Jared Leto's Joker Gets Creepy Makeover in First-Look Pics of Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'

    HBO Max/Zack Snyder

The director also shares details of the sequence in which the Batman villain will appear and its significance to show the Caped Crusader’s hatred toward the Clown Prince of Crime.

    Feb 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – After teased by Zack Snyder on his social media page, the first official look at Jared Leto’s Joker in his upcoming version of “Justice League” has been unveiled in full. Courtesy of Vanity Fair, the two pictures reveal the character’s creepy transformation.
The first of the black-and-white snaps give a close-up look at Joker’s face, which appears to have some scratches on the forehead, below his eye and his chin area. Another image gives an eerie vibe as it shows the Batman villain looking fully insane while sitting in a long, narrow space.

He sports long hair which is slicked back and left hanging on his shoulders, while wearing a hospital gown, which appears to be badly stained. He also wears surgical gloves while sitting on a stool, which is the only furniture seen in the plain room.

Leto’s Joker also sports a bulletproof vest festooned with grimy law enforcement badges. “He has tons of badges,” according to Snyder, who describes the badges as “his trophies.”
Speaking to the site, Snyder admits that adding Joker to the movie has always been one of his main obsessions when he’s offered a chance to complete his own take on the 2017 movie. “The Joker is really the only thing that I thought of in retrospect,” he says. “But I will say that it was always my intention to bring Joker into that world.”
[SPOILER ALERT!] In “The Snyder Cut”, Leto’s Joker will appear in a dream sequence set on a ruined Earth after the alien tyrant Darkseid invades and decimates the planet. It is Bruce Wayne’s (Ben Affleck) dream that reveals what will happen if the superheroes fail to stop the onslaught.
“The cool thing about the scene is that it’s Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman,” Snyder says of the scene and its significance. “It’s Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together.”
He continues, “The scene explains why Bruce had the Joker card taped to his gun that you see in ‘Batman v Superman’,” which suggests Batman’s sidekick Robin’s death at the hands of Joker. While noting that there won’t be another Batman film by him, Snyder says he always wanted to show “how they became like this … how he hurt him in a way that no one has, really. Other than losing his parents, it was probably the most significant personal injury to his life.”
“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is set to be released on HBO Max on March 18.

Zack Snyder Teases Jared Leto's New Look as Joker in His Version of 'Justice League'

    Warner Bros. Pictures

Taking to Twitter to hype up the anticipation for the upcoming HBO Max movie, the director shares a new photo of ‘The Snyder Cut’ that gives a look at the Batman villain.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto’s Joker gets a new look in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”. Hyping up the anticipation for his highly-demanded version of the superhero ensemble film, Zack Snyder has taken to Twitter to share a new photo that teases the return of the Batman villain in the upcoming HBO Max movie.
Though blurry, the picture posted on Tuesday, February 2 hints at Joker’s different look. It seems that Leto’s character sports longer locks, compared to his slicked-back gangster look in “Suicide Squad”. He also seems to wear vinyl glove that gives off a surgical or serial killer vibe as he holds a Joker card.
“Amazing character you created. Honored to have our worlds collide @DavidAyerMovies @JaredLeto,” Snyder captioned the image while appearing to praise “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer and the actor, Leto, as he tagged both of them.

Zack Snyder teases Jared Leto’s new look as Joker in ‘The Snyder Cut’.
Leto reprises his role as Joker, which he debuted in 2016’s “Suicide Squad”, for “The Snyder Cut”, which is Snyder’s version of 2017’s “Justice League”. The actor recently shared his experience of revisiting the character and working with the filmmaker.

“Zack Snyder is a warrior, he’s a madman. I really love him,” Leto told Jake Hamilton on his “Jake’s Takes” show. “With every character I play, I don’t know if it’s because I work so intently and tend to dig really deep and put a lot of time and energy into them, when I’m done playing a part I do miss them a little bit.”
Comparing his performance as Joker to his role as Sparma in “The Little Things”, he continued sharing, “Parts like Joker and Sparma, what’s really great about those roles is they can be intense and dark but there’s also a lot of freedom and abandon there.”
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman added, “It’s fun for me, it’s fun for the other actors, it’s fun for the crew, and with both of those roles there was lots of laughter on the set and a lot of joy because you would improvise and say something really funny. It’s always a lot of fun when you can hear people cracking up on the other side of the camera and I like that quite a bit.”
“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” will also include new scenes of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg and Ezra Miller’s The Flash. Amber Heard and Joe Manganiello are also added to the cast to reprise their roles as Mera and Deathstroke respectively.
The movie is scheduled to be released March 18 on HBO Max.

Jared Leto Gets Candid About Hesitancy to Play Villain in 'The Little Things'

    HBO Max

Taking on the role of suspected serial killer Albert Sparma in John Lee Hancock’s new movie, the ‘Suicide Squad’ actor reveals he has since found an interesting part of playing the character.

