While the ‘Big Little Lies’ star will star in and executive produce the TV drama about the Price family, playwright Andrew Bovell is slated to rework the storyline for the screen.

    Oct 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nicole Kidman is adding to her slate of TV projects with an upcoming adaptation of the play “Things I Know To Be True”.
The actress will star in and executive produce the drama, which centres on the struggles of the Price family, and playwright Andrew Bovell, Kidman’s fellow Australian, will rework the storyline for the screen.
It has been given a series order by Amazon streaming bosses, and Kidman is excited to get started on the project.
“I’ll never forget the experience I had watching Andrew’s play in Sydney, having one of those transcendent theatre experiences,” Kidman said in a statement to Variety.

“Andrew’s play is exquisite and his scripts for the series are just as good. With Amazon’s belief, (head of Amazon Studios) Jen Salke’s guidance, and an extraordinary producing team, we have big hopes for what this can be.”
Added Bovell, “This is a story about family, that thing you spend your life trying to escape from only to yearn for what you’ve lost if you ever do.
“I’m thrilled that an actor of Nicole Kidman’s calibre leads the series in the role of Fran Price. As a mother and a woman she is complicated, difficult and utterly compelling. I’m also thrilled that a company of Amazon Studios’ significance has shown such confidence in the story and will take it to a global audience.”
“Things I Know to Be True” is the latest TV gig for Kidman. She has already found success on the small screen with the critically-acclaimed series “Big Little Lies”, based on the book by Liane Moriarty, while she is currently filming “Nine Perfect Strangers”, inspired by another of the author’s works.
The Oscar winner is additionally starring in new HBO drama “The Undoing”, another book-to-screen venture.

Earlier this month, Kidman shared she is keen to reunite with her “Big Little Lies” castmates, telling Marie Claire, “Reese and I talk or text once a week. She’s just moved back to Nashville and we’re really close. We all just want to work together again.”

Nicole Kidman and 'Nine Perfect Strangers' Co-Stars Quarantined for 2 Weeks Before Filming

    WENN

The cast and crew members of the new television series are facing strict coronavirus isolation rules in Australia before the production begins Down Under.
    Jul 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – The cast and crew of Nicole Kidman’s upcoming “Nine Perfect Strangers'” adaptation will be given regular coronavirus tests while confined to their Australian hotel rooms before filming begins on the TV drama.
Actor Luke Evans, who will co-star with Kidman and Melissa McCarthy, reveals everyone involved in the production will have to abide by the strict quarantine rules for two weeks before cameras start rolling, to ensure they are all free of COVID-19 after entering the country.
“We all have to be quarantined in a hotel room,” he explains on the upcoming episode of the Variety and iHeart podcast “The Big Ticket”.
“I can’t see anyone for two weeks. I have to be tested every other day. Everything is going to be delivered to my room and I have to stay in a room in Australia and not leave it for two weeks, just so that we can then be free to go and shoot something.”
The extra precautions are in line with advice issued by officials at the Australian Screen Production Industry, who have also suggested reducing possible exposure to the coronavirus by having castmembers dress themselves and fix their own hair and makeup, wherever possible, as film and TV projects start up again following a months-long shutdown.
It’s not clear exactly where or when “Nine Perfect Strangers” producers aim to begin shooting, but Evans’ comments emerge as the number of positive cases in certain states Down Under have started to spike once more.
The limited series, based on the book by “Big Little Lies” author Liane Moriarty, focuses on the clients of a high-end health and wellness retreat, run by Kidman’s character, Masha.
It is expected to debut on streaming service Hulu in 2021.

    Instagram

Speaking about the remake of the Alejandro Amenabar-directed horror movie, producer Renee Tab spills that its new themes correlate to what is happening with the coronavirus pandemic.
    Apr 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nicole Kidman’s period horror movie “The Others” is set for a modern retelling as the 20th anniversary of the film approaches.
The hit 2001 Alejandro Amenabar thriller centres on a widow and mother, who must be confined indoors due to a rare disease as an otherworldly force inhabits their home.
According to Deadline, the remake will be set in the present day.
“I am honored to be able to work on my favorite horror film of all time, ‘The Others’, and to bring this reimagining to the big screen for new audiences,” producer Renee Tab says in a statement, noting the parallels the story has with the coronavirus pandemic.
“It is almost eerie and uncanny how timely the themes are today: self-isolation, paranoia and fear, and of course the intense desire to protect our children and ourselves from harm.”
“We look forward to unraveling the layers behind lead character Grace, whose pain and demons draw viewers into a truly compassionate journey.”

Nicole Kidman Serves as Keith Urban's Roadie During Second Impromptu Livestream Concert

    Instagram

A week after teaming up with his actress wife for a mini-concert, the Days Go By hitmaker dedicates his second Instagram Live concert to ‘all the healthcare workers’ and all of ‘first responders out there.’
    Mar 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Keith Urban staged another impromptu livestream concert on Monday evening (March 23), and asked his wife, Nicole Kidman, to help him promote it.
The couple teamed up in the studio to perform a mini-concert last week (March 16), as musicians around the world began entertaining fans on lockdown with at-home gigs, and it appears they had so much fun, they wanted to do it again, dubbing the virtual show The Urban Underground.
“Everyone seemed to love the home gig last week, so we’re back again,” the barefoot actress said in a video message she posted on her husband’s Instagram Live account minutes before the concert went live. “Well not me, I’m just a roadie, a fan, an audience…”
Keith, who was strumming on a guitar next to his wife in their home studio, added, “Couldn’t do it without you, babe!”
Nicole quickly signed off by saying, “Thank you to everyone and have some fun”, but then stayed in the studio, dancing and singing along to her husband’s music.

The second Instagram Live concert aired on Urban’s account, @KeithUrban Instagram and he began the 30 minute show by dedicating the performance to “all the healthcare workers” and “all of you first responders out there” and adding, “We’re gonna try to bring a bit of sunshine into your screens wherever you are”.
True to her promise, Nicole handed Keith guitars – like “the best roadie in the world” – as he completed songs like “Never Comin’ Down”, “You Gonna Fly”, and new tune “God Whispered Your Name”, and even sat at his feed for part of the gig, during which the singer paid tribute to the late Kenny Rogers by performing the country legend’s signature tune The Gambler, with his actress wife providing backing vocals.
They weren’t the only ‘country’ couple teaming up to entertain fans online on Monday night – Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, staged a joint virtual jam session as part of Brooks’ weekly Facebook series, Inside Studio G.

The Brooks and Yearwood event appeared at www.facebook.com/GarthBrooks/.
Meanwhile, Diplo, Finn Wittrock and Vanessa Carlton are among the livestreaming highlights available on Tuesday, March 24.
Diplo and Ronatronix will team up for a DJ set, which will begin at 10 pm EST on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/diplo) and “Stranger Things” star Finn, who fronts new band The Aubreys, will host an at-home show on his Instagram Live account (https://www.instagram.com/finnwolfhardofficial) from 4pm EST.
Singer/songwriter Carlton will continue her daily show, during which she performs two songs, on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/vanessacarltonactual) from 6 pm EST.
Meanwhile, previous livestreamed Instagram and Instagram Live concerts staged by Miguel, Evanescence, Bastille, Jewel Kilcher, Rufus Wainwright, Juanes, and Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are archived and available to view.
