  • Snoop Dogg Invites Chika to Do A Collaboration With Him: 'I Love Your S**t'

    WENN/Instagram

The ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ hitmaker expresses his eagerness to do a ‘black country song’ collaboration with the fast-rising rapper when he surprised her during an Instagram Live event.
    Aug 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Snoop Dogg is keen to collaborate with rapper CHIKA on a new country song after expressing his admiration for her work.
The star surprised CHIKA during an Instagram Live event on Saturday (August 08) and began praising her work.
“I’m here to tell you I f**k with your music. I love your s**t,” Snoop said. “I play it, I enjoy it. I wanted to tell you that. I didn’t want to, like, let you hear about it. I want you (to) hear it from me, from the Dogg’s mouth.”
Snoop then asked the 23-year-old if she’d like to team up with him for a song, to which she replied: “About what? It depends. I mean, the answer’s yes, duh. But also, about what?”
“As a writer, me myself, when I’m given a task of writing for someone, I like to study what they’ve written and what they’ve done and what they haven’t done,” Snoop added. “I try to give them a piece of themselves that they’ve never tapped into ’cause they can’t really see themselves as good as I can see them.”

She then offered to pen a country song for the mogul, which Snoop insisted he’d be down for.
“I’m writing you a country song. It’s gonna be a black country song,” the Alabama native added. “Southern music, Southern rap especially… It’s a different vibe. It’s a completely different vibe. I’m down for the challenge… This is gonna be some hip-hop country s**t.”
He added: “We gonna mesh. We gonna make this s**t work.”

  • Jay-Z Goes Beyond Snoop Dogg's Expectation With 'Flawless' 'Still D.R.E.' Collaboration

    https://www.beyonce.com/Instagram

During an interview with New York radio show ‘The Breakfast Club’, Snoop confirms that the ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker has served as a ghostwriter for former N.W.A. icon Dr. Dre.
    Aug 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jay-Z blew Snoop Dogg away with his artistry after penning all the lyrics for his Dr. Dre collaboration “Still D.R.E.” in just 30 minutes.
The “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker, real name Shawn Carter, is credited as a writer on the 1999 track, and is long known to have served as a ghostwriter for former N.W.A icon Dre.
However, in a recent interview with New York radio show “The Breakfast Club”, Snoop, who features on the hip-hop classic, reveals Jay-Z also came up with his verse, after he and Death Row Records co-founder, The D.O.C., had trouble coming up with anything worthy of the beat, created by Scott Storch, Mel-Man and Dre.
“Me and D.O.C., he’s one of the greatest writers in hip-hop,” Snoop shared. “We’re in here (the studio) writing this song, struggling with this beat. It’s like, the fourth day.”
“Dr. Dre fly a n***a from New York into L.A. We all in the studio; 30 minutes later, that n***a’s s**t is done. He wrote Dre’s s**t and my s**t and it was flawless, and me and D.O.C. was like, ‘Well, looks like this n***a outstruck us on this one… (sic)'”
“It was ‘Still D.R.E.’ and it was Jay-Z and he wrote the whole f**king song,” Snoop revealed.

And he insists the track wouldn’t have worked out so well if Jay-Z hadn’t been such a big fan of Dre, because he was able to write perfectly for his tone and cadence.
“Jay-Z is a great writer to begin with for himself, so imagine him striking it for someone he truly loves and appreciates,” Snoop explained. “He loves Dr. Dre and that’s what his pen showed you, that I can’t write for you if I don’t love you. I love everything about you. I know your get down, your tone, your delivery, the way you ‘sposed to say it…(sic)”
“That is (a) great author… That’s one of Dr. Dre’s best records.”

  • Snoop Dogg Shades 'Lame B***h' Celina Powell as He Apologizes to Wife in 'Don't Be Mad at Me' Remix

