    Edie Falco to Portray Hillary Clinton on FX's 'Impeachment: American Crime Story'

    It is said that the deal for the Golden Globe-winning actress to play the former first lady in the upcoming new season of the FX series has been in talks for months and only recently got closed.

    AceShowbiz – FX’s “Impeachment: American Crime Story” has reportedly found its Hillary Clinton in Edie Falco. Multiple reports state that the Golden Globe-winning actress has been tapped to play the 67th United States secretary.
    It is said that the deal for Falco to play the former first lady has been in talks for months and only recently got closed. Should the report be true, the multiple Emmy winner will star alongside Clive Owen who has been cast as Bill Clinton in the new installment of the anthology series.
    Also starring on “Impeachment” are Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, Betty Gilpin as right-wing pundit Ann Coulter and Billy Eichner as Matt Drudge. The cast also includes Annaleigh Ashford who will portray Paula Jones on the limited series.

    Based on former New Yorker writer Jeffrey Toobin’s book “A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President”, the new season is set to tackle the affair between Lewinsky and former president Bill Clinton in the late ’90s that captivated the nation. The scandal ultimately led to the president’s impeachment. After being impeached for not telling the truth about his affair with Lewinsky in December 1998, Clinton was eventually acquitted by the senate in February 1999.
    It is also set to explore “the overlooked dimensions of women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton Presidency.” Sarah Burgess writes the script with Ryan Murphy producing.
    FX has yet to announce the premiere date for “Impeachment: American Crime Story”.

    The ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ actress is set to play the former U.S. civil servant who was involved in a now-infamous affair with former president Bill Clinton in the late ’90s.

    AceShowbiz – Beanie Feldstein nails her transformation into Monica Lewinsky for “Impeachment: American Crime Story”. In a set photo that circulated online on Monday, February 1, the actress was seen for the first time channeling the activist/TV personality.
    The picture taken in Los Angeles set for the upcoming FX series featured the “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” actress donning a blue zip-up sweater with a black leather coat. She had her long dark locks pulled back as she had a cup of coffee in one of her hands.
    Also seen filming that day was Sarah Paulson. The “Ocean’s 8” actress will portray Linda Tripp, the former U.S. civil servant whose secret tape recordings of conversations with Lewinsky exposed the now-infamous affair.

    'Morning Show' and 'American Crime Story' Shut Down Productions Due to Covid-19 Scares

    The filming of the TV drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and the Ryan Murphy-created anthology series have been halted following coronavirus concerns.

    AceShowbiz – Production on Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s TV Drama “The Morning Show” and Ryan Murphy’s “Impeachment: American Crime Story” has been paused after a number of positive COVID-19 tests.
    A night shoot for “The Morning Show”, set to take place in Culver City, California on Thursday (17Dec20), was cancelled after one crewmember was diagnosed while those they had been in contact with were forced to self-isolate.
    A second round of testing was scheduled to take place on Friday to double check results in the event the crewmember had received a false positive, reports E! News.
    It’s unclear if any of the show’s stars are among those affected.
    Filming on season two of the Apple TV+ series began in October following the COVID-19 shutdown delay.

    Meanwhile, filming also ground to a halt on the Los Angeles set of “Impeachment: American Crime Story”, which will chronicle the impeachment of former U.S. President Bill Clinton following his 1998 affair with intern Monica Lewinsky.
    According to TMZ, “multiple” positive test results among both cast and crewmembers forced officials to close the set earlier this week, although it’s unclear which of the actors were affected.
    The drama series will star Beanie Feldstein as Lewinsky, Clive Owen as Clinton, and Sarah Paulson as late White House whistleblower Linda Tripp.
    And there was also a COVID-19 scare on the set of Piper Perabo and Scott Foley’s upcoming dramatic comedy “The Big Leap”, with shoots halted on Wednesday as a result of a number of positive diagnoses.
    Fox studio officials had been shooting the pilot in Chicago, Illinois, and had just four days of work left to wrap.
