Britney Spears Calls Out Media Over 'Framing' Doc After Posting Bizarre Skull Baby Pic

    Instagram

The ‘…Baby One More Time’ hitmaker admits to being ’embarrassed’ by ‘the light they put me in’ as she reveals that she ‘cried for two weeks’ due to the Hulu documentary.

    Mar 31, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Britney Spears has broken her silence on “Framing Britney Spears” documentary that shed light on her ongoing conservatorship battle with her father Jamie Spears. While public support has been flowing for her in the wake of the Hulu/The New York Times documentary, she appears to be not a fan of the work.

Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday, March 30, the pop star admitted to feeling “embarrassed” by the documentary and crying for two weeks over it, although she hasn’t watched it herself. “My life has always been very speculated …,” she began lamenting in a caption of a video showing her dancing cheerfully to “Crazy” by Aerosmith, “watched … and judged really my whole life !!!”

“For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life to feel wild and human and alive !!!” she explained her act in the video. “I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people !!! It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media… and I still am till this day!!!! As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people !!!”

Addressing the doc specifically, she called out the media for the way she was put in the limelight. “I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in …,” she shared. “I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!!”

The 39-year-old went on revealing how she consoles herself, “I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy … love … and happiness !!!! Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I’m not here to be perfect … perfect is boring … I’m here to pass on kindness !!!!”

One day before weighing on the “Framing” documentary, Britney confused her fans and followers for posting a bizarre photo of a skull baby. In the black-and-white image seemingly taken a long time ago, a woman wearing a Victorian-era gown is seen holding a baby with a bare skull for a head.

“Devil is in the details [smiling devil emoji] …. wouldn’t want this baby to hit me one more time [three laughing emojis] !!!!” she captioned it. The singer uploaded the photo amid her posts for what she dubbed a “Red” campaign.

New Britney Spears Documentary In the Works With Award-Winning Journalist

    Instagram

Hot on heels of the huge success of ‘Framing Britney Spears’, a new film exploring the truth behind the singer’s controversial conservatorship is on the way.

    Mar 18, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
A new documentary exploring the truth behind Britney Spears’ conservatorship is on the way from BBC Two.

Following the massive success of U.S. documentary “Framing Britney Spears”, which documents the “Toxic” singer’s treatment at the hands of reporters and the paparazzi, 2008 public breakdown and a hospital spell, BAFTA-winning journalist Mobeen Azhar’s own investigation into Britney’s situation will air on the TV channel later this spring.

In the documentary, which has a working title of “Britney”, Azhar will be seen journeying from the singer’s hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana to Los Angeles, as well as attending a court hearing and speaking to those fighting for Britney’s freedom.

“I went to LA in search of the truth of how Britney Spears, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, ended up in a conservatorship,” he said in a statement. “I found myself in a world of lawyers, superfans and paparazzi and spent time with many of the people who’ve had a front row seat in Britney’s life.”

“This film taps into the energy of the #FreeBritney movement and questions the industry, fandom and the laws that facilitate conservatorships.”

The Southern Belle was not involved in “Framing Britney Spears” and it’s unclear whether or not she will take part in the upcoming documentary.

Rumor has it, the singer is working on documenting her life journey “said in her own words.” However, a source said, “Under her current conservatorship, she fears her father could take control of the film to paint himself in a better light.”

Kelly Rowland Hesitant to Watch Britney Documentary Due to Lack of Pop Star's Involvement

    WENN

The Destiny’s Child singer admits she hasn’t watched the controversial Britney Spears documentary because the Southern Belle was not involved in the film making.

    Mar 6, 2021
AceShowbiz – Kelly Rowland is “having a hard time wanting to watch” the recent documentary about Britney Spears’ conservatorship.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” and the programme’s “After Show” on Thursday (04Mar21), Kelly explained that she has some reservations about watching the film because Britney didn’t participate in it herself.
“I haven’t seen the Britney doc. I’m having a hard time wanting to watch it,” she sighed. “I really respect when artists say, ‘This is a documentary, it’s OK to watch this.’ I respect their space and their privacy and their point of view. And their story, what they feel their story is, from their brains, their hearts their mouths. So, I try and respect that.”
However, Kelly concluded, “But everybody says they really enjoy it, so that’s great.”

