Taking to her Twitter account, the ‘Gangsta’ singer announces that the music video for her single ‘Can I’, which features the Canadian rapper, will be released tomorrow, but with a twist.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kehlani is making a measurement in the wake of drama surrounding Tory Lanez. The “Good Thing” singer took to her Twitter account to announce that the music video for her single “Can I”, which features the Canadian rapper, would be released tomorrow, but with a twist.
“CAN I. tomorrow 10 am pst. #HoneyShotProductuons #ItWasGoodUntilItWasnt,” so she said on Wednesday, July 29. In a separate tweet, she revealed that Tory wouldn’t appear in the clip for the song off her “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” album.
“Full transparency cuz i believe in that with my following, his verse is still on the song, the video is solo. new verse on the deluxe,” the “Gangsta” singer added explained without dropping any names. “The album came out months ago i can’t remove it , doesn’t work like that. can only move forward.”

Tory was initially arrested and charged for possession of a firearm after he was pulled over by police on that fateful day. He is currently under investigation as police believe he pulled the trigger and injured his rumored girlfriend and fellow hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion. He remains mum on the allegations.
Meanwhile, on Monday, July 27, Megan got emotional on Instagram Live as she revealed that she got shot in both feet in the July 12, shooting incident. “I had to get surgery. It was super scary. It was just the worst experience of my life and it’s not funny,” she admitted, slamming people who made a joke about her shooting.
The “Savage” hitmaker was relieved because the bullets “didn’t touch the bones. They didn’t break tendons,” adding, “I know my mama and daddy, my granny had to be looking out for me with that one because where the bullets hit at, it missed everything, but the motherf***er was in there.”

  • Lil Nas X and Kehlani: Blackout Tuesday Is Dangerous for Black Lives Matter Movement

    WENN

The ”Old Town Road’ hitmaker and the ‘You Know Wassup’ singer agree that the Blackout Tuesday campaign by the music industry is dangerous because it could hinder the real Black Lives Matter activism.
    Jun 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lil Nas X and Kehlani have criticised the music industry’s Blackout Tuesday campaign protesting the murder of George Floyd as a distraction from real activism.
Acts including Rihanna and The Rolling Stones are halting social media promotions on Tuesday, Jun 2, 2020 to join the protests against police brutality and racism that have swept the U.S. since Floyd died when Minnesota policeman Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for eight minutes during an arrest last week.
Record executives, including chiefs at Nas’ label Columbia Records have also backed the campaign – but the “Old Town Road” hitmaker disagrees, calling it “the worst idea ever” in a tweet.
The 21-year-old rapper went on to write that it would have been a better idea for stars and labels to share activist messages and information.
“It’s information that needs to be spread! the movement needs to be pushed forward! not silenced for a day,” he wrote. “I just really think this is the time to push as hard as ever. i don’t think the movement has ever been this powerful. we don’t need to slow it down by posting nothing. we need to spread info and be as loud as ever.”
Making his own suggestion, he added, “Not tryna be announcing but what if we posted donation and petitions links on instagram all at the same time instead of pitch black images,” before expressing fear the blackout images would take over social media hashtags used to discuss the protests.
Kehlani also criticised the campaign as costing companies nothing and co-opting the original #TheShowMustBePaused initiative started by two black women, Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang.
“Tuesdays not a big deal,” she tweeted. “no releases should come out at all for the week s**t maybe for the month. and if they do, these companies need to pledge to giving the Black artists who release ALL THE MONEY MADE FROM IT (sic). f**k it.”

While stuck inside due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ‘Gangsta’ singer makes use of her own crib and wardrobe to film the music video for her latest single.
    Mar 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kehlani has steamed up the Internet with her brand new music video. Around a week after announcing she was unable to complete a follow-up to her 2017 debut album because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the “Good Life” hitmaker unleashed a seductive promo for her latest single “Toxic”.
In the “Quarantine Style” video released on Wednesday, March 25, the 24-year-old singer locks herself in her room and shows off her twerking skills. She smokes and poses seductively in a number of different outfits, including fishnet apparel, silky robes and lingerie, as colorful LED lights offer more sensual vibe to the clip.
“I was this way for you/ Put the p***y away for you/ Thinkin’ I would wait for you,” the Grammy Award nominee sings while filming herself using what seems to be a computer camera. “And now that damn Julio made me a fool for you/ And now I might hit your phone up/ With that ra-ra-ra, missin’ my da-da-da.”
Prior to the release of this video, Kehlani teased her fans with a snippet through her social media page. Explaining the behind-the-scene story of how she made it, she wrote in an Instagram post, “i was red wine drunk tonight and locked myself in my room for an hour never edited a video before s/o iMovie on the Mac.”

In another post, the “Gangsta” songstress named Hyphy Williams as the director of the sultry clip. She added in the caption, “ToxicChallenge goin up cuz social distancing got y’all in the house bussin s**t too… whats your favorite part of the video?”

This music video for “Toxic” came just days after Kehlani revealed that COVID-19 hampered her work on her upcoming album. Taking to her Twitter account, she noted, “To be transparent, I had a release date. We’re unable to complete any of our plans or move forward with the album at the moment due to the pandemic.” She added, “Not thinking about music at the moment, focused on how to just be a good citizen to society at this time.”

Kehlani Lashes Out at Joe Budden for Criticizing Her Over New Breakup Song

    Instagram

The ‘Valentine’s Day (Shameful)’ singer calls the rapper-turned-podcaster ‘a joke’ and his comments ‘disgusting’ following his criticisms on the track that alluded to her relationship with YG.
    Feb 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kehlani was furious at Joe Budden. She clapped back at the rapper-turned-podcaster for criticizing her after listening to her new track “Valentine’s Day (Shameful)” which reportedly addressed her breakup with YG. “Joe Budden is a joke,” she tweeted.
In his podcast, Joe made this comment about her new song, “I feel like I’ve been hoodwinked.” He added, “Cause it was just last week we came on this podcast [and] Rory made me listen to a YG and Kehlani song [Konclusions]. … I was with this new image of YG being in love.”
He continued, “[‘Valentine’s Day’ is] unlike any Kehlani record I’ve ever heard,” before calling her out, “She really wants us to know how much of a piece of s**t YG is, but she’s hiding behind the thin veil of I’m not telling you guys who I’m talking about.”
He admitted the song was good, “The f**ked up part is she’s smoking this s**t. And she stepped on that n***a’s single,” but he was less than impressed with Kehlani for picking apart YG, “Chicks don’t care what they step on when they’re in a rage. They don’t care what they ruin.”
Kehlani responded, describing Joe’s comments as “disgusting.” She also dissed him for using her photo to promote his podcast on social media, “The amount of misinformation and lies and lameness in this episode about me and you used my face is … lol gotta love it.”

Joe replied, “We love you, it’s jokes… feel better.” He later added, “I’m bout sick of you artists… never a peep through years of praise but wanna jump outta windows when you hear something you don’t like… newsflash, i am not friends with you n***as.”
