The ‘Glee’ actress confirms her impending exit from the Bravo reality TV series, announcing that she won’t be returning to the show for the upcoming 13th season.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Glee” star Nene Leakes is handing in her “Real Housewives” key after 10 seasons on the franchise’s hit Atlanta, Georgia show.
The series favourite has announced she will not be returning to the show for its upcoming 13th season.
“I have been on an extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation,” she told fans via her YouTube channel on Thursday (17Sep20). “There’s been a lot of emotion flying from both sides. It has been hard, and I have made the very hard and very difficult decision to not be a part of Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13. It wasn’t an easy decision for me. It was hard.”
It’s not the first time Nene has stepped away from the show – she wasn’t part of the eighth and ninth seasons, but returned for season 10.
Leakes helped launch the show in 2008.
“I’m just so happy that I can say that I was a part of a genre that opened up doors for black ensemble reality shows,” she said.
A spokesperson for Bravo, the network behind all the Real Housewives shows, says, “We wish NeNe all the best in her future endeavours and thank her for sharing her journey for over a decade with the fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She’s been instrumental since the start and will truly be missed.”
She’s not the only big name to depart the franchise – earlier this month, Denise Richards announced she would be leaving “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after two seasons.

  • NeNe Leakes Further Fuels Rumors She Won't Return for 'RHOA' Season 13 by Removing Instagram

    WENN

In a new interview, NeNe’s ‘RHOA’ co-star and friend Cynthia Bailey admits that she has not ‘seen her’ and has no idea about her contract status for the upcoming season.
    Aug 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – NeNe Leakes has shocked fans after it’s revealed that she has deleted her Instagram account. The move appears to further fuel speculations that she will not be returning for season 13 of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”.
Fans noticed that the reality TV star’s account on the photo-sharing platform was disappeared as of Tuesday, August 25 without warning or explanation. However, her Twitter account was still up.
Prior to deleting her Instagram account, NeNe wrote on the blue bird app, “Support Black Women, Protect Black Women! You have no idea what they’ve been thru or the WEIGHT they have carried on their backs silently for yearsssssssssss. Thank you! Bye.”
In an interview with Us Weekly, her co-star and friend Cynthia Bailey admits that NeNe has been MIA. “I haven’t seen her,” the Bailey Wine Cellar owner said on Monday. “I know she’s dealing with some contract stuff. That’s not my business. I hope they work all that out.”
“I always will say, whether we’re besties or not, she’s great for the show,” she went on to say while promoting the Seagram’s Escapes Peach Bellini flavor she created. “She’s been around … since the beginning of the show, and she’s good TV, and I hope they work through it. And, you know, Bravo’s always publicly said, ‘She always has a home here.’ They’ve always been supportive of whatever she wanted.”
Prior to this, it was reported that “the ladies are a little annoyed that NeNe hasn’t signed her contract yet. They feel she does this every year and puts herself on this pedestal and they just roll their eyes a bit over it.” Despite that, it was said that the cast, who has started filming, was “not surprised.”
NeNe herself previously opened up about the state of the negotiations regarding her return to the upcoming season. “So, I’m still on holding pattern, let me start there. And also I’d be able to say that it’s not me, it’s them,” NeNe explained. “Every single season when it ends, or at least the last 3 or 4 seasons, I have been dealing with this-going back and forth.”

  • 'RHOA': NeNe Leakes Says She's Still in Negotiations for Season 13

    Instagram

The 52-year-old insists that the whole process takes so long because of the Bravo show’s production team, saying, ‘I know a lot of people think it’s me. … that’s not NeNe.’
    Jul 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – NeNe Leakes has addressed rumors swirling about her for some weeks in a new Instagram Live. During the live streaming, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star opened up about her status for season 13 of the Bravo reality show.
She revealed that she’s still negotiating her contract with the network regarding her return to the upcoming season. “So, I’m still on holding pattern, let me start there. And also I’d be able to say that it’s not me, it’s them,” NeNe explained. “Every single season when it ends, or at least the last 3 or 4 seasons, I have been dealing with this-going back and forth.”
Once again, the 52-year-old insisted that the whole process took so long because of the show’s production team. “I know a lot of people think it’s me. ‘NeNe holds out to the last minute,’ ‘NeNe holding out,’ that’s not NeNe. NeNe is not doing that,” she said, adding that “negotiation takes time.”
She also talked about rumors that she allegedly calls herself the queen and the HBIC (Head B***h in Charge). “Well, I am a queen. … I’m going to continue to say I’m a queen, cause I am,” NeNe hit back. She went on to say that people should call co-star Porsha Williams the same since she “wanted the crown, I know she considered herself the queen.”