The Destiny’s Child singer also weighed in on the changing media landscape since Britney’s much-publicised breakdown in 2008, and insisted that social media has a lot more power these days than it ever did back then.
“Now it’s social media, and social media is people. From her perspective, (the negativity came from) journalists and all these people in the media. But now social media is people. So people need to just be kind. Period,” she said.
Following the documentary release, Britney received apology from former boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
The NSYNC member regretted his treatment of Britney and his former Super Bowl collaborator Janet Jackson.
“I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right,” he said. “I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.”

'At the Heart of Gold' Director Works on New Britney Spears Documentary

    Instagram/WENN

Erin Lee Carr, who is known for her HBO film that focuses on Larry Nassar’s sex abuse scandal, is uncovered to have been developing this project for Netflix.

    Feb 16, 2021
AceShowbiz – Fans of Britney Spears will soon have another documentary about the pop superstar to tune into – filmmaker Erin Lee Carr has been working on a new project for Netflix.
The director, known for HBO film “At the Heart of Gold”, which examined the sex abuse scandal surrounding Larry Nassar, former physician for the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, has been developing the new Britney documentary for months, reports Bloomberg.
Few details have been released about the forthcoming film, but the news emerges days after bosses at rival streaming service Hulu premiered the much-discussed “Framing Britney Spears”, which chronicled her rise to fame, her 2008 mental breakdown, and her ongoing conservatorship battle, noting how misogynistic the media coverage of her personal struggles became.

The documentary, produced by officials at The New York Times and the FX network, prompted fans to turn on Britney’s ex, Justin Timberlake, for capitalising on their 2002 split as he launched his solo career, which even led to the singer/actor issuing a public apology last week, ends February 12.
Reports had also suggested Britney was planning to share her unfiltered side of the story in her own film, but sources close to the “Toxic” hitmaker have since dismissed the claims. A report also stated that “under her current conservatorship, she fears her father could take control of the film to paint himself in a better light.”
Meanwhile, in response to “Framing Britney Spears”, the singer wrote on social media, “Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person’s life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens !!!”

Britney Spears Works on Her Own Documentary but Fears Dad Would Take Control of the Film

    Instagram

The ‘Hold It Against Me’ hitmaker is reportedly working on a documentary, ‘said in her own words,’ but the singer is afraid her father Jamie would try to wrestle control out of her hands.

    Feb 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Britney Spears has reportedly teamed up with a top female filmmaker to make her own documentary about her life.
The singer took to Instagram to reassure fans of her wellbeing after the controversial documentary “Framing Britney Spears” aired in the U.S., writing, “Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person’s life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens !!!”
The film documented Britney’s mental health struggles and her conservatorship, after her dad Jamie was placed in charge of her life following her breakdown in 2008, and now sources have told the New York Post’s Page Six that the mother-of-two is in the process of working on her own film, “said in her own words.”

“But under her current conservatorship, she fears her father could take control of the film to paint himself in a better light,” an insider told the outlet.
Britney has been battling to have Jamie removed from her conservatorship, with her boyfriend Sam Asghari labelling her dad a “total d**k,” writing on his Instagram Story, “I won’t be going into details because I’ve always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”
However, one person who won’t be weighing in on the scandal is Kevin Federline – Britney’s ex-husband and father of her two sons.
“Kevin has no involvement with regard to Britney and her attorneys asking to remove Jamie as conservator,” his family lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! News. “He has no other position to state with regard to the conservatorship.”

Haley Williams and Shirley Manson Left Appalled After Watching 'Framing Britney Spears' Documentary

    Instagram/WENN/Instagram

Also expressing support to the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker following the release of the New York Times film are Kacey Musgraves, Vanessa Carlton, Sam Smith, Hayley Kiyoko and Liz Phair.

    Feb 9, 2021
AceShowbiz – Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams and Garbage’s Shirley Manson are among the stars who have had strong reactions to a powerful new Britney Spears documentary.
The pop superstar’s fans have been appalled by some of the footage in “Framing Britney Spears”, now out in the U.S., particularly when a paparazzo, who trailed Spears during her 2008 meltdown, claimed on camera she liked being surrounded by photographers.
And some of her more famous devotees were shocked to learn more about the singer’s conservatorship, with her father overseeing her finances and wellbeing for the past decade-plus.
“Just watched the ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary and have to say, there is something VERY weird, very wrong going on. #FreeBritney,” Manson tweeted, referring to the fan movement set up to highlight the way the pop star is being managed.

