When one of her fans says on Instagram that s/he does not like the remix of ‘Mood Swings’, the ‘Girls Need Love’ songstress replies, ‘Nope, I’m not feeling it either.’
    Sep 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Summer Walker has recently released a new song, collaborating with Lil Tjay and Pop Smoke for the remix of “Mood Swings”. However, the R&B songstress apparently does not like the final result of the song even though she perfectly showcases her talent on the tune, which hit the stores on Friday, September 18.
On the song, Summer lends her voice in the first verse as she sings, “I don’t mean to tip, keep a tight grip on it/ That’s my d**k when I want it/ But, boy, you give me head/ Make me wanna treat you like a broke n***as/ Always end up with the wrong n****s.” She also croons over the smooth beat in the chorus with Smoke’s adlibs in the background.

Not everyone likes the song, with one directly commenting underneath Summer’s Instagram post about the song, “Am I the only one who don’t like it.” It turns out the said person wasn’t the only one because the “I’ll Kill You” singer replied, “Nope, I’m not feeling it either, on top of me not writing it, but I was asked twice to do a ft with him so I did.” She added, “Ima just take this L (on my end) but peace & love to him.”

The original version of “Mood Swings” is featured on Smoke’s first posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Mood”, which launched atop the Billboard 200 chart and kept a spot in the top 5 for 10 weeks straight. In addition to that, it got certified Platinum last month.
“Mood Swings” also received a visual treatment that was released in the same month it was certified Platinum. It featured Dylan and Dakota Gonzalez, as well as Jordyn Woods traveling across several colorful venues and locations.

  • DJ Clue Promises to Play Pop Smoke's Album After Getting Savagely Blasted by 50 Cent

    Instagram

The ‘In Da Club’ rapper says on his Instagram page that the radio personality refuses to play the slain rapper’s posthumous debut album because he didn’t get the record first.
    Jul 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Everyone was hyped over Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut album after it was released on Friday, July 3, but DJ Clue apparently wasn’t one of them. 50 Cent, who executive produced the record, learned about this and wasted no time to criticize the radio personality because he believed Clue didn’t want to play the slain rapper’s album because of a petty reason.
Not holding back at all, the “Power” alum began his post by calling Clue a “fool,” adding that he “got in his feelings, and said he not playing POP Smoke new joint because he didn’t get the record first.” He continued to write, “F**K YOU CLUE, @funkflex been kicking your a** up and down the street for years you little r****d. I done sold 30 million records you think I give a f**k if you play my music, is you dumb n***a?”
Fiddy went on saying that Clue should “get a punch in the face.” He elaborated, “I don’t know why, but I’m almost sure you gone get punched in the face. Nothing crazy just a lower case L You know the vibes n***a.”
Fiddy deleted his post afterward, but it looks like Clue had already read the post and took to his own account to announce that he’d be playing Pop Smoke’s album all day long on his radio. “We Repping For My Guy @Realpopsmoke All Day On @Power1051 . Including 9pm When I’m Playing The Entire Album Tune In Power1051Fm.Com or Download The @IheartRadio App & Stream It Live,” he said. “P.S.: We Didn’t Wake Up This Morning & Plan This.”

Clue didn’t drop any names in his post, but people were already convinced that the disk jockey changed his mind right after being called out by Fiddy.
Executive produced by Fiddy, “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” featured the likes of Tyga, Karol G, Quavo and Roddy Ricch among others.

  • Fans Not Satisfied With Pop Smoke's New Album Cover Art

    Instagram

Despite the cover, ‘Shoot For The Stars, Aim for the Moon’ successfully made fans emotional as one fan admits to ‘crying and vibin at the same time’ while listening to the rapper’s posthumous album.
    Jul 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pop Smoke’s posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” was finally released on Friday, July 3. While fans raved about the music on the most-awaited album, they cursed the newly design cover art, which previously drew controversy.
The head of Pop’s label Victor Victor Worldwide, Steven Victor, previously promised a change when fans criticized a botched Virgil Abloh design. Now, the final image featured a metallic rose with an all-black backdrop. Meanwhile, the parental advisory sticker was placed neatly at the bottom.
Although Steven heard fans’ outcry to replace Virgil’s initial design, the new one wasn’t enough to satisfy them. “people worked hard for GOOD COVERS and ya put this, smh,” one of them complained. Echoing the sentiment, one other added, “Out of all the raw covers I seen and they pick this.”
“after all those fan edits, controversial comments, and demands….THIS?!?” a frustrated fan commented. Meanwhile, someone noted that the new cover showed “no effort” but s/he would still listen to the album regardless.
People previously called out Virgil for his “lack of creativity” in making the cover art, with one commenting, “Wow look like the fair spray paint shirts. Issa a no. RIP Pop Smoke.” Another slammed the famed designer, “Virgil doesn’t keep anything 100. This is a 50%. Resubmit it for full credit, sir.”
An online petition was later launched against the Louis Vuitton designer as fans demanded a change on the album’s artwork, with the petition creator writing, “Virgil deada** was wild lazy with Pop Smokes Album cover and he needs to fix it.” One person who signed the petition shared, “I’m signing because this n***a Virgil is an artistic terrorist.” Another chimed in, “Never let this n***a touch a computer ever again.”
Back to the album, it successfully made fans emotional despite the cover. “Me listening to Pop Smoke realizing that this is it, they killed another legend, and we’ll never get a chance to see him perform these songs,” a fan mourned over the rising rapper who was shot to death in February.
Another fan added, “Popsmoke’s album has me vibing and emotional at the same time.” Someone also tweeted, “Pop smoke this album would have put you on top. You were just getting the clout u deserved. Gone too soon we love and miss you woo,” with one other admitting to “crying & vibin at the same time” while listening to the album.