While NeNe’s status in season 13 remains uncertain, the new season will reportedly welcome two new faces, actress Drew Sidora and Canadian YouTube star LaToya Ali a.k.a. LaToya Forever. Drew will be the second actress to appear on the show after Kim Fields, who left the series after season 7 to prioritize her acting and directing career. Meanwhile, LaToya was first reported to join “RHOA” back in 2019.

NeNe Leakes Laughs Off Rumors of Her Being Fired From 'RHOA'

    Instagram

Speculations that NeNe is fired from the Bravo reality TV show start to circulate online after NeNe writes in a now-deleted tweet, ‘You are NOT going to get away with this! I promise.’
    Jun 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – NeNe Leakes has broken her silence on rumors about her being let go from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. The Bravo personality made use her social media accounts to laugh off the rumors.
In a Wednesday, June 17 post on Instagram, NeNe shared a meme of herself laughing which seemed to be serving as her response to the rumors. “I can’t chileeeeeeee,” so she wrote in the caption. She also tweeted several laughing emojis on her Twitter page.
While NeNe didn’t directly shut down the rumors, fans were hoping there wasn’t truth in the rumors. “I hope the rumors aren’t true. RHOA needs you,” a fan wrote in an Instagram comment. “Team Leakes she is the show,” another supportive fan added.
“And we know you not goin NOWHERE,” said one user. Meanwhile, someone else stated, “You’re face when the haters finds out you got that season 13 contract.”
Speculations that NeNe was fired from the Bravo reality TV show started to circulate online after NeNe wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “You are NOT going to get away with this! I promise.” That prompted people to think that the 52-year-old was permanently removed from the show.
Further fueling the rumors was famed blogger B. Scott who shared an exclusive report of NeNe’s alleged firing. The blogger claimed that the producers of the show didn’t ask NeNe to return for the next season. Additionally, the report said NeNe’s rep asked the blogger to take down the story but refused.
This arrives just one day after Eva Marcille announced her departure from “RHOA”. “I appreciate the bond of friendship that I have made with several of my cast mates and the strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers at the Bravo and Truly Entertainment companies,” she said in a statement.
Eva went on saying, “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided, however, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.”

NeNe Leakes Responds to 'Vanderpump Rules' Firing Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute

    Instagram

This arrives after Lisa Vanderpump takes to her Instagram account to issue a statement of her own, in which she condemns racism and unequal treatment among others.
    Jun 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – NeNe Leakes joins the list of Bravo personalities who weigh in on the firing of “Vanderpump Rules” stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, June 9, NeNe commented on the decision that the network made about Stassi and Kristen over their past racist behaviors.
“Well alrighty then!” NeNe wrote underneath Bravo’s post of a picture featuring its statement about it letting go Stassi, Kristen, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star went on to say, “Now we have a few more questions to ask about in other areas where there’s a major difference. Should we talk privately or publicly.”
In the comment section of the post, people dropped some names that Bravo should look into. “See also: Kelly Dodd, Brandi Redmond, Jax Taylor, Luann de Lesseps, Kathryn Dennis,” one person wrote. Echoing the sentiment, one other fan commented, “Remove Kelly & Jax too.”
Meanwhile, some others thought that firing Stassi and Kristen was a little bit too much. “This is a bit much. What they did was wrong yes. But it was all from years ago. The hate and cancel culture in this world lately is amazing! I think there’s more to the story with faith and to be honest her coming out with this now and not 2 years ago when it happens makes her look like she’s trying to get her next 15 min of fame,” one user said.
Calling it a “trash decision,” someone else blasted the network, “Jumping on a #blmbandwagon This took place long ago and until now it was ‘ok’ until it was cool to be ok. Not to mention they didn’t do this to [Faith Stowers] out of racism. They did it because of actions she took on the show. Not because she was black. Horrible decision as far as Stassi and Kristen. The boys said things also long ago. So actions take years ago can come back and haunt you only when there’s a movement?? And only then?! This is utter BS to ruin people’s lives over this.”
Prior to this, Lisa Vanderpump issued a statement condemning racism and unequal treatment among others. Making use of Instagram on Wednesday, June 10, the 59-year-old first explained that it was necessary for her to stay quiet until decisions had been made on the issues. Claiming that she now “can freely speak from the heart,” she then stated,” I love and adore our employees and I am deeply saddened by some of the lack of judgment that has been displayed.”
She further insisted that she has “always been an equal rights activist and ally,” before declaring, “I condemn all forms of cruelty, racism, homophobia, bigotry and unequal treatment. We’ve never tolerated it in the workplace or our lives.” She added that viewers “only see a fraction of our employees on the show.”
The firing of the four “Vanderpump Rules” stars came after former castmate Faith Stowers spoke out against Schoeder and Doute. In a chat with “Floribama Shore” star Candace Rice, Faith claimed that the pair reported her to the police for a crime she did not do just because she was a black woman. Both Stassi and Kristen have since issued an apology for their action.
