Strictly Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin in happy ending after ‘everything they endured’

Strictly Come Dancing’s Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin have confirmed a happy ending to their close partnership.

The dancing duo have finally won the glitterball trophy, after narrowly missing out on the BBC One TV series win to Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach and her dance partner Vito Coppola in 2023. The pair announced their victory on the Strictly Live Tour with a cryptic swipe.

Layton and Nikita were crowned winners of the tour, which sees audiences vote for their favourite couple each night in cities like London, Sheffield, and Leeds. With the most wins, they took home the tour’s glitterball trophy.

Stage star Layton shared the news with fans, saying: “What a way to end the most epic journey. Strictly tour winners.

“This was honestly not on my mood board. It just feels like the icing on the cake after everything we endured. Thank you to everyone who supported us every quickstep of the way.”

The phrase “everything we endured” seems to be about the tough time Layton got on the telly, with some folks saying it wasn’t fair for a pro dancer who’s been in big shows like Billy Elliot to compete against beginners like Annabel Croft. Now that the live tour is over, it’s also the end of Layton and his dance partner’s time together after six months since the start of the 2023 series in August.

Fans were left really happy for them and sent their best wishes. One said: “So delighted you got to lift your glitterball. The love for you both and the appreciation of your extraordinary talent was always there, just took the tour for you to see it. At least we have all those amazing dances to go back to and remember what magic you both created and how lucky we were to witness it week in week out.”

Another said: “Love you guys. Hope you keep in touch and you share more collaborations content.”
