Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, James Corden Slam D.C. Rioters in Monologues

    WENN

The U.S. late-night show hosts deliver passionate monologues to condemn President Donald Trump after his angry supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in a bid to overturn the election results.

    Jan 8, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel led the U.S. late night TV hosts condemning the actions of Washington D.C. protesters as “terrorism” on Wednesday (06Jan21).
Fallon ditched his usual jokes in favour of a moving opening statement blasting the attack on the Capitol building, which was stormed by supporters of Donald Trump in a bid to overturn the election results.
Hitting out at the “bad leadership” of the President, he said, “This is what happens when there’s no peaceful transition of power and what happens when there’s bad leadership. This is not how you lose.”
The star insisted his grandfather, a veteran, would have been “disgusted” if he was still alive, adding, “Today was not patriotism. Today was terrorism.”
The talk show host went on to praise President-elect Joe Biden for his comments calling for an end to the violence and insisted that, ultimately, “good will prevail.”
“Today was a disgrace. Today was disappointing. But sadly, today was not a surprise,” concluded Fallon. “But it’s important to remember that this is not who we are. I assure you there are more good people than there are bad, and good will prevail.”

Fellow talk show host Kimmel blamed “incompetent” Trump for inciting the “angry mob,” telling viewers on his show, “The President of the United States – because he is too angry, too insecure and too incompetent to deal with the fact that he lost an election, a fair election, an election that was no different than any other election, an election he lost by seven million votes and 70 electors – turns an angry mob against members of Congress and his own Vice President.”

“Not to mention endangering the Capitol police, those blue lives he claims matter so much to him.”

Seth Meyers also spoke out on the day’s events and blasted the outgoing POTUS for his much-derided video message urging the protesters to stand down while still repeating his claims the election had been “stolen” and telling the rioters he “loved” them.
He said on his show, “What we saw today was a violent insurgency, an attempt to overthrow the legitimately elected government of the United States and it was incited, directed, and encouraged by the present, Donald Trump and more than a few members of the Republican Party and right-wing media.”
“As we were all watching these stunning scenes of violence and sedition, of insurrection against our democracy, anxiously hoping for a restoration of calm and order, the President of the United States told the traitors and the mob, ‘We love you, you’re very special. I know how you feel.’ And he does. He knows how they feel because he’s spent four years telling them in great and odious detail how they should feel.”

“So we can be shocked but we can’t be surprised. The president wanted this. He directed it, supported it, he incited it, and encouraged it.”

After condemning the actions of a “crazy, sad day,” James Corden urged viewers of his programme to hold on to “hope,” assuring that, “In two weeks on those same steps where that mob fought and pushed past the police, the people who encouraged and instigated that violence – Donald Trump, his children, Rudy Giuliani – they’re all going to need a tourist pass to get in, because they’ve lost the presidency, they’ve lost the House, and now they’ve lost the Senate… So, if you can, have hope.”

Dolly Parton's Regret for Jimmy Fallon Is the Reason Behind Collaborative Christmas Song

    WENN/Judy Eddy

Back in October, the country music queen joined forces with the late night host to record a cover of Mariah Carey classic ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ for ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas,’

    Dec 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Dolly Parton has comedian Jimmy Fallon to thank for kickstarting work on her new holiday album, because she always regretted turning down the opportunity to sing with the funnyman years ago.
The country music queen recruited the U.S. late night host to record a cover of Mariah Carey classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for “A Holly Dolly Christmas”, and it was only after hitting the studio together that Parton decided to make it into a full duets project.
“I didn’t think about doing a bunch of duets at the start,” she confessed.
“When I was on (‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’) a couple of years ago around the holiday season, he had asked me if I would sing with him, Mariah Carey’s song… and I didn’t know it good enough to sing it, and I didn’t want to mess it up, so of course I said no… and it really bothered me.”

After teaming up with Fallon, Parton called on pals including Willie Nelson, Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Buble, and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus to get into the festive spirit with her.
“Then I got to thinking, ‘Well, maybe I’ll get all these other guys to sing with me’,” she continued.
“It was just one of those perfect storms, where everything fell like it was supposed to.”
Released in October, the song opens with Dolly aksing Jimmy, “Hey, Jimmy. I don’t know how to say this without sounding all mushy and romantic.” Later, Jimmy is heard replying, “I kinda like mushy and romantic.” She then responds, “You do?” she responds, to which he says, “Yeah, especially this time of year.”

  • Jimmy Fallon Freaks Out Over Dolly Parton Duet of Mariah Carey's Christmas Song Cover

    WENN/Dave Starbuck

Invited to work with the country music legend for her first festive album in 30 years, the late night talk show host thought he would have to sing along to ‘All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth’.

