  • Natalia Dyer Feels Her Younger Co-Stars on 'Stranger Things' Are Being Oversexualized

    Instagram

The 25-year-old, who is known for her portrayal of Nancy Wheeler in the hit sci-fi series, explains why she feels protective of her fellow cast members, even though they’re not kids anymore.
    Aug 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Natalia Dyer is calling out members of the media for oversexualising her younger co-stars on “Stranger Things”.
The 25-year-old, who stars as Nancy Wheeler in the hit sci-fi series, reveals she feels protective of her fellow cast members, many of whom were just kids when they started on the show.
“There are so many layers going on here,” she tells The Independent. “I generally feel like, to me, it’s oversexualising them. I feel protective over the younger kids even though they’re not kids anymore, they’re teens.”
She adds, “They’re all great people and all having to grow up in very crazy circumstances. As a private person, I just feel like, leave people alone – unless you’re talking about their work or what they want to talk about.”
Millie Bobby Brown, now 16, has previously shared her feelings about her depiction in the media at such a young age.
“There are moments I get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualisation, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity for me,” she wrote on Instagram in February.

  • 'Stranger Things' Creators Confirms Season 5

    Netflix

The Duffer brothers assure fans that the hit Netflix show will continue beyond season 4 despite the obstacles because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
    Aug 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Stranger Things” fans don’t need to worry just yet – the story is far from over.
Production on the upcoming season four of the hit Netflix show was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning the release date has been pushed back too. But before there’s any sign of the new episodes hitting the streaming service, creators Matt and Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter confirmed they’ve have plans for the show beyond the next series.
“Season 4 won’t be the end,” Ross told the publication. “We know what the end is, and we know when it is. (The coronavirus pandemic) has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”
The siblings didn’t reveal how long they envision the programme will last, and a Netflix spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by the outlet.
The production had been underway for a “couple of weeks” when the global shutdown occurred, according to star David Harbour. And as for when it will restart, Harbour said earlier this year, “We don’t really know what the future holds. I don’t feel like anybody knows. We’re all playing it by ear. We want to get up and running as soon as possible.”

  • Natalia Dyer Calls COVID-19 Blessing in Disguise for 'Stranger Things' Writers

    WENN

The actress, who plays Nancy Wheeler on the hit Netflix series, gushes that she is excited to get back to work since the scripts for season four have been completely written.
    Aug 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Stranger Things” actress Natalia Dyer believes the coronavirus shutdown has been a blessing in disguise for the team behind the hit show.
The 25-year-old spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, and explained the delay in getting back to set is most likely a “blessing for the writers” as they have had more time to “just sit down, think, and create.”
“Normally, we get the first few scripts, and then they have to keep writing due to the schedule of it,” she shared. “It takes a while to craft a script. So, normally, there’s a kind of ‘writing as we’re going’, but it seems they’ve had enough time.”
Natalia, who plays Nancy Wheeler on the show, went on to hint that season four of the science fiction series, also starring Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, is now completely written – and she can’t wait to get back to work.
“I’m excited by the scripts. I’m excited for everything that this season is going to be,” she added.

Finn Wolfhard Considers Quitting Acting Before Landing 'Stranger Things' Role

    Instagram

The actor known for his portrayal of Mike Wheeler on the hit Netflix series admits to coming close to deciding on an alternate career after he lost out on a role in an unnamed film.
    Jul 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Finn Wolfhard was close to giving up acting before landing a role on the smash hit “Stranger Things”.
The 17-year-old almost decided on an alternate career after he lost out on a role in an unnamed film – he figured he’d later step behind the camera as a director instead.
The star, who was then 12, reveals he was “sick in bed and almost considering not even acting (anymore)” at the time he was due to submit his audition tape for the Netflix series.
The low key try out also included a chat with the show’s casting directors but Finn still couldn’t get excited about the possibility of being cast.
“They just kind of pitched me the show – I was, like, 12 – and we talked about all the movies it was based on,” he shares.
He went on to land the role of Mike Wheeler but admits he had limited expectations for the sci-fi project, which was created by Matt and Ross Duffer.
“We just thought we were filming this secret thing that no one knew about,” he shares. “Which we were. No one knew what we were doing. Netflix was kind of hands-off. We thought maybe it would become a cult classic, and we’ll come back to it in 30 years and be really proud of doing it.”
Meanwhile, “Stranger Things”‘ season three audience smashed previous viewership records for the platform, with 40 million households streaming the show. Filming of season four, which was taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

'Stranger Things' Brings Back This Character in First Teaser for Season 4

    Netflix

The beloved character who many assumed dead at the end of the last season surprisingly make an appearance in the first teaser for the upcoming fourth season.
    Feb 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – The brains behind “Stranger Things” have stunned fans of the Netflix show by revealing David Harbour’s character, Hopper, is still alive in the first trailer for season four.
The beloved Indiana police chief was killed off in an explosion at the end of the last season, prompting devotees to slam the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, but they were given a glimmer of hope when Harbour demanded to know what had become of his character.
    [embedded content]
During an appearance on U.S. show “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in October 2019, the actor said, “I always knew that Hopper had to make a sacrifice. He’s a jerk and he needs to pay for that in some way, so I thought he’d make the sacrifice and then the script came out and… at the end, (in) the post-credits scene there’s ‘the American’, and I’m like, ‘Oh, clearly I’m the American…!’ And then, I haven’t gotten many phone calls.”
In a post-credits scene at the end of season three, Russian prison guards referred to one captive as “the American.”
He then agreed to FaceTime the Duffer Brothers and ask them what their plans were.
“I have a question…,” he said. “Am I dead? Is Hopper dead?”
“I mean, we’re still figuring it out, David,” Ross Duffer responded.
Harbour shot back, “You guys are a lot of help, thanks. Really wonderful work. Good luck with season four. Love you guys, love you, bye.”
But now the Duffers have revealed Hopper’s character survived the blast, placing his character in Russia, working as a prison labourer on a railway line.
Netflix dropped the first look at the highly-anticipated fourth season of “Stranger Things” on Friday, February 14, 2020.
“We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway – and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper!” a statement from the Duffer Brothers reads. “Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.”
“Season four is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime – pray for the American… From Russia with love.”
