    Feb 23, 2021

Others urged Meek to just apologize over his disrespectful lyrics. “Just apologize tf!” one person commented with someone else asking, “So he not gonna apologize to her?” Echoing the sentiment, another person chimed in, “Man just admit you’re wrong.” Another person accused Meek of playing victim, writing, “I hate when ppl play victim.”
His tweets arrived after Vanessa confronted Meek on Instagram earlier that day. “Dear @meekmill , I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period,” so she wrote. “I am familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
In the said track, Meek raps, “Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.” Following the initial backlash, he defended himself as he wrote on Thursday, February 18, “somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it…. y’all internet antics cannot stop me ….s**t like zombie land or something! Lol. They paying to influence y’all now … its almost like mind control ‘wake up.’ ” He also shared a picture of a hat with Kobe and Gianna’s names on it, seemingly trying to show that he’s a fan of the late NBA legend.

AceShowbiz – Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa Bryant has broken her silence on Meek Mill’s controversial lyric about her late husband. Feeling offended by the rapper’s reference to the helicopter crash that killed the former NBA star and one of their daughters, the mother of four called out the Dream Chasers Records founder for his lack of “respect and tact.”
Vanessa posted on her Instagram Story on Monday, February 22 Meek’s line in his unreleased collaboration with Lil Baby that she found “insensitive and disrespectful.” It read, “Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”
The 38-year-old widow expressed her feelings below the lyric, writing, “Dear @meekmill , I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this.”

6ix9ine Trolls Meek Mill by Inserting Video of Their Confrontation in 'ZAZA' Music Video

    [embedded content]

The ‘GOOBA’ rapper uses his music video as an opportunity to troll the ‘All Eyes on You’ spitter by putting a clip of them being engaged in a verbal fight while dissing fellow rapper Lil Durk in his rap.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Leave it to Tekashi69 (6ix9ine) when it comes to trolling. On Friday, February 19, the “GOOBA” rapper released a music video for his track “ZAZA” and he used that as an opportunity to troll foe Meek Mill in the music video, on which he dissed fellow rapper Lil Durk.
Taking subliminal shots at Durk, who lost his friend King Von in shooting accident last year, Tekashi raps, “You ain’t killed s**t, you let your man’s die.” He continues, “They killed your cousin and your man and you still ain’t do s**t.”
As for the music video, it is such a colorful one. The notorious online troll is seen enjoying a party with bikini-clad women who flaunt their derriere while having fun inside the pool. He also throws money at strippers and dancers.
The fun, however, suprisingly gets interrupted briefly as the scene cuts to footage from his and Meek’s confrontation outside a club in Miami earlier this month. The clip sees the “TROLLS” rapper screaming at Meek.

He then raps, “Are you dumb? When you see me, you better run/ You got your gun? They caught that n***a lackin’ like a b***h/ They killed your cousin and your man and you still ain’t do s**t.”
Tekashi took to his Instagram account to share a clip from the the music video. In the caption, he taunted Meek, “ALL THESE RAPPERS GOT MY NAME IN THEY MOUTH BUT WHEN THEY ME IN REAL LIFE THEY GOT EVERY EXCUSE IN THE WORLD. I KNOW! ZAZA. THE KING IS F***ING BACKKKKKKKKKK !!!!!”

Meek previously shared that Tekashi was planning to ambush him as he waited for him outside the club. “The headline should be: he waited outside a restaurant and popped up with the cops recording with his phone out! He tried to line me up to go to jail!” Meek tweeted after the showdown.
He went on detailing, “We did not run into eachother I was getting in my car he just popped out ….we almost was smoking on that 69 pack for the love of a viral moment ….. he tryna get something locked up no cap lol Why did he pick meeeee wtf lol. Then he said a Pooh shiesty bar to me wtf. I’m a real witness to that lol.”

    WENN/FayesVision/Avalon

Defending himself for making a reference to the helicopter crash that killed the NBA legend in his song, he blames social media users who make ‘a narrative’ against him.

    Feb 19, 2021
AceShowbiz – Meek Mill has spoken up after he came under fire for making a reference to Kobe Bryant’s tragic death in his yet-to-be-released song. The Philly rapper made use of his Twitter account defend himself after he became a trending topic on the platform for the wrong reason.
Showing no remorse for the controversial lyric in his upcoming collaboration with Lil Baby, the “Tupac Back” spitter blamed critics’ “antics” for making “a narrative” against him. “somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it…. y’all internet antics cannot stop me ….s**t like zombie land or something! Lol,” he wrote on Thursday, February 18.
The 33-year-old star went on comparing the backlash to “mind control” as he wrote in a separate tweet, “They paying to influence y’all now … its almost like mind control ‘wake up.’ ”

Meek Mill responded to backlash over Kobe Bryant lyric.

