    Chris Brown Wins Big at 2020 Soul Train Awards

    H.E.R, who led the nominations with eight, walks away with two trophy, whereas Monica secures Lady of Soul title and Brandy collects the coveted Certified honor.

    AceShowbiz – Chris Brown was a four-time winner at the 2020 Soul Train Awards in Hollywood on Sunday night (November 29).
    The singer was named the night’s Best R&B/Soul Male Artist while his “Go Crazy” collaboration with Young Thug nabbed Best Song, Best Collaboration, and Best Dance Performance.

    H.E.R., who went into the ceremony as the leading nominee, with eight nods, picked up two – she was named Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, while her protest track “I Can’t Breathe” scored the Songwriter’s Award.
    It was also a big night for former duet partners Monica and Brandy – Monica was named Lady of Soul and Brandy picked up the coveted Certified honour.

    The two R ‘n’ B stars are up against one another in the category of Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration as well as The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award.

    AceShowbiz – R&B stars H.E.R. and Chris Brown will be the ones to beat at the 2020 Soul Train Awards.
    H.E.R. leads all nominees with eight mentions, followed by Brown with seven, and they will face off with one another for the top prizes of Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration and The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award – all for their respective hits “Slide”, featuring YG, and “Go Crazy” with Young Thug.
    H.E.R. is also up for Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, being pitted against other renowned stars including Alicia Keys, Beyonce Knowles, Brandy, Jhene Aiko and Summer Walker. She doubles her chance to win the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award as her song “I Can’t Breathe” also shows up as a nominee in the category.
    Breezy, meanwhile, earned his other nominations for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, which sees Anderson .Paak, Charlie Wilson, PJ Morton, The Weeknd and Usher as other contenders for the prize. He additionally vies for Best Dance Performance title, once again thanks to his collaboration with Young Thug, “Go Crazy”.
    Other multiple nominees include Beyonce and Young Thug with six apiece, and Usher, Chloe x Halle and Summer Walker with five each.
    The 2020 Soul Train Awards, which honor the best in soul, R&B and hip-hop, will air on 29 November.
    “Martin” co-stars Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold will reunite to host the ceremony for the third consecutive year.

    In response to the debate, Breezy takes to Instagram to seemingly insinuate that he believes he will win the possible battle but that doesn’t mean he’s interested to do one.

    AceShowbiz – Chris Brown and Usher found themselves trending on Twitter on Sunday, July 26. Fans took to the blue bird app to voice their opinion on who would win if the two R&B stars were going against each other in a “Verzuz” battle.
    Some fans were confident that Breezy would easily edge out Usher with one fan writing, “There is a reason why chris brown was asked to do a tribute for [Michael Jackson] TWICE and not usher.” Another fan tweeted alongside a clip of Chris performing, “since chris brown is living in y’all heads rent free again, let’s bring back this iconic tribute. pay respect when respect is due.”
    “Chris Brown said he will never do a vs battle because he’s only in competition with himself. So there goes the answer to that,” one user said, referring to Chris’ Instagram post in which he said, “Only vs ima do is CHRIS BROWN VS CHRIS BREEZY… not in competition with nobody but myself….”

    Meanwhile, some others thought Usher would definitely win the battle. “Why do people think Usher would lose in a battle against Chris Brown??? I don’t get it,” said someone. “Usher WASHES Chris Brown in a Versus. S*****t he might beat him with just the Confession album alone,” a confident fan added.
    “Waymint… THEE Usher Raymond that told us ‘Confession’ and to ‘Let it burn?’ ‘Seven o’clock in drop top cruising the streets’ Usher? Tell them chirren to go to bed! Ain’t nan way!” another fan chimed in.

    In response to the debate, Breezy took to Instagram to seemingly insinuate that he believed he would win the possible battle but that didn’t mean he’s interested to do one. “What we not gone do is CAP,” the “No Guidance” singer wrote on Instagram Stories on Sunday.

    In a separate post, he added, “I could do a vs off features alone… So I’ll humbly decline… I’m busy doing nothing.”

    AceShowbiz – Even though several days have passed since the BET Awards was held virtually, it’s not too late to celebrate your achievements at the event held on Sunday, June 28. Chris Brown, for instance, recently took to his social media account to mark his win as the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, though he did it with a little bit of pettiness.
    Instead of directly talking about his win at the night, CB shared a video of Jacquees, his competitor, performing an ad lib. “Alexa play… Eeyeeh eeeyeeeh eeeeeyeeeh !” so the “No Guidance” singer captioned the video. People were convinced his post was meant to be a shade towards Jacquees since the latter previously admitted in an interview that he anticipated winning the category.
    “That’s not shade that’s a whole PALM THREE,” one commented. “And that’s on my eyeeeh.” Meanwhile, another person said, “Lol Chris just letting him know he will always be the King of RNB,” referring to that one time when Jacquees caused Internet frenzy by claiming that he was the king of R&B.
    Jacquees has yet to respond to CB’s shade.
    Besides Jacquees, CB beat out several other contenders that included Khalid, The Weeknd and Usher. In addition, it wasn’t his only win of the night as he took home the Best Collaboration Award for his hit duet with Drake, “No Guidance”.
    Other artists who nabbed more than one award during the ceremony were Roddy Ricch and Megan Thee Stallion. While the former brought home Best New Artist and Album of the Year for his debut record “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial”, the “Savage” hitmaker cinched Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Viewer’s Choice Award for her collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Hot Girl Summer”. She defeated other strong opponents such as Future’s “Life Is Good” and Roddy’s “The Box”.
