AceShowbiz – Kelly Rowland’s newborn son has made his music video debut in the promo for his mum’s new single, “Black Magic”.
The R&B star gave birth to Noah Jon, her second child with husband Tim Weatherspoon, on 21 January (21), and now he has joined his big brother Titan, six, in the visuals for the singer’s latest track, which dropped on Friday (12Feb21).

Discussing the song, Kelly says, “Black Magic expresses everything there is to feel confident, feel proud of, feel encouraged by being Black.”
“I am really excited that it’s coming now, which is in the thick of Black History Month. To me, I feel like we should be celebrating 365 days a year from what we’ve been through to what we continue to fight for when it comes to equal rights, and justice.”
“To me this is a fight song,” she adds. “We’re continuing to put our magic forth so that we can put it on display for others to continue to see, even when they don’t want to see it. But I think they can’t help but see it because Black magic is effortless.”

Kelly Rowland Storms Off 'The Voice Australia' Following Spat With Guy Sebastian

    Channel 9

The Destiny’s Child singer is furious at her fellow judge in another row for trying to force her to pick an act that he liked when his team was already full.
    Jun 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Rowland’s feud with fellow “The Voice Australia” judge Guy Sebastian reached new heights on Sunday, June 21, 2020 when she stormed off the set during a row with the singer.
A week after the Destiny’s Child star attacked Sebastian on the TV talent show for trying to force her to pick an act he liked when his team for the series was full, she accused Guy of losing his mind before getting out of her spinning red chair and walking away.
The row started when 39-year-old Kelly called Guy “unfair” for asking Mongolian throat singer Bukhu Ganburged and Johnny Manuel to perform Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” together.
Fellow judge Delta Goodrem also criticised Sebastian, saying the tune suited Manuel’s vocals but not his fellow contestant’s.
“You chose a song where Bukhu is only backing up,” Kelly raged. “Right now we are in a battle and it is about giving a song that is fair to both artists. That’s it.”
“I just want to make great moments,” he shot back. “I don’t care about the battle element. I care about both of you (Buku and Johnny) shining.”
As the argument escalated on the show, Kelly walked off the stage, stating, “I just feel like this is becoming redundant and I’m not going to do this.”
Guy refused to back down, adding, ” ‘Cause a walk-off does heaps. What are you going to do? What’s a walk-off going to do? That’s so disrespectful.”
The show ended and Kelly and Guy are expected to battle on TV again on Monday night’s “The Voice” episode.

Kelly Rowland Blames Album Delay on Her Own Incompetence

    WENN

The former Destiny’s Child member admits she’s inept at using music software so she’s not as productive as she wanted to be during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.
    May 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – R&B star Kelly Rowland has had to put her plans to make new music in lockdown on hold because she has no idea how to record her own vocals.
The “Motivation” hitmaker admits her time in coronavirus isolation so far hasn’t been as productive as she would have liked because she’s reliant on her engineer to help lay down tracks professionally.
“I wish that I would have learned how to work Pro Tools (audio programme),” she laments to The Associated Press.
“I think now, it makes you definitely want to learn… I heard Ariana Grande does it. I heard Trey Songz does it. So many different artists are like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to do that over,’ and they’re operating their own sessions.”
“I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I learn how to do that?’ That’s probably my next goal is to learn how to record myself because I could have gotten so many things done. I’ve been sent songs since being quarantined (sic) and I’m literally waiting for my engineer to come out of his quarantine.”
Kelly, who recently debuted her new single, “Coffee”, has been hard at work on her first solo album since 2013 and she insists the project is close to completion, even if the COVID-19 outbreak has made the process “a little more challenging to navigate.”
“I have at least one more record to do,” she shares. “In my gut, I feel like I have like one more record to do.”
But she assures fans the follow-up to “Talk a Good Game” will drop before the end of 2020. “Definitely this year. I’m not waiting anymore. I’m not wasting anymore time. I’m doing it this year,” she declares.
Kelly is currently an independent artist although she has a new management home in Roc Nation – the label founded by rap mogul Jay-Z, who is married to her best friend and Destiny’s Child bandmate, Beyonce Knowles.
“It’s family and it just happened,” she says of signing with Roc Nation officials to manage her career. “It just really happened to work and it’s working out really well so far.”
“My team, I have a great team. It’s not to say I didn’t have a great team before, I had a great team before. You evolve, you move on and that’s really it and Roc Nation is home now.”
Kelly joins a roster which already boasts Mariah Carey, Big Sean, Megan Thee Stallion, and Nick Jonas as Roc Nation management clients.