    Oct 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Comedian Jimmy Fallon was sweating recording a cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” with Dolly Parton, because a mix-up left him memorising the lyrics for a completely different holiday tune.
The late night talk show host was invited to work with the country music legend for her first festive album in 30 years, “A Holly Dolly Christmas”, but Fallon initially thought Parton wanted him to sing along to the novelty tune “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” – instead of the Carey classic.
“Dolly Parton’s people called me and they said, ‘Would you like to do a duet with Dolly Parton?'” he recalled on U.S. breakfast show “Today”. “I go, ‘Of course..!'”
“They wanna do All I Want for Christmas. I go, ‘I got that! ‘All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth…'”
However, Fallon soon learned that wasn’t the tune Parton had in mind – and then panicked as he realised he would never be able to hit the high notes for the iconic 1994 holiday hit.
“Two weeks before we record it, I got the words; it’s ‘All I want for Christmas Is You’ – the Mariah Carey song,” he shared.

“I go, ‘Oh no, we have a big problem. I can’t sing this! It’s Mariah Carey, no one can sing that song, it’s not even a duet!'”
“They go, ‘Well, let’s try it, we think we can make it work.’ I was sweating in the (recording) booth… Veins were coming out of my head trying to hit notes…”

Despite his concerns, Fallon admits the finished product isn’t bad at all: “It’s crazy. They have a great producer, it turned out awesome.”
Fallon is still in disbelief at sharing the recording booth with Parton, and now he hints they are preparing to perform the tune live for the first time at the New York City Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony this December.
“We’re doing something for the Christmas Tree Lighting, me and Dolly,” he teased.
Fallon isn’t the only celebrity to join Parton for a song on “A Holly Dolly Christmas” – she also recruited Willie Nelson, Michael Buble, and goddaughter Miley Cyrus for the project.

    Jul 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jimmy Fallon is back in the studio! The TV host made his return to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” studio at 30 Rockefeller Center after months of hosting the show from home due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In the emotional episode, Fallon greeted his viewers, “As you can see, we’re back in the studio at 30 Rockefeller Plaza here in New York City. And as a New Yorker, I want to say thank you to everyone who helped get us to where we are now, wearing masks, social distancing, washing hands, quarantining, it all helps.”
“And to all the states going through the tough parts right now, our friends in Florida, Arizona, Texas, California, all over the South, I know how hard it is and I’m not gonna lie to you–it’s rough,” he added. “But I guess, I’m here to show you that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel if we all do our part to keep each other safe.”
“I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but normalcy, any type of normalcy, feels great,” Fallon continued, getting a bit choked up as he addressed viewers. “So hopefully we can put a smile on your face for an hour every night and let you sit back and relax while we try to bring you a little bit of normal.”
“The show will be a little bit different than what you’re used to,” he went on to explain. “There is no audience, the guests will be streaming from home, but I think, in some ways, we are getting used different. So we are here for you and slowly and safely getting back to work and back to whatever normal is. Welcome again to ‘The Tonight Show’, and thanks for watching.”

I’m at phase zero on dating,” the governor opened up. “There’s no duration on phase zero, there is no automatic time to go to phase one you could stay at phase zero for months! I think New York City will be fully re-opened before I get out of phase zero on dating.”

RuPaul Takes Shots at Jimmy Fallon on New Song 'I'm That B***h' for Calling Him Drag Queen

    WENN/Judy Eddy

His diss is a reference to his viral ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ appearance on which he playfully corrected Jimmy for calling him the first drag queen to grace Vanity Fair’s cover.
    Feb 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – RuPaul is apparently not done messing up with Jimmy Fallon over the latter’s near-fatal blunder. Weeks after his playful correction at “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” host’s “Drag Queen” reference became viral, the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” host released a new song titled “I’m That B***h” that took a shot at the comedian again.
A 1-minute preview of the diss track, which was obtained by Entertainment Weekly, hears RuPaul rapping about Fallon’s unintentional offensive remarks. “Had to almost cancel Jimmy, put him in a bodybag. He called me a drag queen? B***h, I’m the queen of drag!” the Emmy Awards winner spits. “In case you forgot, let me remind you that I, I, I’m that b***h!”
“I’m that B***h” was written by the 59-year-old TV personality along with music collaborator Leland, Freddy Scott and Tom Campbell. It will be made available for streaming and download on Friday, February 28 after the Season 12 premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. A cast-assisted version of this song will also debut on the premiere night.

RuPaul and Fallon made headlines earlier this February when he stopped by for an interview aired on February 6. At one point of their chat, Fallon brought up the topic of RuPaul being the first “Drag Queen” to land on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. To Fallon’s surprise, RuPaul snapped at his reference, exclaiming in return, “A drag queen? A drag queen? I am the queen of drag!”

The awkward moment has since gone viral with Fallon weighing on his slip up less than a week later. “I really thought it was over,” he confessed on his late night talk show. ” ‘That’s it. I’m canceled, I have to start up my own #JimmyFallonIsOverParty.’ I had a good run, you know, 10 years in the business… I was like ‘wait what did I do wrong?!’ ” He added, “My thanks to RuPaul, we love you. That was a very funny moment.”
