AceShowbiz – MSNBC came under fire after their white reporter Alison Morris seemingly blurted out the N-word when covering Kobe Bryant’s tragic death. She described the NBA legend as “the kind of star that was perfectly cast on the Los Angeles N****** — Los Angeles Lakers.”
Rumor has it, the network has a 15-second delay to edit the racial slur but the footage was released uncensored. “WTF! How can you even get to that word from anything?!” one exclaimed. “There’s a lot of news reporters and journalists that need firing tonight.”
Alison quickly took to Twitter to apologize, insisting she never said the N-word. “Earlier today, while reporting on the tragic news of Kobe Bryant’s passing, I unfortunately stuttered on air, combining the names of the Knicks and the Lakers to say ‘Nakers.’ Please know I did not & would NEVER use a racist term. I apologize for the confusion this caused,” she wrote.
However, many people were skeptical of her explanation. “I listened to the clip SEVERAL times and you said the N word with a HARD G. So no we dont believe you,” one commented. Another added, “Ma’am you did not say Nakers.” A third person agreed, “She KNOWS she said the wrong thing cause after the fact she started talking a mile a minute.. smh.”
Kobe Bryant passed away in a helicopter crash Sunday morning, January 26 in Calabasas. His 13-year-old daughter Gianna also died. They were en route to the Mamba Academy for her basketball practice. One of her teammates and another parent also perished as no one on board survived.
Kobe Bryant was 41. He was survived by his wife Vanessa and their three other daughters, Natalia, Bianca, and baby Capri who was born in June 2019.
Just hours before his death, Kobe congratulated fellow basketballer LeBron James as the latter climbed up to the third rank on the NBA all-time leading scorer, replacing Kobe who was moved down to the fourth spot. “Passed the torch right before his passing,” a fan commented.