Shirley Manson offered strong reaction to ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary.
Williams added, “No artist today would have to endure the literal torture that media/society/utter misogynists inflicted upon her. The mental health awareness conversation, culturally, could never be where it is without the awful price she has paid.”

Hayley Williams expressed support for Britney Spears after watching her documentary.

And, responding to a fan, who suggested many of the problems featured in the documentary still exist, she added, “i’ll say this – as an artist, my very personal experience with misogynistic journalists/media is that over the last 15 years, it’s improved.”

Hayley Williams shared her views on misogynistic journalists.
Meanwhile, Kacey Musgraves has encouraged her two million Instagram followers to watch “Framing Britney Spears”, stating, “Never has one person been so used and abandoned by every facet around her. My heart goes out to her. She has always been such an inspiration to me my whole kid/teen life. Wish she could get a re-do.”

Vanessa Carlton, Sam Smith, Hayley Kiyoko, and Liz Phair have also taken to social media after watching the film to offer their support to Britney.
The New York Times film also features interviews with blogger Perez Hilton, who boasts that when Britney Spears does badly, he does well, and the singer’s ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, while her father, Jamie, is painted as a terrible, toxic force. But perhaps the most awkward footage is a hard-hitting 2003 TV interview, in which newswoman Diane Sawyer grills the singer and visibly upsets her by quoting Maryland’s then-First Lady Kendall Ehrlich, who famously said she’d like to shoot Spears if she got the chance, due to the example the pop star was setting for American kids.
“Framing Britney Spears” debuted in the U.S. on Saturday night, February 6.

Britney Spears' Conservatorship Feud Chronicled in New Documentary

    Instagram

An upcoming documentary titled ‘Framing Britney Spears’ is expected to offer details of the conservatorship drama as a part of ‘The New York Times Presents’ series.

    Jan 23, 2021
AceShowbiz – Britney Spears’ conservatorship battle will be the subject of a new documentary, titled “Framing Britney Spears”.
The “Toxic” singer is currently locked in a legal battle against her father, Jamie Spears, to have him permanently removed from her conservatorship. Britney no longer wants him to have control over her life, as he has done since her conservatorship began following her public breakdown in 2008.
The singer’s fans, concerned about the pop star’s wellbeing, started advocating for her freedom with the hashtag #FreeBritney, and their fight will also form part of the documentary, which will air on FX and Hulu on 5 February (21).
A description for the film reads, “People close to Britney Spears and lawyers tied to her conservatorship now reassess her career as she battles her father in court over who should control her life.”
A teaser features interviews with several people involved in the #FreeBritney movement.

“Framing Britney Spears” will air as the sixth episode of “The New York Times Presents” series’ first season.
In November 2020, Britney was denied a request to have her father immediately removed from her conservatorship. As a response, the “Piece of Me” hitmaker is reportedly refusing to return to the stage until Jamie steps down from overseeing her affairs.
Meanwhile, Jamie questioned the logic in having him removed from the conservatorship completely, claiming he was the one who saved Britney’s estate from drowning in debt and actually turned fortunes around to build up a value of $60 million.
He previously stepped down from his role in September 2019, citing poor health following allegations that he abused Britney’s son. Jamie handed temporary conservatorship over to Britney’s care manager Jodi Montgomery. However, he resumed his duties in January.
Both sister Jamie Lynn Spears and brother Bryan insisted they had Britney’s interests at heart.

The new tune comes just two weeks after Britney dropped previously unreleased song “Swimming in the Stars” on her 39th birthday. Fans are hoping that the new music means things are turning around for the troubled singer, who has been fighting to have dad Jamie removed as her legal conservator.
Last month (Nov20), she was denied a request to have her father immediately removed despite her lawyers alleging the pop superstar is “afraid” of him.
According to reports, the “Piece of Me” hitmaker is refusing to return to the stage until Jamie steps down from overseeing her affairs.
Meanwhile, Jamie questioned the logic in having him removed from the conservatorship completely, claiming he was the one who saved Britney’s estate from drowning in debt and actually turned fortunes around to build up a value of $60 million.
Jamie has been his daughter’s conservator since her very public meltdown in 2008. He stepped down from his role in September 2019, citing poor health following allegations that he abused Britney’s son. Jamie handed temporary conservatorship over to Britney’s care manager Jodi Montgomery. However, he resumed his duties in January.
