Take That Delivers Classic Hits During Reunion With Robbie Williams

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald have reunited with their former bandmate and performed their classic songs for an online fund-raising gig on Youtube.

AceShowbiz – Robbie Williams thrilled Take That fans by joining his old bandmates for a virtual charity gig on Friday night, May 29, 2020.
The “Angels” star teamed up with Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald, for the Compare The Meerkat concert on YouTube, and joked about his late arrival as he tried to beam in from Los Angeles, where he is self-isolating with his wife, Ayda Field, and their kids.
“I’m here now,” he joked as he appeared onscreen. “Last time, I was 15 years late.”
Robbie left the band in 1995 but he has rejoined for occasional performances – the last one in 2018.
He joined the trio for a performance of band classics like “Back for Good”, “Shame,” and “Never Forget”, while wearing an eye-catching pink leopard print blazer.
The bandmates also chatted about their lockdown experiences, with Donald revealing he’s tired of reading children’s stories to his kids.
“I’ve read more books than in my life,” he grumbled.

Fans were clearly stoked to see the quartet back together even though another former bandmate, Jason Orange, was a no-show, with many taking to social media to rave about the virtual reunion.
One fan tweeted, “Free Take That concert, this is the best evening ever,” while another user added, “Loved watching you all together again, was a real tonic I needed. Thanks guys.”
Robbie previously joked about hiring a private detective to track down Orange.
Speaking on his “At Home with The Williamses” podcast earlier this week, he said, “None of us know where he’s gone. I should hire a private detective. He finds out where Jason Orange is, we inject him with a beeping thing, a chip, then we know where Jason is at all times.”

Take That Musical 'The Band' Is in the Works

A big-screen adaptation of the 1990s British popular boyband is in development and the producers are reportedly eyeing ‘high calibre names’ to play the lead roles.
    Apr 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – A big screen adaptation of hit Take That musical “The Band” is in development.
Danny Perkins, chief executive of the Elysian Film Group in London, told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper producers are working on the project during lockdown, with shooting scheduled to begin later this year 2020.
“We’re putting it together, and once all the serious things settle down, we can get on with making it,” he said.
The group is firmly behind the project, after stage show “The Band”, which was written by Tim Firth and produced by David Pugh, toured widely for two years from 2017.
The plot centres on five 16-year-old schoolgirls from the north-west of England in 1992, obsessed with a fictional boy band, based on the “Relight My Fire” hitmakers.
“A tragedy happens, then we jump forward 25 years to see the women those girls became and they realise they were fools to have been apart for so long,” Firth explained. “It’s about friendship and the power of the songs they loved. The band and the bits are secondary; it’s about the fans who loved them.”
A number of “high calibre names” have been approached to play the women, although no signings have been made as yet.
Take That, starring Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, and Mark Owen, formed in 1990 and enjoyed success until they disbanded in 1996. They later reunited in 2005 as a four-piece, without Robbie, and now perform with Gary, Mark, and Howard, following Jason’s departure in 2014.
