Stacey Solomon’s eight-word response to husband Joe Swash in heated exchange

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash had a tense spat over a garage conversion on her new show, Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue.

The feisty Loose Women star was seen dealing with the garage’s door and window, which caused the former EastEnders actor to question her antics, saying: “What have you done to my garage?” Joe likened the size of the garage to their relationship dynamics and joked: “The proportions of this garage is the proportions of how our relationship works,” leading to much laughter between the couple as he continued: “You’re getting 85 [per cent] and I’m getting 15 [per cent]!”

His missus wasn’t missing a beat and lightly responded: “Well, we might as well continue as we started.” In an aside to viewers, the industry-savvy presenter pointed out: “It’s better if we keep the DIY to one person, that person being me,” before launching a cheeky verbal jab, saying: “Because I’m much better at it than Joe!”

Joe tried to negotiate his involvement in the proceedings inquiring: “Do me a favour, we’ll do one brick each, yeah?” Meanwhile, in another part of the programme, Stacey was seen lending a sympathetic ear to a Devon duo who fell prey to a heart-wrenching £300,000 scam, reports the Express.

Overwhelmed by emotion, the couple recalled their journey with the telly star; from a health scare to issues with builders, they had it all. The wife almost met her end when confronted with a Covid scare, and the husband was on the brink of saying his final goodbye.

“I had oxygen canisters at home – [the virus] knocked me for six,” she revealed. Their dream home in Devon turned into a nightmare after an inspection declared their £300,000 renovation project substandard, forcing them back to the drawing board.

Their budget reduced to £30,000, a mere fraction of what it once was, they pleaded with Stacey for help rescuing their disastrous building endeavour. The Loose Women panel member could hardly believe her eyes.

“It doesn’t look like we spent that much from the outside,” admitted the couple, to which Stacey retorted: “I say it in the nicest way possible – it shouldn’t look like this on that budget!”

Disheartened, they confessed: “At one point we were only left with one wall in the house. We lost the passion completely and it became a chore.”

“They’ve not just taken your money, they’ve taken time away from your family,” the TV personality responded sympathetically to the couple’s plight with rouge builders. Wasting no time, she embraced them warmly, promising: “We are gonna do whatever we can to make this work!”

Indeed, as she got stuck in with some difficult jobs to avoid them spending more money, the idyllic beach house gradually took shape. Touched by their effort, Stacey emotionally exclaimed at the end: “I wanna move in!”