On Wednesday, a snippet surfaced online of Meek’s song featuring Baby in which he makes a reference to Kobe’s helicopter crash. “And if I ever lack I’m going out with my choppa it be another Kobe/ S**t I can tell they ain’t never know me,” he raps in the snippet.
Baby also makes a reference to the former Los Angeles Lakers star. “I damn near wanna have a son so I can name him Kobe,” he spits in his part, but it’s Meek’s part which offended social media users to the point they’re dragging the “Ima Boss” emcee.
“Absolutely not. Wth,” one reacted to the snippet. Another expressed his/her anger on Twitter as writing, “This is f**king disgusting.” A third critic slammed for the “Tupac Back” emcee, “Meek a f**king clown smh.”
A fourth one agreed, adding, “Nah this ain’t it, at all.” Another reacted in disbelief, “Meek Mill said what about Kobe.. going out with your chopper?!” Someone else called him out for being “disrespectful” with the lyrics, tweeting, “F**k Meek Mill really disrespectful. Idgaf what anyone thinks.”

Also putting Meek on blast was Wack 100, who previously engaged in a back-and-forth with the rapper over his run-in with Tekashi a.k.a. 6ix9ine. “Some metaphors SHOULD not be used .. Pretenders struggle to pretend when it’s not authentic – 1 man don’t speak for #Philli -Rip #Kobe&GIGI,” the music producer weighed in on the lyric while posting a picture of the late NBA star and his daughter Gianna, who was also killed in the helicopter accident.

Kobe Bryant's Fans Fuming Over Meek Mill's Lyrics Referencing Helicopter Crash

    WENN/Avalon/Instar

Twitter drags the ‘Tupac Back’ rapper after a snippet surfaces online of his upcoming collaboration with Lil Baby, in which he raps about the late NBA legend.

    Feb 18, 2021
AceShowbiz – Meek Mill’s attempt to commemorate Kobe Bryant in one of his songs completely falls flat. The Philly rapper has enraged both music fans and devotees of the late NBA legend with lyrics in his yet-to-be-released song.
On Wednesday, February 17, a snippet surfaced online on a fan page, previewing his upcoming collaboration with Lil Baby. In part of the track, the “Ima Boss” spitter is heard rapping, “And if I ever lack I’m going out with my choppa it be another Kobe/ S**t I can tell they ain’t never know me.”

Baby also makes a reference to the former Los Angeles Lakers star. “I damn near wanna have a son so I can name him Kobe,” he spits in his part, but it’s Meek’s part which has irritated social media users to the point they’re dragging the 33-year-old star.

Meek has not responded to the backlash over his song’s snippet. Weeks ago, he teased a collaboration with Baby and Lil Durk, but it’s unclear if the snippet in question is from the same track.
Kobe died in a helicopter crash that also killed 8 others, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, on January 26, 2020. He was 41 years old. On the first anniversary of his passing last month, the NBA barely made any mention about the former professional basketball player’s death, reportedly because they honored his widow Vanessa Bryant’s request for the organization to withhold any tributes to him this year.

    Dec 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk are developing their own music platform.
The 33-year-old star has teamed up with his fellow rap stars to build their own digital streaming service as a new platform that will support artists with the hope of maximising “black wealth.”
Meek made the announcement on Twitter whilst seeking a third party to build the platform, writing, “Me lil baby Durkio tryna get somebody in Silicon Valley to build us our own music platform we can be majority owner in! He added, “Respectfully to Spotify too we get millions with them one of my biggest platforms I sell on! We need their help too… but we gone build something where we can maximize black wealth and we not gone fail by any means ‘we got a real backing behind us’ let’s get it.”
“We not even trying to build the same thing as Spotify …tidal … apple we wanna build a platform/tool and connect it with those big big companies and eat and build up some billion dollar sh*t! If you a big rapper that sale a lot and got a lot of influence rap in for (percentage) (sic).”