    WENN/Instagram

The ‘Still a G Thang’ hitmaker appears to allude to his affair with the Instagram thot in the newly-released remix to Problem’s song, which also features Freddie Gibbs.
    Jul 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Snoop Dogg deeply regrets his episode of infidelity involving Celina Powell and he has let the world know it. Being featured in the newly-released remix to Problem’s song “Don’t Be Mad at Me”, he took the chance to publicly apologize to his wife Shante Taylor while dissing his former side chick as a “lame b***h.”
“I’m tired of sayin’ sorry for the same s**t/ Damn near lost my queen, f**king ’round with that lame b***h,” he spits his verse, before admitting and celebrating his marriage which remains strong despite the affair, “Ashamed of myself ’cause I shamed you/ Good or bad, right or wrong, we always bang through.”
The 48-year-old rhymer continues to sing praise for his lady love, “You’re thicky thick, go and shake it for me baby (Baby)/ Picture perfect, let me take it for you baby (Baby)/ No cap, I ain’t s**t without you/ And I put that on my momma, I’d die for you baby boo.”
    [embedded content]
Snoop doesn’t mention any name in the song, but considering the buzz surrounding the cheating scandal, people could not help but speculate that it’s about his affair with Celina. The Instagram thot exposed their affair in 2018, claiming they had sex while listening to his gospel album “Bible of Love”.
Snoop later flipped the script, saying she’d been nothing more than bait for his new show “Clout Chasers”, which never sees the light of day. In a trailer for the show, Snoop mentions Celina’s infamous plot to fake a paternity test and claims Offset was the father of her child and gives a glimpse at his clout-chasing sting.
Earlier this year, the talk about Snoop and Celina’s affair was reignited by 6ix9ine, after the two rappers got into a back-and-forth on social media. The “GOOBA” hitmaker shared a video of Snoop and Celina together in what looks like a hotel room.
Celina later claimed that Snoop tried to contact her and ask her to team up for revenge against 6ix9ine, but she ignored his calls. “@snoopdogg I’m not interested in teaming up with you against @6ix9ine, stop calling me askin why I’m egging him on,” she wrote in an Instagram post back in May.
As for the song, Problem explained his goal with it in a press release. “I want this song to help couples get through these tough quarantine times together,” he shared. “Don’t sweat the small stuff. Being the bigger person is the key. The song was actually recorded as a real apology. I was wrong about something we had a small argument about and instead of just saying sorry, I went and did the song and sent it to her. It worked lol.”

    WENN

Speaking about his latest collaboration with the ‘Georgia on My Mind’ crooner, the ‘Gin and Juice’ rapper insists it is a rallying call to bring people, regardless of their skin color, together.

The longtime friends and pot pals plan to release the new duet later this summer.
Confirming the news in an interview with Beats 1 host Ebro Darden, rapper Snoop insists the new track is a rallying call to bring people together following the Black Lives Matter protests.
“The reason why we gonna make this record is because black and white matters right now, the love that we have for each other (sic),” Snoop said. “It’s not about colour; it’s about love – it’s about the appreciation of humanity. I love you as a person, Willie, I love your music… When you build that brotherhood, the colour is out the window.”

Snoop Dogg Wants to Battle Jay-Z in Instagram Rap Showdown

    Instagram

Snoop has issued a challenge against Beyonce Knowles’ husband in an Instagram rap battle because he’s the King of the West and the Jiggman is the King of New York.
    May 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Snoop Dogg wants to face off against Jay-Z as part of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s “Verzuz” series of Instagram Live rap battles.
The virtual, livestream contests see each artist play one verse and one chorus from 20 hits they created for fans’ entertainment amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Previous editions have pitted Erykah Badu against Jill Scott, The-Dream up against Sean Garrett, and even Timbaland and Swizzy against one another – and Snoop has big plans for the next instalment.
Speaking to Fat Joe during a recent Instagram Live broadcast about wanting to face off against a rapper at the top of their game, he explained, “Biggie (Smalls, The Notorious B.I.G.) passed away, then Nas had it for a minute and then Jay-Z took it and ran with it for a numerous amount of years.”
“Then 50 Cent came and ran with it for his numerous amount of years. This is me looking at it from the outside, looking at New York rap,” the “Gin & Juice” star continued. “So for me, it would be Snoop vs. Jay-Z because he had been the King of New York around the same time I’ve been the King of the West.”
Jay has yet to publicly accept the challenge.
Swizz previously told Britain’s NME magazine of the series, “It’s not really a battle – it’s a celebration of our heroes in music, the ones who make us feel a certain type of way.”

Snoop Dogg Urges Tidal to Stop Pushing 6ix9ine's 'Gooba'

    WENN/Instagram

After Tekashi’s new single smashed YouTube’s record for the most-watched hip-hop video in a 24-hour span, Snoop rants online, ‘All these media outlets making snitching cool.’
    May 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Snoop Dogg implored bosses at streaming service Tidal to “stop pushing” Tekashi 6ix9ine’s new music, as the rapper embarked on a comeback following his release from prison.
The rapper is currently under house arrest after leaving jail earlier this year to serve the rest of his sentence for gang-related charges of racketeering, firearms offences and drug trafficking in New York at home amid the coronavirus crisis.
The star, real name Daniel Hernandez, notoriously testified against fellow members of the Nine Trey Gang in February 2019 in exchange for a reduced sentence on racketeering charges, and Snoop is among the many who have lashed out at Tekashi’s attempts to revive his career.
After dropping new single “Gooba”, which smashed YouTube’s record for the most-watched hip-hop video in a 24-hour span, Snoop commented on an Instagram post shared by Elliott Wilson, Tidal’s chief content officer, “They gotta stop pushing this (rat).”
“All these media outlets making snitching cool. I’m old school. F**k 69 and everybody pushing his line right now, all New York GZ feel me on this and if you don’f**k u2.”
Addressing Tekashi’s long-standing feud with Meek Mill, the hitmaker added, “@meekmill if you allow sucka s**t you a sucka. Love you cuz stay sucka free.”