    Feb 1, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto originally turned down “The Little Things” because he didn’t want to play another villain.
The 49-year-old actor admitted he was initially hesitant to take on the role of suspected serial killer Albert Sparma in John Lee Hancock’s new movie but the director convinced him that the character would be fully rounded.
He told The Hollywood Reporter, “Well, my first thought was to say no. I wasn’t sure about playing a murder suspect or potential villain again. But after talking to John, there seemed to be an amazing opportunity. If we could make this heavy on character and make this a really transformative role, I could be interested in having this be the last walk on the dark side of the moon, but only if we could really push it as far as possible. He was open to that and excited. So I just went to town.”
“With this, I really wanted to see how complete of a character, from head to toe, from the way that I carried my feet to the way that I spoke – I really wanted to push the boundaries a bit to see how far we could walk toward that line without crossing it.”

      See also…

And the “Suicide Squad” star enjoyed playing a complicated character like Sparma.
He said, “That was an interesting part of it. Not only do we have the script, but we have to write the script underneath the script. How does Albert Sparma know where to be? How does he have this information? Is he guilty? Is he not? All of these big questions that we had to kind of create a logic board for, which we did.”
“But the physical part of it … The voice was a big key into the character, developing the walk, the research and conversations with criminology experts. I examined FBI transcripts and interrogations. It was quite intense, quite heavy, but really fascinating. For a bit – it starts to take its toll after a while.”
“The Little Things”, also starring Denzel Washington and Rami Malek, is in cinemas and streaming on HBO Max.

Jared Leto Says His Oscar's 'Magically' Disappeared Three Years Ago

    WENN/Dave Bedrosian

The ‘Morbius’ actor believes he misplaced the prize, which he nabbed for his performance in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’, when he moved to a new home in Los Angeles.

    Jan 28, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto has lost track of one of his most-prized possessions. The actor/musician revealed that he has not seen his Oscar, which he won in 2014, since three years ago and his search for it turned to no avail.
The 30 Seconds to Mars vocalist got candid about the unknown whereabouts of his golden statuette during an interview on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on Tuesday night, January 26. Appearing virtually to promote his new movie “The Little Things”, he told the host, “I found out that it’s been missing for three years,” Leto, 49, told James Corden. “I didn’t know that – I don’t think anyone wanted to tell me.”
Leto confided that he might have lost it when he moved to a new house in Los Angeles, California. “But I had moved houses in L.A. and then when we moved, it somehow just magically kind of disappeared,” he shared to James Corden. “It could be somewhere, but everyone’s searched for it high and low.”

The 49-year-old, however, remains hopeful of its existence, saying, “I hope it’s in good hands wherever it is. We haven’t seen it for quite some time.” When asked if he thought someone had taken it, Leto responded, “I think it’s a good possibility, it’s not something someone accidentally throws in the trash.”
Though he may never be able to see the Oscar again, Leto doesn’t have any regret as he has made quite some memories with it. “I remember the night I got it, I passed it around to so many people,” he said of bringing the prize to an after-party after winning it. “It was beat up and scratched up, but people had fun taking pictures with it. It’s nice to share it so hopefully, someone is taking good care of it.”

Leto nabbed the Best Supporting Actor title at the 86th Academy Awards for his role as a transgender woman in “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013). The movie earned five other nominations and won two of them, including Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Best Makeup and Hairstyling for Adruitha Lee and Robin Mathews.

Jared Leto Almost Signed Billie Eilish After Being Wowed by Her Performance

    WENN

The 30 Seconds to Mars lead vocalist claims he almost took the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker and her brother Finneas under his wing when they were still unknown artists.

    Jan 28, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto came close to signing Billie Eilish and her brother and collaborator Finneas when they were unknown artists after inviting them to perform at an intimate dinner party.
The “Suicide Squad” star recalls originally meeting the siblings through his married pals, film producer Emma Ludbrook and agent Tom Windish, and then recruiting the young musicians to play for guests including Leonardo DiCaprio.
“They weren’t signed, and I thought that maybe I would try and sign them, they were so incredibly talented and just special people,” he told America’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden”. “The music is one thing, but I think they’re just incredibly intelligent, really empathetic, just really good people, and I quite like them a lot.”
Leto reveals the duo, which has since soared to pop superstardom, left his celebrity pals in awe after performing at his Los Angeles home.

“At one point, they played at my house,” he said. “I had a little dinner for, like, 12 people and I said, ‘Hey, will you guys come and play a couple of songs?’ And they were, like, ‘Yeah, sure.’ ”
“They showed up… and played the most heartbreakingly beautiful music… It shouldn’t have sounded that good; it was impossible that it sounded that good.”
“I remember Leo DiCaprio was there and a couple of other people and they were just, like, ‘How did you find these people and, like, who are they?’ Everyone was just jaws on the floor, 12 people max at my place…”
Leto, who also performs with his band 30 Seconds to Mars, didn’t explain why he never ended up signing Eilish and Finneas, but added, “(They’re) just great people. I’m huge fans, too.”