Kelly Rowland Shows Off Her Hot Bod in 'Coffee' Music Video

The Destiny’s Child singer is unapologetic as she embraces her imperfections and celebrates women with ‘every shade, every coffee colour, every curve, every essence.’
    Apr 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Rowland is urging women to stop seeking the approval of others in her new single “Coffee”.
The former Destiny’s Child star dropped the new track on Friday, April 17, 2020, and in its video the hitmaker, 39, flaunts her impressive, taut body, as she empowers women to be unapologetic.
Discussing the concept behind the visual, Kelly told Essence, “I want to celebrate the women in video – every shade, every coffee colour, every curve, every essence and what they gave me.”
    [embedded content]
“My intention I set for the video was to take the light in yourself and your sexuality (and put it in) a God perspective, in a way where you don’t have to get any approval from anybody else.”
“Sometimes when women stand in our own sexuality, without approval from any external source, I think that there comes a different perspective, a different outlook, a different feeling, and usually we don’t even realise we’re doing it,” she added. “But I think society has kind of made it that way, especially with the Black woman.”
“Coffee” is the first tune to be taken from Kelly’s upcoming fifth studio album – her first since 2013’s “Talk a Good Game”.

Chance the Rapper and Kelly Rowland to Lead BET Covid-19 Relief Fundraiser

    WENN/Instar

The TV special is dubbed ‘Saving Our Selves: A BET Covid-19 Relief Effort’ to raise funds to aid the black community amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
    Apr 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chance the Rapper, DJ Khaled, and Kelly Rowland are set to take part in a U.S. TV special aimed at raising coronavirus relief funds to aid the black community.
As reports suggest people of colour are among those hardest hit by the outbreak, bosses at the BET network have unveiled plans for “Saving Our Selves: A BET Covid-19 Relief Effort”, which Rowland will co-host remotely with actors Regina Hall and Terrence J.
Other guests booked to make virtual appearances include singers Charlie Wilson, Kirk Franklin, and Fantasia Barrino.
Scott Mills, President of BET, writes in a statement, “The COVID-19 pandemic is savagely compounding the profound health and financial vulnerabilities many Black Americans face. Every day, there are new reports of how this pandemic is killing African-Americans at much higher rates than other communities.”
“BET is using all of our resources – our capital, our media platforms, our relationships with the creative community, sponsors, businesses and charitable organizations to support our community in this time of crisis.”
The charity special, organised in partnership with officials at community non-profit United Way Worldwide, will air at 8 P.M. EST on April 22, 2020 and raise funds for organisations providing help and support for African-American communities severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It won’t be the first star-studded coronavirus relief fundraiser to hit TV screens – Elton John hosted the iHeart Living Room Concert For America on March 29, 2020, raising more than $8 million for the charities Feeding America and the First Responders Children’s Foundation.
The virtual pop festival featured at-home performances from Elton, Mariah Carey, the Backstreet Boys, and Tim McGraw among others.
Meanwhile, Lady GaGa is curating One World: Together at Home, a big concert special arranged in partnership with officials from Global Citizen and the World Health Organisation.
It is set to be broadcast worldwide on April 18, 2020, when Paul McCartney, Elton John, Chris Martin, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, and Keith Urban will be among the artists making guest appearances.
