Taylor Swift Releasing 'Folklore' Sister Album Called 'Evermore'

The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker marks the end of 2020 with another new album called ‘Evermore’ which she describes as a sister album to her set released during lockdown.

    Dec 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has delighted fans with the news she is dropping a surprise new album, titled “Evermore”.
The singer announced she will be releasing her second album of 2020, a companion piece to her hit album”Folklore”, which debuted in July, on Thursday (10Dec20) on Twitter, accompanied by a photo of her, standing in a wood with her back turned to the camera.
The “Shake It Off” hitmaker worked with the same team she created “Folklore” with, Aaron Dessner of The National, Jack Antonoff, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, and boyfriend Joe Alwyn – who is credited as a co-writer under the name William Bowery.
Taylor tweeted, “I’m elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore’s sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. It’s called evermore.”
“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.”

She continued, “I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning.”
“I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them,” she added.
The album contains 15 tracks, including “No Body”, “No Crime” featuring Haim, “Coney Island” featuring The National, and the closing track, “Evermore”, featuring Bon Iver. The deluxe physical edition includes two bonus tracks “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go”.
All digital downloads of the album include an exclusive digital booklet with 16 new photos of Swift frequenting a forest.
“Evermore” and its first music video for opening track, “Willow”, will be out at midnight ET on Friday, 11 December.

Taylor Swift's Fans Think She Shades Scooter Braun in Teaser of 'Love Story' New Version

    WENN/Instar/Adriana M. Barraza

The ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ songstress teams up with Ryan Reynolds to debut a snippet of the re-recorded version of her 2008 ‘Fearless’ track in a new Match ad.

    Dec 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift is working hard to re-record all of her first six albums and she isn’t wasting any time to share the preview. Teaming up with Ryan Reynolds, she has debuted the snippet to the new version of her 2008 hit “Love Story” in a new Match ad. And in her true fashion, she likely has thrown a subtle jab at Scooter Braun in the ad.
The ad, which was released on Wednesday, December 2, features the “Deadpool” star completely unrecognizable as a devilish Satan. Bored as hell, his life is turned upside down after the dating application helps him find his match in a woman named 2020.
As Satan and 2020, whom Reynolds calls a “match made in hell,” go on dates, they fall completely in love with each other. In one scene that comes about a minute into the funny clip, Satan and 2020 take a selfie in front of a dumpster fire.

Near another dumpster fire, lies a fallen scooter with graffiti of the number six on the wall next to it. Swifties then began speculating that the scooter is a reference to Braun, while the number six represents the number of album Swift is now re-recording, including “Taylor Swift”, “Fearless”, “Speak Now”, “Red”, “1989” and “Reputation”.

“[scooter] is right where he belongs,” one person tweeted along with a meme. Another weighed in, “She really did THAT… fallen [scooter] next to a graffitied number 6 representing her first six albums she is currently re-recording.”
Swift herself took to Twitter to address how her new version of “Love Story” ended up as the background song in Reynolds’ ad. “Okay so while my new re-records are NOT done, my friend @VancityReynolds asked me if he could use a snippet of one for a LOLsome commercial he wrote so…here’s a sneak peak [sic] of Love Story!” she wrote on Wednesday. She went on assuring her fans, “Working hard to get the music to you soon!!”

Tim McGraw Admits Taylor Swift's Tribute Song Made Him Worry About Career Ending

    WENN/Judy Eddy

During a recent radio interview, the ‘Humble and Kind’ hitmaker opens up about his initial reaction upon hearing ‘Tim McGraw’ that the ‘Cardigan’ singer released back in 2006.