Tekashi made his much talked about return to the public eye with an Instagram Live session on Friday (May 08), which broke another record after attracting an audience of two million fans.

Jada Pinkett Smith Dragged Over Snoop Dogg Interview on 'Red Table Talk'

    Facebook Watch

After the new episode of her Facebook Watch talk show aired, it soon made headlines, but instead of compliments, the wife of Will Smith receives harsh criticism over the interview.
    Feb 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jada Pinkett Smith’s talk show “Red Table Talk” has always succeeded in garnering public attention by bringing the right guests amid hot topics. Recently, she invited rapper Snoop Dogg to discuss his controversial comments about Gayle King as he tried to “protect” Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa Bryant.
After the episode aired, it soon made headlines. However, instead of compliments, Jada received harsh criticism over the interview because it seemed like people think that Jada cornered Snoop despite his apology. “jada you’re out of pocket for this bs,” one user wrote in the comment section while someone else added, “Jada this ain’t it and you should do better for you black community.”
One fan was saddened to see Snoop clarifying his comments all over again. “I would like to see [Oprah Winfrey] or Gayle at the table next… Snoop is being attacked!!! And he already apologizedm.” Echoing the sentiment, one other shared, “It hurts me that he has to keep clarifying his hurt. I’ve been thinking for some days now how few safe places exist for men of color to be vulnerabgle and grieve without being judged or persecuted the I way snoop is.”
“HE SAID WHAT HE SAID JADA !!” a supportive fan exclaimed. “It was never about anybody else, it was directed to that woman only,” another explained.
During the interview, the rap veteran revealed that he went hard against Gayle for bringing up the late basketball icon’s rape case during a chat with Kobe’s friend and fellow athlete Lisa Leslie because he wanted to protect Vanessa. “I wanted to make sure what I said was said the right way and I wanted to make sure that the message was across. That we love Kobe and be respectful of Vanessa and those kids,” he shared.
“That’s what the whole intent was, to protect that women and them babies over there, because she’s still grieving. And let’s give them that respect (sic),” he added.

Snoop Dogg Convinces Lil' Kim Lovers & Friends Festival Is Not a Scam

    Instagram

Though she initially distanced herself from the inaugural festival, the ‘Lighters Up’ rapper confirms her participation following a direct intervention by the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ hitmaker.
    Feb 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lil’ Kim has credited hip-hop heavyweight Snoop Dogg for saving the day after initially denying plans to perform at California’s inaugural Lovers & Friends festival.
Fans were left fearing another Fyre Festival disaster this week (begins February 17) after Kim, along with fellow rappers Ma$e and Twista, distanced themselves from the new gig following the release of the star-studded line-up, headlined by Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon and TLC.
According to promoters at events company Goldenvoice – the same firm behind Coachella, Jhene Aiko, Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker, Nelly, T-Pain, Sean Paul, Ja Rule, Brandy, Monica, Eve, Ginuwine, Cam’ron and SWV are also billed to take the stage during the one-day bash in Los Angeles on 9 May.
However, Kim quickly dismissed the claims, sharing the poster on her Instagram Stories timeline and declaring, “This is so fake! I am not a part of this.”

Fellow rapper Ma$e also used social media to request promoters “pls (please) take my name off of this flyer,” while Twista claimed he wasn’t confirmed because he had yet to receive his advance. “Ain’t no deposit hit my account for this show (sic),” he wrote online.
“Slow Jamz” hitmaker Twista soon told fans he would now be playing the gig, updating them by posting, “Locked and loaded playin all the hits ya diggg (sic).”
Now Kim has also cleared up any issues with Goldenvoice officials after an intervention by Snoop, who was revealed to be one of the concert’s promoters and reached out to the “Lighters Up” star himself.
“Lil’ Kim, get at me on the DM (direct message) so we can get at you about this money (sic),” Snoop wrote.

It appears he managed to smooth over relations between Kim and event bosses, as she will be in attendance after all.
“THE CHECK HAS CLEARED,” she declared on Instagram on Thursday (February 20), as she shared the festival poster with followers.
“Thank uncle @snoopdogg guys cause if it wasn’t for him this would not be happening but y’all know how much I love Cali and Uncle Snoop. See ya’ll May 9th, 2020 @loversandfriendsfest (sic).”

It’s not yet clear if Ma$e, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ former protege, will also be among the acts performing at the festival following his initial statement.