  • Fans Voice Outrage Over Tyga's Feature on Pop Smoke’s Posthumous Album

    Instagram

One of the songs off the slain rapper’s posthumous debut album, ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon’, features the ‘Rack City’ rapper as well as Quavo of Migos.
    Jul 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” has just been released, but it has already been caught in another drama. This time around, fans of the slain rapper voiced their outrage and disappointment after learning that one of the songs off the album featured Tyga.
Tyga lent his voice on a track called “West Coast S**t” alongside Quavo of Migos. This apparently upset fans greatly that his name became a trending topic on social media. For instance, one user reacted, “Purchasing a Tyga feature should legally be recognized as an act of terrorism.” Someone else said, “Tyga shouldn’t have been on the song.”
“First of all why is Tyga a feature on pop album, I thought we left him in rack city,” one other expressed his/her confusion, referencing Tyga’s hit song. Some people were also convinced that if Pop Smoke was still alive, he would never allow the “Hookah” rapper be on his records. “OK this song with Tyga is a skip,” another made his/her decision, while an individual commented, “What could this n***a Tyga POSSIBLY have to say on a pop smoke album.”
Besides Tyga, the 19-track LP featured 50 Cent, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Karol G and more.

Prior to the album’s release, the record was caught in a drama as people criticized its cover art and called out Virgil Abloh for his “lack of creativity” in making the art. Defending himself, the Louis Vuitton designer claimed that the cover art was inspired by his last conversation with Pop Smoke.
“the last conversation i had with @realpopsmoke was about what we were gonna do in the future. this album cover was one of like 5 things we talked about,” he wrote in a now-deleted post along with the album cover. “he mentioned his story felt like the metaphor of a rose and thorns growing from concrete of of his hood in Canarsie, Brooklyn.”
“in your memory I just finished it yesterday,” the CEO of the Milan-based label Off-White went on sharing. “as evident of the whole idea, the t-shirt insinuates it’s mandatory we put an and to this cycle of violence that plagues us, we need to shoot for the moon & aim for the stars. as heavy is it is we are celebrating your life the whole way thru. rest in peace young one.”

50 Cent also weighed in on the cover art, suggesting that he had seen it before it was unveiled and never approved it. “Hey Virgil we need new album art, they ain’t going for this bulls**t. Many fans of the 20-year-old rapper, who was shot and killed in February, have deemed the 39-year-old artistic director of Louis Vuitton lazy over his designed artwork.
    Jul 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Virgil Abloh’s cover for Pop Smoke’s debut album is to be changed, after fans slammed the “lazy” artwork online.
The 39-year-old artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection unveiled the cover, a grayscale picture of Pop Smoke surrounded by diamond roses and barbed wire, on his Instagram page on Monday, June 29, in a post which has since been deleted.
Captioning the snap, he wrote: “the last conversation i had with @realpopsmoke was about what we were gonna do in the future. this album cover was one of like 5 things we talked about. He mentioned his story felt like the metaphor of a rose & thorns growing from the concrete of his hood in Canarsie, Brooklyn.”
“In your memory, I just finished it yesterday. As evidence of the whole idea, the t-shirt insinuates it’s mandatory we put an and (sic) to this cycle of violence that plagues us, we need to shoot for the moon & aim for the stars.”

However, many fans of the 20-year-old rapper, who was shot and killed in February, were quick to criticise Virgil for the image, with one remarking that the image used is the same as the first picture that comes up when Pop Smoke is image searched on Google.
“This is lazy. Pop Smoke deserves better,” another wrote.
Minutes later, a petition was created on Change.org to get the artwork changed, with the description reading: “Virgil deada** was wild lazy with Pop Smokes Album cover and he needs to fix it.”
And heeding the backlash, Steven Victor, the head of the Victor Victor Worldwide label that signed Smoke, tweeted that the album cover would be changed and will be ready for the July 3 release of “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”.

Steven Victor responded to backlash over Virgil Abloh’s cover design for Pop Smoke’s debut album.
“HEARD YOU,” he tweeted. “MAKING A CHANGE. POP WOULD LISTEN TO HIS FANS!”.
