Swizz previously caught heat after he appeared to dismiss Janet when discussing the idea of having the ‘When I Think of You’ singer going against Missy Elliott in a song battle.
    Sep 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Swizz Beatz has responded to the backlash he receives over his comments on Janet Jackson when discussing the idea of having Janet going against Missy Elliott on “Verzuz”. While Timbaland loved the idea, Swizz didn’t think Janet had the “vault” for it, much to fans’ dismay. Now, he appears to clarify his statements.
Commenting underneath The Shade Room’s post about the matter, the husband of Alicia Keys explained, “LETS BE CLEAR. I don’t think Missy & Janet is a good match up at all! Much love to Janet she’s ICON but I just didn’t feel that was a good match up.” He went on saying, “Janet got hits on hits but she should have a better person to celebrate with that’s all. Blessings….”
Swizz later doubled down on his remarks in an Instagram comment in a separate post. “Better person meaning someone who match the vibe better to all who still don’t understand,” he wrote.

Upon reading Swizz’s explanation, some fan defended him. “I totally got exactly what you meant. That wasn’t gonna be a good match up. Two totally different vibes. Let’s think back to Missy era and who was out at that time that she was competing with. That’s where you’ll find your match up at. I think @janetjackson and @beyonce who be a good match up. Old school hit R&B with semi old school,” one fan reacted.
Someone else suggested that it would be great if Janet and Lil’ Kim have a face-off, writing, “Janet and little Kim would be good they should be on that wap song it would be.” However, a user didn’t change his/her mind and continued to slam Swizz. “You’re always saying and doing stupid s**t just like your marriages,” said the person.
Swizz enraged Janet’s fans after he said, “Because Missy can be multiple people. Janet gonna just be Janet,” during an Instagram Live session with Timbaland. After his name was trending on Twitter, Missy herself weighed in on the matter. She wrote on the blue bird app on Monday, September 14, “Lol I was home watching Janet when she was already a SUPA Star so that tells you how BIG her vault of hits is.”

  • Swizz Beatz Dragged for Alluding Janet Jackson Isn't On Par With Missy Elliott for 'Verzuz'

Meanwhile, the ‘Work It’ rapper takes to Twitter to defend the ‘When I Think of You’ hitmaker, saying that she was at ‘home watching Janet when she was already a SUPA Star.’
    Sep 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Swizz Beatz has landed in hot water over his comments on Janet Jackson as he talks about the idea of having Janet facing Missy Elliott in an episode of his and Timbaland’s show “Verzuz”. While discussing the matter with Timbaland in a video, which has circulated online, Swizz appeared to be rejecting the idea, alluding that Janet wasn’t on a par with Missy.
It’s unclear when the video was taken, but it showed Timbaland suggesting a Verzuz episode featuring his longtime collaborator and good friend Missy and the sister of Michael Jackson. Swizz, however, didn’t think it was a good idea as he shook his head and said, “Because Missy can be multiple people. Janet gonna just be Janet.”
Timbaland disagreed, saying that the two women are “great friends” and amazing artists. “The celebration is gon’ be great,” Tim went on saying. “Missy gon’ wanna celebrate with somebody of her caliber that she knows that it’s gon’ be a great celebration. I know my sister. I know her.”
Later they talked about when Missy was commenting on their Live and Swizz told her, “Sis, we need you.” They asked Missy to name who she wanted to face in a song battle because they would try to work it out. Missy allegedly wrote that Janet’s “vault was too big.”
Unsurprisingly, Swizz’s remarks about Janet enraged her fans. One of them tweeted, “Swizz Beatz saying that Janet Jackson doesn’t have the vault to do a #verzuz against Missy. Why say this shit on live? Janet has #1 hits across THREE different decades. 27 top 10 hits on the BB Hot 100: 10 #1s and 16 #1s on the R&B Charts. 7 #1 albums across FOUR DECADES.” Another fan chimed in, “Swizz Beatz sounded foolish saying that. If he thinks Janet doesn’t have 20 joints for a Verzuz he just doesn’t know music.”

