AceShowbiz – Madonna has teamed up with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody to pen the story of her life for a big screen biopic.
Madonna will direct and produce the film, and also lead the search for a young unknown who will portray her.
The movie, which Madonna has teased may be called “Live to Tell”, will chronicle the pop superstar’s rise from unknown New York dancer to chart-topper.
“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” Madonna said in a statement. “The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive.”
“There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”
Madonna’s production partner on the project, Amy Pascal, adds, “This movie is an absolute labour of love for me. • Madonna Hints on Secret Film Project With Diablo Cody

    WENN

The ‘Like a Prayer’ hitmaker has shared a black-and-white video of her discussing points from her decades-long career with the ‘Juno’ screenwriter who types away on a laptop.
    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Madonna is headed behind the camera as she teased a new project with screenwriter Diablo Cody.
The singer and actress, who won the Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy prize at the 1997 Golden Globe Awards for her performance in “Evita”, teased she’s reviving her film career, alongside Cody – best known for her Oscar-winning 2007 movie script for “Juno”.
Taking to Instagram, the hitmaker shared a black-and-white video, showing her sitting on the couch as the writer types away on a laptop.
“When you’re stuck in a house with multiple injuries what do you do? Write a screenplay with Diablo Cody about…” she captioned the post, alongside a string of emojis relating to film and music.
While the star didn’t reveal any further details, fans began to speculate the pair was working on a biopic project, as the two discussed points from Madonna’s decades-long career, as they sat in front of a table covered in carefully laid out journals and notebooks.
“The garters were over the suit bottoms, right?” Cody asked Madonna in the video, referring to a particular look from her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour.
“Yeah,” Madonna answered. “Straight pin-striped pants sit beneath the corset, it’s cut high-waisted on the leg, the garters come down here, cone bra zipped up the front and then the double-breasted suit coat goes over it.”

The new project comes amid reports Madonna is set to sign an eight-figure deal to return to Warner Records, where she began her career, after splitting with Interscope following the release of her “Madame X” album last year (19).

    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Madonna is reportedly set to return to Warner Records with a new, eight-figure deal on the table.
According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the “Material Girl” star, who quit Warner in 2011 to ink a three-album deal with Interscope, is now in search of a new label and is plotting to return to the company which launched her career in the ’80s.
A music insider said, “Madonna is still a force to be reckoned with. The fact is, she sells records, people around the world adore her and every label would love to have her on their books.”
“Now that her deal with Interscope has come to an end, she is a free agent and can choose where to go next – and Warner feels like the best place given their history,” they explained.
“But Madonna comes at a hefty price. She can command big money and wants to make sure whatever deal she signs is the best thing for her and her music.”
The star is set for a return to the charts with the release of her new single “Levitating”, with Dua Lipa and Missy Elliott – both of whom are signed to Warner – on Friday (14Aug20).

AceShowbiz – Madonna has been forced to scrap an upcoming show in France due to the country’s coronavirus lockdown.
French officials have banned any public gathering of more than 1,000 people – and that means the pop superstar’s March 10 and 11 concerts at Paris’ Le Grand Rex can’t go ahead as planned.

Madonna Angers Fans Over Three Hour Delay to 'Madame X Paris' Show

    Instagram

The ‘Medellin’ singer has reportedly completed her February 22 concert at 2:15 A.M. the next day after the production was hit with ‘unforeseen technical problems.’
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Madonna’s “Madame X” Show in Paris, France was delayed by three hours on Saturday, February 22, after the production was hit with “unforeseen technical problems.”
The “Vogue” hitmaker is currently in the midst of a 12-night residency at the city’s Le Grand Rex venue, but was three hours late when she took the stage this weekend due to production issues.
According to French site RTL, a technician claimed the performance was delayed due to certain decorations for the tour not being compatible with the concert’s venue.
The publication also reported the show eventually ended at 2:15 A.M. on Sunday morning, leaving many of the 2,800 fans in attendance struggling to travel home.
Disgruntled fans took to social media, insisting the “Medellin” star did not perform until midnight, when she was due to hit the stage more than three hours earlier.

“How could you be more disrespectful to your fans? Several shows cancelled without any reasons (we still had to pay for our plane tickets to go to Paris, thank you very much) and now you start your show 4 hours late… Your behaviour is a shame! You shouldn’t sing anymore…” wrote one user.

“Does @Madonna know that her fans have a life, are parents who have their children babysat to come and see her?” wrote another fan, while a third added, “Three hours late is unacceptable for a queen like you. We have schedules to respect in Paris.”

The “Madame X Tour” has proved problematic for the star, with Madonna cancelling shows in cities including New York, Los Angeles and London earlier on in the tour, which kicked off in September (2019).
The final show takes place on March 11.
