AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift once again shows that she’s a supportive friend for Selena Gomez. The “Cardigan” singer made a cameo in a new episode of Selena’s HBO Max at-home cooking show “Selena + Chef” which aired on Thursday, August 20.
In the said episode, Selena invited master chef Roy Choi to help her make a delicious-looking Korean BBQ Texas breakfast taco. The “Lose You to Love Me” hitmaker was pretty satisfied with her work, enough to make her want show off her new dish to her “friend.”
That was when she FaceTimed Taylor, who was impressed by the dish. “If you don’t send me the recipe, we’re going to have words,” Taylor joked after Selena showed her the dish. “I want to be served that.”
“I’m very jealous of your whole setup and the fact that you guys are cooking together. It’s pretty great. I’m really envious,” the “Blank Space” singer went on saying. Before signing off, Taylor made sure she gave her best friend a compliment.
She told Selena, “I just wanted to show you. I’m so proud,” before joking that she’s been waiting for her to get into the culinary arts. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you to become obsessed with cooking?” she quipped, making everyone including Selena’s grandparents laugh.
Later in the episode, Selena learned how to make doughnuts. It’s among the many recipes the singer has mastered on the series so far.
Prior to this, Selena gushed over her longtime friendship with Taylor. “It just feels like we’re family, I’ve known her for 13 or 14 years now,” the “Wolves” artist said of the “Folklore” musician, adding that she’s always wanted to have a duet with her. “I’ve always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor. We both wanted to do that. She’s been my best friend, [and] we’ve talked about it, for sure,” she shared.

  • Taylor Swift Scores Longest No. 1 Album in U.K. as 'Folklore' Stays Atop Chart

The ‘Cardigan’ singer stays at the pinnacle of the U.K. albums chart, blocking Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. who have to settle at the second spot with ‘A Hero’s Death’.
    Aug 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has held on to the top spot in the U.K. albums chart, seeing off a spirited challenge from Irish rockers Fontaines D.C.
Taylor’s surprise new indie-inspired collection, “Folklore”, shot straight to number one last Friday (31Jul20), but for most of this week the band’s sophomore record, “A Hero’s Death”, was ahead in chart sales.
However, by Friday, the “Bad Blood” hitmaker had overhauled her deficit to top the Official Charts Company rundown, with a lead of just 3,500 chart sales.
“Folklore” is now Taylor’s longest-reigning number one album in the U.K. as her previous chart-topping efforts, “Red”, “1989”, “Reputation”, and “Lover”, all stayed at the summit for just one week.
At three is Pop Smoke with his posthumous debut, “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”, while another deceased rapper, Juice WRLD, is at four with “Legends Never Die”. British horror punks Creeper complete the top five with “Sex, Death & The Infinite Void”.
Joel Corry’s “Head & Heart” featuring MNEK is at number one in the singles chart for a third week, with “Savage Love” by TikTok star Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo at two.
British producer Nathan Dawe edges closer to the summit as “Lighter”, his collaboration with YouTuber-turned-rapper KSI, climbs to three.
Harry Styles’ sleeper summer smash “Watermelon Sugar” is up to four, and AJ Tracey and Mabel’s “West Ten” completes the top five.

Months before the revelation, the ‘Lose You to Love Me’ hitmaker revealed that the ‘Cardigan’ singer has ‘proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends.’
    Aug 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Selena Gomez has “always dreamed” of teaming up with her pal Taylor Swift on a collaboration.
The 28-year-old singer has been friends with “Cardigan” hitmaker Taylor for many years, and as she made a surprise appearance on Twitch’s Animal Talking stream on Wednesday night (August 05), she admitted she wants to partner with the singer on a new track.
“I’ve always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor,” she said. “We both wanted to do that. It just feels like we’re family…she’s been my best friend. But we’ve talked about it for sure.”

Selena’s comments come after she previously opened up to WSJ magazine earlier this year about the strength of her bond with 30-year-old Taylor.
“There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do,” she said. “She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected. Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something. Stuff that was going on with my family. It’s been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world. We don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.”

AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift is celebrating after becoming the first artist in Billboard chart history to land debuts at the top of the singles and albums countdown in the same week.
The singer’s surprise release “Folklore” hit the top of the Billboard 200 on Sunday (August 02) and now the first single from the album, “Cardigan”, has rocketed to number one on the Hot 100.
Taylor marked the double milestone by replying to fans’ congratulatory tweets with a GIF of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the “San Andreas” film saying, “Oh My God.”

Taylor Swift reacted to news of her double milestone on the Billboard charts.