    Nov 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tim McGraw feared Taylor Swift’s teenage tribute was his hint to walk away from fame.
The “Humble & Kind” singer heard “Tim McGraw” before Swift released it in 2006, and admits that although he was flattered a teenager was name-checking him, he thought it might be a tune signaling the end of his run as a star.
“It came out and it blew up and she blew up,” the country crooner husband of Faith Hill told radio host Bobby Bones. “My first thought was, ‘OK, let me re-evaluate here. What does this mean? All right, if there’s a song that she’s singing about me… does this mean I’m done? Out the door!’ ”

Then the father of three daughters learned how young Taylor was. “Somebody told me she was, like, 13 and wrote it in math class and I thought, ‘Well that’s all right. I can live with that.’ ” he recalled. “It’s not like a 35-year-old artist saying, ‘You know, hey, I used to listen to Tim McGraw, and I’m done.’ ”
Back in 2006, Taylor explained to CMT how she came up with the song off her self-titled debut album. “I wrote [the song] in my freshman year of high school,” she recounted. “I got the idea in math class. I was just sitting there, and I started humming this melody. I kind of related it to this situation I was in.”
“I was dating a guy who was about to go off to college. I knew we were going to break up. So I started thinking about all the things that I knew would remind him of me,” the multiple Grammy winner continued offering more details. “Surprisingly, the first thing that came to mind was that my favorite country artist is Tim McGraw.”

Taylor Swift Reveals Mysterious 'William Bowery' in 'Folklore' Is Boyfriend Joe Alwyn

    WENN

The ‘Cardigan’ singer confirms her British boyfriend Joe Alwyn is indeed the mystery collaborator who helped her co-wrote songs for her lockdown studio album.

    Nov 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has confirmed her boyfriend Joe Alwyn co-wrote two tracks on her surprise album “Folklore”.
Swift, 30, stunned fans in July (20) by dropping a new album recorded during the Covid-19 pandemic and, in an Instagram post, credited the mysterious “William Bowery” with helping her pen the songs.
The fact Bowery did not appear to be a registered songwriter or producer sparked speculation “The Favourite” star had turned his hand to music – a rumour she has now confirmed on her Disney+ concert film, “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions”.

      See also…

“There’s been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity because it’s not a real person… That would have gone on forever,” she says, according to the Press Association, before going on to explain how he had helped with her duet with Bon Iver – “Exile”.
“William Bowery is Joe as we know and Joe plays piano beautifully and he’s always just playing and making things up and kind of creating things and (her song) Exile was crazy because Joe had written that entire piano part and it was, singing the Bon Iver part, ‘I can see you standing honey…’ ”
“He was just singing it the way that the whole first verse is and so I was entranced and asked if we could keep writing that one. It was pretty obvious that it should be a duet because he’s got such a low voice and it sounded really good sung down there.”
“Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” was filmed in New York in September and premiered on Disney’s streaming service on Wednesday (25Nov20).

Taylor Swift Takes Her 'Folklore' Documentary to Disney Streaming Site

    Disney Plus

The ‘Cardigan’ singer is gearing up for the release of her new documentary that will give insights into the creative process of her quarantine studio album.

    Nov 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift’s new concert documentary, “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions”, is headed to Disney+.
The film – which was directed by Swift and filmed at Long Pond Studio, New York – was announced on Tuesday (24Nov20) and will debut on the streamer just one day later, a short trailer for the project reveals
It sees Swift reunite with The National’s Aaron Dessner – who owns the studio – and her other co-producer, Jack Antonoff, to perform each song off “Folklore” and share the stories behind the tracks on the album.
Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, who appears on the track “Exile”, will also make a special guest appearance.
“It’s an album that allows you to feel your feelings, and it’s a product of isolation,” Swift tells Dessner of “Folklore” in the trailer. “This could’ve been a time where I absolutely lost my mind, and instead, I think this album was a real flotation device for both of us.”

The film marks the first time that Swift, Dessner, and Antonoff have performed “Folklore”, which she surprise-released amid the pandemic, together.
Recently when she received a Songwriter of the Year award from Apple Music, Taylor Swift explained how writing music helped keep her in touch with fans during an awful 2020.
“This particular year was a year where I really feel like songwriting was the one thing that was able to keep me connected to fans that I wasn’t able to see in concert,” she said.
“I wasn’t able to reach out my hand and touch somebody’s hand in the front row, I wasn’t able to take pictures with fans, so this, it means a lot to me,” she continued. “My songwriting, and the way that fans respond to the songs I write, and the kinda dialogue back and forth, and that kind of emotional exchange, is what I feel like has really kept me going this year (sic). And I really want to say thank you to the fans for that.”
