gone from strength to strength in her career as she becomes a fully-fledged presenter. Following the success of her other series Sort Your Life Out, Stacey is now looking ahead as she bags a new home care programme on Channel 4.

The former X Factor star has left the world of singing and music behind in favour of home renovations, which led to the creation of her hit BBC show. After being given the accolade of a Royal Television Society Award for the show, Stacey now wants to commit herself to the home care game for the long term.

Speaking on her new show, Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue, she admitted that she enjoys the feeling of DIY. The show, which follows Stacey as she tries to save homes from falling into disrepair, is set to begin on Wednesday (April 10) at 9pm.

In a quick aside to the camera, she revealed all: “I don’t think I’ll ever be done DIY-ing. Although don’t tell Joe that!”

Stacey added that the practice was “almost therapeutic” for the star. She also said that DIY-ing was something that she had learned to do from a young age.

“Growing up, my parents taught us how to do DIY and that was a real privilege, so I want my kids to have the same,” she recalled. “I’d love to see some basic DIY skills introduced in school curriculums actually!”

The Loose Women panellist has been focusing on her new career in presenting, as viewers continue to tune in to her programmes. After winning her coveted accolade, however, Solomon was quick to let the victory get to her head.

In a hilarious clip uploaded to her story, Stacey taunted her EastEnders star husband Joe as she asked him for a cup of tea. She also joked that she would need to hang out with people in more exclusive circles, sending Swash into a frenzy and he was gradually wound up more.

But despite the occasional sly dig, both Joe and Stacey are happily loved up, with whom she shares three kids. In recent days, however, Stacey was hounded by concerned fans after she made a nearly fatal mistake with her loved ones.

The ex-singer left many of her followers worried after they spotted her daughter Rose, two, had spilled raisins on the floor – potentially being eaten by the family dogs Teddy and Peanut. Solomon was quick to hit back against the concerns, joking that she had “ten million” warnings about the dogs eating the raisins, but she assured fans that everything was under control.

Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue airs every Wednesday at 9pm on Channel 4.
