The Chase fans swoon over ‘oldest ever player’ — and even Bradley Walsh is left gushing

The Chase viewers were left doing a double take over the “oldest player” on the show.

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Thursday (April 4) as telly legend Bradley Walsh welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in, he introduced contestants Colin, Tom, Ria and Margot before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week the quartet was up against Jenny Ryan, also known as The Vixen, who made sure to bring her A-game against the wise quizzers. And it’s fair to say player Margot got plenty of people talking.

So much so, when they heard her age. She said: “I’m Margot, I’m 91 and I’m a psychotherapist from Maidenhead.”

Margot got plenty of people talking

And it was a big day for Margot as it was her birthday. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer said: “Margot looks amazing for 90, so glamorous.”

Someone else added: “She has to be oldest person on the show?” A third penned: “If I live to be 91 I want to be like Margot. Looks amazing and still working. Good on her!”

Bradley gushed over the player

Even Bradley was left dishing out the compliments. When it was her time to play, he told her: “I’ve got to say, it’s a thrill having you here. Really, really brilliant!”

Margot then revealed more about herself. She shared how she was born in Germany but moved to the east of London in 1939. And if she won any money, she planned to buy a “nice big telly.”

All four players managed to reach the final

All four contestants,Colin, Tom, Ria and Margot, managed to make it back for the final chase. The foursome were playing for an eye-popping £37,000 cash prize and got 22 questions correct.

But when it came to The Vixen’s turn, she managed to catch them with just three seconds left – leaving the team and Bradley gutted. He quipped: “That was unbelievable.”