Even Missy defended Janet as she wrote on Twitter on Monday, September 14, “Lol I was home watching Janet when she was already a SUPA Star so that tells you how BIG her vault of hits is.” In response to her tweet, someone wrote to the “Get Ur Freak On’ rapper, “ThankU Missy. Swizz Beat’s U owe Janet Jackson an apology.”

    Aug 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Producer Swizz Beatz raised a toast to his superstar wife Alicia Keys on Thursday, August 27 after becoming “the most certified female R&B artist of the millennium.”
Keys has overtaken Beyonce Knowles to snag the impressive title after racking up U.S. sales of 27.5 million certified digital singles in her career to date, according to officials at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
That figure puts the “Girl on Fire” hitmaker ahead of her close friend by 1.5 million units, and Beatz couldn’t contain his pride after discovering the big news, which Keys had kept to herself.
The hip-hop star congratulated the singer on the achievement in a sweet video message filmed at the couple’s home, where Keys had been washing dishes in the kitchen.
As she notices Beatz filming, the camera-shy musician runs away laughing, before accepting a glass of wine from her man to acknowledge her career milestone.
“This is serious! The highest selling R&B female artist of the decade…, beating everybody – everybody, and you’re just going to walk around the house, wash dishes, don’t say nothing about that (sic)?” Beatz lovingly questions her.
“That’s big,” he adds. “Congrats baby.”

In the accompanying caption, the multi-Grammy-winning star attributed the massive feat to the support of her loyal fans.
“He’s always creepin’ up on me!!” Keys quipped of her man. “He thinks I’m too humble but that’s just me.”
“I’m grateful. I’m honored that you chose to connect with me and show me so much love!! Wow!! The most certified female R&B artist of the millennium????? I had to re-look up the word millennium!!! deaammmmnnnn and just putting my humility to the side for a sec…20 million albums sales and 27.5 million certified digital sales (US) just sayin’ (sic).”
She continued, “But listen for real y’all, you are my heart! You are so important to me! So let’s keep dreaming big, and choosing love and being about each other cuz the world needs us BAD right now (sic)!!! And HATE can never win! We won’t let it!”
Keys wrapped up her post by sharing her gratitude to her husband of 10 years, “I love you all and I love my hubby for always helping me celebrate even when I’m just washing dishes around the house.”
Referencing her next, self-titled release, she concluded, “ALICIA album…. I’ll tell you when I’m ready… cheers fam (sic)!!”

Swizz Beatz Says Rappers Should Pay 'Taxes' to Hip-Hop Founders

    WENN

The producer husband of Alicia Keys wants rappers to pay a million dollars each to the hip-hop pioneers like Melle Mel, Grandmaster Flash, and Sugarhill Gang.
    May 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Swizz Beatz has called on the rap stars of today to pay “taxes” to hip-hop’s founders.
The star spoke out on the issue during a chat with Joe Budden on his Beatz’s Zone Radio on Instagram Live, where he suggested he wants to “raise a million dollars for each icon that started hip-hop.”
“The fact we’re not paying taxes on who started hip-hop shows we don’t f**king really love hip-hop,” he explained, reported the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six. “The fact we don’t pay taxes as artists to those icons that paved the way took the lower cut for the music that allowed us to feed our families.”
The star, real name Kasseem Dean, added, “We need to be paying taxes to the creatives of hip-hop that gave us freedom of speech to go forward.”
“Melle Mel, Grandmaster Flash, and Sugarhill Gang, minimum a million a piece.”
The “Echo” hitmaker made the comments after saying he wanted to stage a rap battle between Rakim and Big Daddy Kane. He also claimed that a similar face-off between his wife Alicia Keys and singer John Legend, in which they will both play the piano, is also in the works.