  • Jared Leto Returns as Joker for Zack Snyder's 'Justice League' Cut

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The actor playing Batman’s supervillain in the 2017 movie has joined in the shooting of additional footage for the ‘Snyder Cut’, which will be released on HBO Max.

    Oct 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto is back as Joker for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”. The actor will reprise his role as Batman’s arch-nemesis in the filmmaker’s version of the DC-Warner Bros. superhero movie, after he was forced to exit in 2017 during post-production due to a family tragedy.
Leto has now been called back by Synder and joined Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher as well as Amber Heard for the shooting of additional footage of what is dubbed the “Snyder Cut”. It is unknown, though, how big his role will be in the film.
Leto was previously reported upset with Warner Bros. when the studio tapped Joaquin Phoenix for the title role in standalone Joker film. Both the actor and the studio, however, were apparently able to smooth things over and allow for his return for Snyder’s version of “Justice League”.
And getting back into the role might not be that hard for the “American Psycho” star as he has been maintaining his buffed physique lately. On the same day news of his Joker return broke, he shared a thirst trap for “hump day” while urging people to vote.

The selfie saw the 48-year-old actor/singer almost naked while taking the picture with his cellphone. Focusing on his ripped chest, he cropped out most of his face in the image, but it can be seen that he currently doesn’t sport full facial hair which he has grown in the past. “Happy hump day,” he wrote in the caption, adding, “P.S. Don’t forget to vote.”

Back to “Justice League”, Synder was replaced by Joss Whedon, who oversaw reshoots and post-production, after his exit. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Whedon’s cut had an underwhelming performance at box office, grossing a total of $657.9 million worldwide against an estimated break-even point of as much as $750 million.
Fans then demanded Synder’s cut be released, with Affleck and Gal Gadot supporting the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign. In May of this year, Snyder announced that he’s working to complete his version of the movie, which will cost over $20-$30 million for the special effects, musical score and editing.
It will be released as a four-part miniseries in 2021, with each installment being an hour long, followed by a version that will combine the episodes into a four-hour long film. Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa are also reportedly returning for reshoots.

    WENN

The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ actor confirms the long-rumored Warhol role while paying tribute to the late artist on what would have been his 92nd birthday on social media.
    Aug 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto has confirmed he is to play Andy Warhol in an upcoming biopic – four years after he was first rumoured to be taking on the role.
The Joker star took to Instagram on Thursday (06Aug20) to mark what would have been the late artist’s birthday, sharing numerous pictures of him and writing alongside them, “We miss you and your genius. Yes it’s true I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film. And so grateful and excited about the opportunity.”
    “Happy birthday Andy,” he concluded.
Jared gave no further details about the upcoming “Warhol” biopic. However, back in 2016 it was reported that Jared had signed on to play Warhol as well as produce the biopic alongside “Captain Phillips” ‘ Michael De Luca. “The Wolf of Wall Street” ‘s Terence Winter was due to write the screenplay for the film, which was to be based on Victor Bockris’ 1989 book, “Warhol: The Biography”.
It’s unclear whether or not this is the same project. However, Jared and De Luca purchased the rights to Bockris’ book some years ago.

Jared Leto Channels Joe Exotic When Hosting 'Tiger King' Viewing Party

    Instagram

Virtually watching the Netflix documentary series with fans, the Suicide Squad actor dons a reflective gold shirt with purple floral print accent and holds a stuffed toy lion.
    Mar 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto paid homage to the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic, as he hosted a virtual viewing party of the Netflix documentary series online.
The actor, 48, channelled the zoo owner and felon in a reflective gold shirt with purple floral print accent, a wide-brimmed straw hat, and red track pants, as he took to his Twitter account (https://twitter.com/JaredLeto) on Thursday, March 26, night to watch the show with fans.
Jared, who also held a stuffed toy lion, had advertised the session with fans on Instagram earlier in the day, and took to the platform to document his thoughts as he watched the seven-part documentary.
“Wow. Mind blown again – end of episode one. Masterful direction and great job to all involved with the production!!!” he gushed.
While the “Suicide Squad” star is clearly a fan of the show, the actor/singer also clarified his stance on keeping exotic cats as pets.
“For the record no one should keep these animals in cages like this. Not ok. We need to protect exotic/endangered animals and their wild habitats,” he tweeted, while also tagging the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).

Jared Leto clarified his stance on keeping exotic cats as pets.
Released earlier this month on Netflix, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” follows the exploits of Joe, who ran a popular illegal zoo.
And while fans have taken to social media to rave over the show, Cardi B found the length of the series too much to handle in one sitting.
“What ya think bout TigerKing?” she tweeted. “I’m on the second episode and I’m a little lost cause I started f**king.”

Cardi B weighed in on the series.
Following the success of the show, it was revealed “Saturday Night Live” regular Kate McKinnon is spearheading a new series, in which she’ll portray Joe’s bitter rival and Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin, while Dax Shepard has expressed interest in playing Joe.
