Towards the end of her virtual interview for ‘Today’ show, the ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ actress talks about life amid the coronavirus pandemic when she gets joined by her 7-month-old son.

    Apr 12, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Amanda Seyfried has treated fans to a sweet surprise during her latest virtual interview. The “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” actress sat down for a conversation with “Today” host Willie Geist when her baby boy, whom she gave birth in secret amid the coronavirus pandemic, suddenly made an appearance.

The 35-year-old was joined by her young son towards the end of her Sunday, April 11 chat. She was not the only one excited over her little man’s present. The show’s host was also cooing over the infant. “Oh my God, what a cute guy. Come on,” he gushed after the actress’ baby boy popped in wearing a colorful baby romper.

Before her baby boy’s surprise appearance, Amanda talked about how difficult it was for her to cope with being in the spotlight. The “You Should Have Left” actress told Willie that she still suffered from panic attacks due to her fame. “That’s what a panic attack is, really,” she pointed out.

“Your body just goes into fight or flight. The endorphin rush and the dump that happens after the panic attack is so extraordinary,” she went on saying. “You just feel so relieved and your body is just kind of recovered in a way. It’s so bizarre because it’s physiological, but it starts in your head.”

The actress, who received an Oscar nomination for her role in “Mank”, added that she wished people saw her as a normal being. “I do not have someone waking me up with breakfast in bed, and I’m not chauffeured around,” she explained.

Amanda also shared that she has been living on a working farm in the Catskills of Upstate New York with her family. She made the “very conscious” decision because she wanted to have a life away from Hollywood. “I’ve always wanted to live on a farm. I just need to feel grounded somewhere that I can trust will always be there,” she said.

Amanda welcomed her baby boy with her husband, “John Wick: Chapter 2” actor Thomas Sadoski, in September 2020. The married couple introduced their son for the first time on September 28, 2020 via Thomas’ Instagram post. The two are also parents to 4-year-old daughter Nina.

The ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ actress is desperate to land her dream role of Glinda the Good Witch as she has been campaigning for five years in hopes to play the character.

    Apr 11, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Amanda Seyfried has wanted to play Glinda the Good Witch in a movie adaptation of the musical “Wicked” for five years.

The “Mank” star has revealed she sent director Jon M. Chu a clip of herself singing “Popular” from the show with the aim of landing the role.

Speaking on Variety’s “Award Circuit” podcast, she said, “I’ve been campaigning for Wicked for five years.”

The 35-year-old actress has been taking singing lessons and regularly practices the song.

“I’ve never been more ready to hit those notes,” she insisted.

And the “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” star even has an idea of who she’d like to star alongside her as Elphaba, suggesting Anna Kendrick and Anne Hathaway would be ideal for the role of the Wicked Witch of the West.

“For a while it was Anna Kendrick, because I thought that her Elphaba would be really solid, and, you know, I sing the high notes and she can sing, she can be the alto,” she said.

“At one point, it was Anne Hathaway, too. She could obviously be Elphaba.”

However, her first choice would be her “Les Miserable” co-star Samantha Barks.

“There’s nobody else like Samantha Barks,” she gushed. “Samantha is my No. 1, I mean, there’s no better singer in the world I think.”

Amanda won’t give up trying to land her dream gig, but will “let it go” by the time she is 50.

She admitted, “There’s things that you will always be attached to and want to do, no matter how old you get, but if they still haven’t made Wicked by the time I’m 50, then fine, I’ll let it go.”

Amanda Seyfried Fears Pregnancy Would Ruin Her Experience Filming 'Mank'

    WENN/Nicky Nelson

The ‘Mamma Mia!’ star, who gave birth to her second child with husband Thomas Sadoski in September 2020, portrays real-life 1930s actress Marion Davies in the Herman J. Mankiewicz biopic.

