The music mogul and TV producer is ready to return to work as he’s booked as a judge on the Israeli version of ‘The X Factor’, four months after his serious injuries.

    Dec 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Simon Cowell is back in action after spending months recovering from back surgery – he has signed on to judge the Israeli version of “The X Factor”.
The music mogul, who pulled out of his TV talent shows in the U.K. and U.S. earlier this year after suffering severe injuries in an electric bike accident, will be one of the judges on the fourth season of “The X Factor” in Israel, which has just begun production.
It will mark the first time Simon will judge a show he created outside the U.K. and U.S.
“Over the years, The X Factor format discovered amazing talents from all over the world, I can’t wait to see what Israel have to offer (sic),” he says in a statement.

The previous judges on The X Factor Israel, which is hosted by supermodel Bar Refaeli, have included rapper Subliminal and singers Ivri Lider and Shiri Maimon.
The TV star was injured in the life-threatening accident in August this year. He broke his back in three places – and came within about an inch of severing his spinal cord and facing possible paralysis – while test-riding his new high-powered e-bike with his young son.
He rested at his Malibu, California home alongside girlfriend Lauren Silverman and the little boy during his recovery. He reportedly underwent daily physiotherapy sessions.
He was forced to pull out of the most recent seasons of “America’s Got Talent” and “Britain’s Got Talent”. Kelly Clarkson later took over his “AGT” seat alongside Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.

  • Little Mix Takes a Dig at Simon Cowell on New Album

Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall appear to diss their former manager in a new song called ‘Not a Pop Song’ from their upcoming studio album.
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Little Mix appear to namecheck their ex-manager Simon Cowell on a track from their new album “Confetti”.
The girl group started out on Cowell’s “The X Factor U.K.” and have gone on to become one of the hottest bands in the world. However, they switched from his Syco record label in 2018 amid rumours of a feud and are now signed to RCA.
According to British newspaper Metro, the new track “Not a Pop Song”, released Friday (09Oct20) ahead of “Confetti” debut next month, suggests the music mogul treated the iconic girl group like “puppets on a string.”
The lyrics read, “I don’t do what Simon says / Get the message cuz it’s read / That’s just life it never plays fair / Said to follow any dream, be a puppet on a string / Works for you but that isn’t me / This ain’t another pop song.”

However, a source close to the group told the publication, “It’s not b**chy – and isn’t meant in a b**chy way at all. They think Simon will see the funny side of it – as they know he loves attention and will think it’s all playful. It’s about them growing up and becoming women in a way.”
“Confetti” is the band’s sixth studio album, following 2018’s “LM5”. It is their first release with RCA.
This year, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall launched their own talent show on BBC. The winning act from the series is expected to join the all-girl group on their upcoming “Confetti” tour.

  • Simon Cowell Plans to Film 'Britain's Got Talent' Special After Breaking Back in Bike Accident

    WENN

Despite reports indicating he faced gruelling weeks of recovery until he can walk again, the ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge is said to have been already up and about by fellow judge Heidi Klum.
    Aug 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to return to TV after breaking his back with a “Britain’s Got Talent” special this autumn.
The entertainment mogul injured himself by falling off an electric bike at his home in Malibu, California – with initial reports indicating he faced gruelling weeks of recovery until he can walk again, meaning he is missing his U.S. show, “America’s Got Talent”.
However, fellow “AGT” judge Heidi Klum has said he is already up and about, and the star is already apparently plotting his TV return by filming a 60-minute “BGT” special being filmed in London.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, “Simon is a total workaholic and even an accident as nasty as his won’t keep him off for long. He’s been working from his home in Los Angeles since the accident happened and is in contact with his team.”
“The plans for this one-off special of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ have been in the pipeline for months and he is convinced he will be well enough to take his place on the panel.”
“The show will feature some of the best talent from the start of the series in 2007. Simon has been told to take it easy but he much prefers to be busy. Plus he loves working on ‘BGT’, so for him it’s something to look forward to.”
The new special will reportedly be filmed in October, and will air as part of U.K. network ITV’s festive schedule.

  • Simon Cowell to Miss 'Britain's Got Talent' Semi-Finals After COVID-19 Led to Change of Dates

    WENN

It is still unclear if the music mogul will enlist one of his famous friends to stand in for him in person on the day, but his new filming schedules clash with those of ‘America’s Got Talent’.
    Aug 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Simon Cowell will reportedly miss the semi-finals of “Britain’s Got Talent” after the coronavirus pandemic led to the filming schedules being changed, causing a clash with “America’s Got Talent”.
The music mogul acts as a judge on both programmes’ panels, and usually manages to plan filming days to allow him to shoot both. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic led to filming being shut down on the talent shows, dates for the BGT semis were changed, while the AGT dates stayed the same – and now both shows need Simon at the same time.
Instead, he will have his say on the acts competing for the BGT grand prize virtually. It’s unknown at this stage whether or not he will enlist one of his famous friends to stand in for him in person on the day.
“Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi-finals, but he’ll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show,” a source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “Normally, schedules mean Simon can do both but AGT’s dates haven’t moved while BGT’s have due to coronavirus.”
The pandemic hit just before auditions were due to start for “Britain’s Got Talent”. While the series usually airs auditions over the space of several weeks, they will now be packed into a one-off catch-up show, before the semi-finals of the programme take place on Saturday nights later this year.
