Top comedian forced to hide contraband up his bum during terrifying work trip

TV star Dom Joly nearly got in big trouble in North Korea after taking photographs which wasn’t allowed.

In an attempt to keep his photos, he stashed his camera SD card up his bum before getting security checked on his way out of the country. Dom told us the bizarre tale exclusively and said: “I was in North Korea, which is very difficult to get into anyway, as I was researching for my book.

“And you’re not allowed to take photographs of anything. They confiscate everything from you when you get there. And if you keep your camera, you have to ask permission from everyone before you take pictures.

“I was like slowly taking pictures because people were looking but they weren’t really watching all the time. And then when we were going to leave, we left on a train to China. And I thought ‘This is great. I’ve got away with it’.

“And as we’re leaving, someone runs down and says there’s a North Korean soldier coming down looking through cameras, and I’ve got all these pictures that I’m not supposed to have. I don’t know what to do. So I took the card out and I stuck it up my a***. And then I got another card and I put it in the camera. But I thought he’s not going to believe I’ve got no photos.”

He added: “We were drinking North Korean beer, which was quite good, so I just took like 200 photos of a North Korean beer bottle and he came in and he started looking at my camera and he goes through them, then he gets to about 100 bottles and he just looked at me like ‘you’ve got a real problem’.”