    Feb 26, 2021
AceShowbiz – Amanda Seyfried was “terrified” when she discovered she was pregnant at the start of filming “Mank”, because she dreaded the thought of dealing with morning sickness while onset.
The “Mamma Mia!” star portrays real-life 1930s actress Marion Davies in the Herman J. Mankiewicz biopic, which chronicles his battle to complete the screenplay for Orson Welles’ “Citizen Kane”.
However, Seyfried admits she had nothing to fear, because the excitement of working on the David Fincher passion project, opposite Gary Oldman as Mankiewicz, made her temporarily forget she was expecting.
Recalling her initial reaction to her positive pregnancy test, Seyfried said, “I was very surprised, and I was also terrified, because the anticipation of getting to set everyday, especially when you’re waking up at 3am, which is the earliest I’ve ever gotten up for a job, knowing that I’m gonna have morning sickness, knowing how horrible I feel physiologically, was just that was a challenge. Just getting mind over matter and getting to set (was difficult).”

“Of course, when I was on set, everything disappeared, we’d roll the cameras and I’d forget that I was pregnant for a second,” she added. “But it’s that challenging part at the beginning of a pregnancy that I thought was really gonna ruin my experience, but it was even better because I had this little man in me.”

Amanda Seyfried Turned Down 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Because She Thought the Movie Would Tank

    WENN

The ‘Mamma Mia!’ actress admits she was very skeptical when she was offered to portray Gamora in the James Gunn-directed superhero movie about a talking tree and raccoon.

    Dec 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Amanda Seyfried passed on the role of Gamora in “Guardians of the Galaxy” because she didn’t want to be a part of the first big Marvel flop.
The “Mamma Mia!” star felt sure the film would bomb even though James Gunn’s script was “great”, and now admits she was “very wrong.”
“I didn’t want to be part of the first Marvel movie that bombed,” the actress tells The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast. “I said, ‘Who wants to see a movie about a talking tree and a raccoon…?’ I was very wrong.”
The film went on to make over $770 million (£576 million) at the global box office.

“The script was great; it was all based in not wanting to be ‘that guy,’ ” Amanda adds, “because if you are the star of a giant movie like that, and it bombs, Hollywood does not forgive you. I’ve seen that happen to people and it was a giant, giant fear and I thought, ‘Is it worth it?’ ”
The role eventually went to Zoe Saldana.
In the comic book movie, she was joined by Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.
After exploring the galaxy in two standalone movies, the Marvel ragtag team of misfits eventually joined The Avengers in “Avengers: Infinity War” and then returned for “Avengers: Endgame”. Now a third “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie is currently in development as part of the Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Amanda Seyfried Praises 'Mank' Director for Creating Authentic '30s Era Set

    Instagram

Aside from claiming that David Fincher ‘doesn’t make any mistakes,’ the ‘Mamma Mia!’ star shares how she found a way to tackle her role as finding a way to tackle her role in the biopic.

    Dec 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Amanda Seyfried was hesitant to step into the shoes of early 20th century actress Marion Davies for new biopic “Mank”, because she didn’t know how to approach the bygone era.
The David Fincher movie is based on the life of Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and chronicles the tumultuous development of Orson Welles’ iconic 1941 film “Citizen Kane”, with Gary Oldman starring as the titular character.
Seyfried portrays Davis, alongside Charles Dance as her lover, media magnate William Randolph Hearst, but the “Mamma Mia!” star admits finding a way to tackle her role proved to be a little tricky at first – until she stepped onto the 1930s era set.
“Fincher doesn’t make any mistakes, really. He creates a world that feels so authentic, and when you think about 1930s Hollywood, it just feels so far away, and I always saw myself as a very modern actress,” Seyfried shared on U.S. breakfast show “Today”.
“I was like, ‘How am I gonna jump into this?’ But it was really kind of easy in some ways because I felt like the costumes, the makeup, the hair, the set pieces, it was all there.”

“It was a dream that I didn’t know I had. How many opportunities do you get to play a 1930s era movie star… like this?”

As part of her portrayal of Davis, the Pennsylvania-born Seyfried had to master a Brooklyn, New York accent.
“My trick is do everything very subtly,” she explained. “Mild is really the only thing I think I can get away with (with) something that’s not natural; it’s not a natural accent for me.”
“My biggest fear is to distract people and (for) it (to) sound terrible, so I just did a mild Brooklyn accent!”
Her efforts appear to be paying off as Seyfried’s performance in the Netflix movie has already earned her high praise from critics, and the actress is considered to be one of the early favourites to land an Oscar nomination for the 2021 Academy Awards.
