Not always used in the right way… but still… heavy hitters.”

    20th Century Fox

Though the Mouse House has previously committed to make an R-rated ‘Deadpool 2’ sequel, the studio is reportedly still trying to push a PG-13 threequel on Reynolds.

    Mar 5, 2021
AceShowbiz – Ryan Reynolds and Disney have a fallout, if a new report to be trusted. The Canadian actor is allegedly not happy with the Mouse House for putting censorship on his planned upcoming project “Deadpool 3”.
According to GeekTyrant, a source who works on the Fox Studios lot says Reynolds has “had it with Disney and doesn’t want to have anything to do with them.” As for what has angered the Merc with the Mouth depicter, it is said that the husband of Blake Lively is tired of the Disney “censorship bulls**t.”
Though Disney previously announced that it has committed to make an R-rated “Deadpool 3”, the studio is reportedly still trying to push a PG-13 “Deadpool” movie and now Reynolds is reportedly saying “enough is enough.”

While neither Disney nor Reynolds has commented on the report of their supposed fallout, the site cites Popcorned Planet as another movie news platform which corroborates its story. It additionally reports that Reynolds’s Deadpool is supposed to “fill in the Stan Lee cameos in the Marvel movies from now on.”
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed in January that “Deadpool 3” would be an R-rated movie. “It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now,” he said in an interview with Collider.
Reynolds later joked that he duped Disney into giving the greenlight by showing the bosses other Marvel movies. “I showed them Spiderman 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2,” he tweeted at the time.
Later in the same month, he claimed that the threequel was supposed to be a road trip movie with Logan a.k.a. Wolverine. “Before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real,” he wrote on Twitter, referring to “Rashomon”, a 1950 Japanese psychological thriller/crime film directed by Akira Kurosawa.

Ryan Reynolds Flat-Out Denies Rumors of Green Lantern Cameo in Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The Canadian star makes it clear that he has no interest in reprising his role as Hal Jordan while responding to a speculation that his appearance is the big surprise in store for the Snyder Cut.

    Feb 23, 2021
AceShowbiz – Ryan Reynolds has shut down any hope of seeing him back as Green Lantern. The actor, who has several times poked fun at the commercial and critical failure of his 2011 DC movie, has flat-out denied rumors of his possible cameo as the green-costumed superhero in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”.
“It’s not me. But what a cool pirate flag to cameo as Hal. Maybe it’s another GL?” the Canadian hunk tweeted on Monday, February 22. Making it clear that he has no interest in reprising his role as Hal Jordan, he added, “But for me, the suit stays in the closet. I mean, computer.”

Ryan Reynolds responds to rumor of his Green Lantern cameo in ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’.
The speculation arose after Vanity Fair reported earlier on Monday that the ending of Zack Snyder’s cut of “Justice League” would include a major cameo. Fans then started suggesting that the big surprise in store could be Reynolds’ appearance as Hal Jordan.

Reynolds portrayed Hal Jordan a.k.a. Green Lantern in the 2011 film directed by Martin Campbell. The movie received mostly negative reviews from critics and underperformed at the box office, grossing $219 million against a production budget of $200 million.
Not a fan of the film either, the 44-year-old actor has mocked the movie over the years, even including jokes about it in his “Deadpool” films. Back in 2013, he expressed that he had “very little interest” in reprising the role in a “Justice League” movie.
“Working on ‘Green Lantern’, I saw how difficult it is make that concept palatable, and how confused it all can be when you don’t really know exactly where you’re going with it or you don’t really know how to access that world properly – that world comic book fans have been accessing for decades and falling in love with,” he explained at the time. “So at this point I have very little interest in joining that kind of world. But, you know, a great script and a good director can always turn that around.”
In his version of “Justice League”, Snyder filmed several minutes of new footage with Ben Affleck (Batman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Amber Heard (Mera). His cut will also include Joker (Jared Leto) and Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) scenes. It will be released as a four-hour movie on HBO Max on March 18.

Ryan Reynolds Jokes About Manipulating Disney Into Agreeing to 'Deadpool 3' R-Rating

    20th Century Fox

The Merc with the Mouth depicter has a ‘full disclosure’ moment after Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirms that the ‘Deadpool 2’ sequel will be part of MCU and rated R.

    Jan 12, 2021
AceShowbiz – Ryan Reynolds has spoken up after “Deadpool 3” is confirmed to be part of Marvel Cinematic Universe and have a R-rating. Deciding to get honest, the Canadian actor has admitted that he pulled some tricks in order to get Disney’s bosses greenlight the threequel.
In his true sarcastic and comedic fashion, the Merc with the Mouth depicter joked on Twitter on Monday, January 11 that in order to get approval for “Deadpool 3”, “I showed them Spiderman 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2.”

Ryan Reynolds joked about getting Disney’s approval for ‘Deadpool 3′ R-rating.
Reynolds also took to Instagram to respond to the news of “Deadpool 3” update. Revealing his idea for the upcoming movie’s storyline, he jokingly pitched a crossover with a beloved character of Disney’s classic children’s animation, Bambi, as he posted, “First order of business: Find the guy who killed Bambi’s mom.”

Feige answered fans’ long-burning question about “Deadpool 3” rating during an interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub. “It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now,” he said.
Revealing that sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are currently writing the script, he went on sharing, “It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”
Disney’s Bob Iger previously committed to keep the adult humor nature of “Deadpool” while talking with investors. “[‘Deadpool’] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like ‘Deadpool’. As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine,” he promised.

  • Ryan Reynolds Uses His Own Money to Pay Trainees From Minority Groups to Work on Movie Set

    WENN

The ‘Deadpool’ actor is using his own money to pay up to 20 trainees from marginalized backgrounds to work on movie set in an effort to push diversity in the film industry.
    Aug 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ryan Reynolds has launched The Group Effort Initiative in a bid to diversify the film industry.
The “Deadpool” star will pay 10 to 20 trainees who are black, indigenous, other persons of colour or from different marginalised backgrounds to work on set, using his own earnings from every movie he makes moving forward as part of the work experience programme.
“I’ve had a front row seat to the immense talent of so many artisans, storytellers and experts,” Ryan told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Friday (31Jul20). “Being a member of a film crew is a special experience – but that privilege hasn’t been extended to everyone. There’s a ton of untapped talent out there. This action is the right thing to do, but it’s worth noting that inclusivity will also make our industry stronger and more dynamic. We will tell better stories.”
Ryan worked with Dr. Stacy Smith of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative to help design The Group Effort Initiative, which he will employ for movies made under his Maximum Effort Productions company.
The first group of trainees will work on his upcoming untitled time travel film to be directed by Shawn Levy for Netflix. The sci-fi project is expected to begin filming soon in Vancouver, Canada if coronavirus restrictions do not derail the original schedule.
