Liam and Noel Gallagher Spark Oasis Biopic Rumor as They Launch Movie Production Firm

    WENN

The estranged brothers and former Oasis bandmates have apparently buried the hatchet as they secretly formed a movie production company, sparking rumors about upcoming biopic.

    Mar 18, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Liam and Noel Gallagher have launched a movie production firm.

The former Oasis bandmates and estranged siblings have secretly registered a new joint company called Kosmic Kyte on Companies House, which is for “motion picture production activities,” Britain’s The Sun newspaper reports.

It’s now rumoured that the rival brothers, who have been at loggerheads ever since Oasis split following a backstage bust-up between the pair at their final concert in Paris in 2009, could be eyeing up a biopic following the success of Sir Elton John’s “Rocketman” and the Freddie Mercury film, “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

No further information is known at this time, however, the Britpop group’s former frontman, Liam, has taken to Twitter to address the news, teasing, “There gonna put in the movies there gonna make a big star out of me c’mon you know LG x. (sic)”

The 48-year-old rocker – who often uses Twitter to insult Noel – previously joked that Rowan Atkinson’s alter ego Mr Bean would be a good choice to play his brother in a film about the “Stand by Me” band while he’d love to see “Notting Hill” star Rhys Ifans portray himself.

He said, “Mr Bean for Noel, because he’s annoying, isn’t he? You just want to punch his f**king head in. Rhys Ifans for me.”

Liam took to the micro-blogging this week to declare himself the only frontman of Oasis in a dig at his 53-year-old sibling.

He wrote, “Only time there was ever 2 front men in oasis was when my shadow was lit up by the lights THE END. (sic)”

Fans are hopeful that an Oasis reunion will happen one day, though Noel has been adamant that no amount of money would persuade him to get back on stage with his arch-nemesis brother.

In the meantime, Oasis fans have an upcoming biopic about Creation Records boss Alan McGee – who signed the “Supersonic” hitmakers – to look forward to.

“Trainspotting” star Ewen Bremner plays the music mogul in “Creation Stories”, which “tells the unforgettable tale of infamous Creation Records label head Alan McGee; and of how one written-off young Glaswegian upstart rose to irrevocably change the face of British culture.”

The film is released on 20 March (21).

  • Liam Gallagher Inspired This Band to Reunite and Make New Album

    Instagram

Dan Wilson credits the Oasis musician for his reunion with Semisonic bandmates as they are gearing up for the release of their new music after nearly two decades.
    Sep 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Liam Gallagher inspired Semisonic frontman Dan Wilson to reunite his band – by turning down his songwriting efforts.
The “Secret Smile” hitmakers split in 2001, reuniting in 2017 for some small shows to mark the 20th anniversary of their first album, “Great Divide” – and have now formally got back together to release their first new music in 19 years on their new EP, “You’re Not Alone”.
After leaving Semisonic, Wilson carved out a career as a songwriter for other artists, and reveals that a meeting with Gallagher about writing for him inspired the reunion – even though none of his efforts made it on to the ex-Oasis rocker’s record.
“I had this great meeting with Liam,” he tells Music Week magazine. “I’ve always been a huge admirer of his, and his band. We had this really interesting meeting, we talked about music, we talked about the possibility of me writing some songs and to see what it would be like for him to sing a song that I wrote.”

“I was pretty inspired by the talk. And so I gave it a shot. Two weeks later I sent a bunch of songs to him and his manager and they wrote back and said, ‘Oh, whoops, the album’s actually done, sorry, but next time!’ and that was, cool. That was fine.”
Although the tracks did not make the cut, they rekindled Wilson’s desire to play in a band – inspiring him to reunite his old group.
“One of the songs in particular, which Semisonic didn’t end up using, but I kept thinking, ‘This doesn’t sound like Liam Gallagher at all, this sounds like Semisonic,’ ” he explains. “I think it was like a kickstart or kind of a cheat sheet. It probably put me back in a mindset I was in in 1998, like, ‘Oh, that’s the flavor – that’s what the band was like. That’s what it felt like to play rock with a band!’ ”
“You’re Not Alone” is out Friday (18Sep20).

    Jun 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Liam Gallagher’s “MTV Unplugged” live record is the U.K.’s new number one album.
The MTV Unplugged performance, which was recorded live at Hull City Hall in England last August 2019, tops Friday’s Official Charts Company rundown to become the first live record to do so since George Michael’s “Symphonica” in March 2014.
Celebrating the news, Liam tells OfficialCharts.com, “Nobody told me there’d be days like these, strange days indeed. Most peculiar mama. 3 number 1 albums in 3 years… not bad for an unsophisticated parka monkey. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.”

At two is Lady GaGa’s “Chromatica”, with Lewis Capaldi’s “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent” rising one place to three. In fourth spot is Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia”, and Harry Styles’ “Fine Line” completes the top five.
In the singles chart, DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar” makes it five non-consecutive weeks at number one, once again beating Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me” into second place.
At three is S1mba and DTG’s “Rover”, with German DJ Topic and Swedish singer A7S’ “Breaking Me” in fourth spot. Completing the top five is AJ Tracey and Mostack’s “Dinner Guest”.

Liam Gallagher Blasts Mark Lanegan Over Claim He Left Oasis Tour Due to Their Altercation

    WENN

Through his tell-all memoir, the former frontman of Screaming Trees brands the ‘Wall of Glass’ singer ‘an obvious poser’ for bailing on the 1996 tour after he stood up to the latter’s bullying.
    May 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Liam Gallagher has slammed American rocker Mark Lanegan for alleging he quit Oasis’ 1996 U.S. tour after an altercation.
The Screaming Trees musician’s band was a support act for the group during the infamously troubled trek, which was marred by cancelled gigs and Liam pulling out of one leg altogether.
According to Mark’s tell-all memoir detailing his rock career and troubles with addiction, the “Wall of Glass” singer bailed on the tour after the American rocker stood up to his bullying – but Liam has denied his version of events in typically robust terms.
He tweeted, “Mark lannegn (sic) here’s how I saw it I asked you your bands name I was f**king around and called it something else you being an upiight (sic) junkie and not having a sense of humour got your little grungy knickers in a twist another bullshitter trying to sell a book LG x.”

Liam Gallagher blasts Mark Lanegan over claim about their tour.
According to British newspaper The Sun, Mark wrote in his book, “I detested bullies and refused to put up with them. Liam Gallagher was an obvious poser, a playground bully.”
“Like all bullies, he was also a total p***y. He had quit and bailed before I could have a go at him before his promised playground battle royale in Miami.”
“Typical, I thought. That phoney motherf**ker had p**sed his pants and gone home to mama before I had a chance to blow this whole thing up myself.”
Detailing their altercation, the “Bed of Roses” hitmaker wrote, “He came up to where we were sitting, ‘Howling Branches,’ he shouted. I realised he was addressing me and attempting a weak joke with the over-the-top intensity of a put-down. F**k off, you stupid f**king idiot,’ was my brief, blase retort.”