  • Meek Mill's Commitment to Acting Debut Put Under Spotlight by 'Charm City Kings' Director

    WENN/Instar

Angel Manuel Soto points out why he believes the ‘Going Bad’ rapper was able to relate to the story, while producer Caleeb Pinkett notes the importance of the MC’s music to the dirt bike culture film.
    Sep 29, 2020

Rapper Meek Mill will make his major acting debut in a new movie all about the urban dirt bike scene in Baltimore, Maryland.
“Charm City Kings” director Angel Manuel Soto and producer Caleeb Pinkett snapped up the “All Eyes on You” hitmaker as soon as he was released from prison in 2018 after serving time for violating probation, and also sold the hip-hop star on providing music for the film.
“He came back and adapted really well to the realities of the character,” the filmmaker tells WENN. “His struggles and challenges helped the performance and the whole film, because of his commitment to the story. Meek totally delivered. That also speaks to the genius of Caleeb in seeing potential in someone who never acted before.”

“The character of Blax could have been played many different ways, but we were able to construct the character a bit based on what Meek has gone through. Blax wants to do better and prove himself after doing bad stuff, and I think that speaks to Meek too, and how he can relate to the story. He taps into something deep inside himself and delivers a phenomenal performance.”
Pinkett adds, “Because Meek has a past, and because of the things he’s been through, he’s perfect for the film, since he represents that world. Meek really does ride, and he makes the music for that culture. In many ways, casting Meek Mill in this film is like what John Singleton did in 1991 by casting Ice Cube as the character Doughboy in ‘Boyz n the Hood’. Ice Cube was the biggest gangsta rapper in the world at that time, so his very presence made that film authentic.”
The producer insists Meek’s music was also a big part of the film. “The music for this movie has to be the music of the streets,” he explains. “The music is another part of this film that elicits emotion. Swizz Beatz, and now Meek Mill, made the music that is so crucial to this culture. Swizz of course created the sound for the dirt bike culture back in 1998, producing DMX’s song “Ruff Ryders Anthem”. I put that song at the end of the movie over the sequence of real riders doing stunts, because that’s what started it all. And now, Meek Mill is the new voice of that culture.”

  • 6ix9ine Trolls Meek Mill After New Song Fails to Chart High on Billboard Hot 100

    Instagram

The ‘GOOBA’ hitmaker is revisiting his previous claim that the Philadelphia rapper and Future can only chart high when Drake is featured on their tracks.
    Jun 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine clearly has a lot of time to think of others’ businesses while he remains under house arrest. The New York City artist recently debuted his new collaboration with Nicki Minaj, but he posted about the commercial performance of Meek Mill’s new song “Other Side of America” instead on his Instagram account.
After the Philadelphia star’s new track debuted at No. 64 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, the “FEFE” hitmaker did not miss the chance to clown his enemy. Revisiting his last week’s claim that both Meek and Future can only chart high when Drake is featured on their tracks, he commented on the news about Meek’s new song, “This what happens to bums when they don’t have Drake to carry them on they song.” The post has since been deleted from his page, though.
During his Instagram Live while promoting “TROLLZ” with Nicki last week, 6ix9ine talked about the effect Drake has got on helping Meek and Future rank high on Billboard charts. He also accused the Dream Chasers Records founder of hanging with snitches.
“I don’t got no animosity toward Desiree,” the 24-year-old said. “Meek Mill, you’re first. So Desiree Perez, she is an executive at Roc Nation. She’s an executive at Roc Nation. Desiree Perez was arrested and is a Roc Nation executive who works with Meek Mill. You see Meek Mill right here with Desiree Perez. She is part of their prison reform with Jay-Z at Roc Nation. She is a executive at Roc Nation, but then you go saying we don’t f**k with rats. Your executive is a rat.”
His social media feuds with fellow rappers aside, 6ix9ine aims to have his new song debuting at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, after he failed to do so with his first post-prison track “GOOBA”. “We going #1,” so he posted on Tuesday, June 16. “Nothing will stop me. You can’t cheat me. Blackballed don’t work for me. Im to big of a star.”

He added in the caption, “IM GOING TO SHOW YOU THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES OF HIP HOP.. BE A LEADER NEVER A FOLLOWER IM TO BIG OF A SUPERSTAR … THEY WANTED ME TO FALLOFF SINCE 2017 IM STILL HERE 3 YEARS LATER MAKING THE MOST NOISE !! !! !! !! !! !! AND I THANK THE BEST FANBASE IN THE WORLD.”
