The ‘Glee’ actress confirms her impending exit from the Bravo reality TV series, announcing that she won’t be returning to the show for the upcoming 13th season.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Glee” star Nene Leakes is handing in her “Real Housewives” key after 10 seasons on the franchise’s hit Atlanta, Georgia show.
The series favourite has announced she will not be returning to the show for its upcoming 13th season.
“I have been on an extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation,” she told fans via her YouTube channel on Thursday (17Sep20). “There’s been a lot of emotion flying from both sides. It has been hard, and I have made the very hard and very difficult decision to not be a part of Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13. It wasn’t an easy decision for me. It was hard.”
It’s not the first time Nene has stepped away from the show – she wasn’t part of the eighth and ninth seasons, but returned for season 10.
Leakes helped launch the show in 2008.
“I’m just so happy that I can say that I was a part of a genre that opened up doors for black ensemble reality shows,” she said.
A spokesperson for Bravo, the network behind all the Real Housewives shows, says, “We wish NeNe all the best in her future endeavours and thank her for sharing her journey for over a decade with the fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She’s been instrumental since the start and will truly be missed.”
She’s not the only big name to depart the franchise – earlier this month, Denise Richards announced she would be leaving “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after two seasons.

AceShowbiz – The ladies of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” are currently filming for upcoming season 13. Star Cynthia Bailey reveals in a new interview that things are going to be different in the new season as they are filming amid COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s been very different, you know, filming during COVID-19,” the Bravo personality shared in the Wednesday, September 2 episode of E! News’ “Just the Tip”. “We have to get tested every week.”
“Excited to be back at work! We’re trying to make this show happen, you know, kudos to Bravo for that,” she went on saying. “It’s been very challenging, you know, respecting the COVID rules and regular testing’s a huge part of it.”
“And we’re filming more from home because we can’t go into certain places and be in big crowds,” Cynthia shared, adding that they’re “being extra careful.” She continued, “You guys are going to get a very entertaining season 13, but it’s going to be a little different.”
In the interview, Cynthia also talked about NeNe Leakes’ status in the forthcoming season of “RHOA”. “I don’t really have any real answers for you, to be honest,” she admitted. “So, I can just tell you, I haven’t filmed anything with her yet. So, that’s that.”
“NeNe and I are where we are now, but for a long time she was a very, very good friend of mine, who I loved very much, who I still have love for,” Cynthia shared. “I want her to do what is best for her…She was one of the O.G.s on the show. You know, when you think of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’, you do think of NeNe.”
She also praised NeNe, saying that she is “great for the show.” Hinting that she has nothing but love for her co-star, Cynthia said, “I hope they work it out.”
Prior to this, NeNe further fueled speculations that she wouldn’t return for a new season of “RHOA” after she deleted her Instagram account. She previously opened up about the state of the negotiations regarding her return to the upcoming season. “So, I’m still on holding pattern, let me start there,” she explained in an Instagram Live session.
“And also I’d be able to say that it’s not me, it’s them,” NeNe continued. “Every single season when it ends, or at least the last 3 or 4 seasons, I have been dealing with this-going back and forth.”

  • NeNe Leakes Further Fuels Rumors She Won't Return for 'RHOA' Season 13 by Removing Instagram

    WENN

In a new interview, NeNe’s ‘RHOA’ co-star and friend Cynthia Bailey admits that she has not ‘seen her’ and has no idea about her contract status for the upcoming season.
    Aug 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – NeNe Leakes has shocked fans after it’s revealed that she has deleted her Instagram account. The move appears to further fuel speculations that she will not be returning for season 13 of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”.
Fans noticed that the reality TV star’s account on the photo-sharing platform was disappeared as of Tuesday, August 25 without warning or explanation. However, her Twitter account was still up.
Prior to deleting her Instagram account, NeNe wrote on the blue bird app, “Support Black Women, Protect Black Women! You have no idea what they’ve been thru or the WEIGHT they have carried on their backs silently for yearsssssssssss. Thank you! Bye.”
In an interview with Us Weekly, her co-star and friend Cynthia Bailey admits that NeNe has been MIA. “I haven’t seen her,” the Bailey Wine Cellar owner said on Monday. “I know she’s dealing with some contract stuff. That’s not my business. I hope they work all that out.”
“I always will say, whether we’re besties or not, she’s great for the show,” she went on to say while promoting the Seagram’s Escapes Peach Bellini flavor she created. “She’s been around … since the beginning of the show, and she’s good TV, and I hope they work through it. And, you know, Bravo’s always publicly said, ‘She always has a home here.’ They’ve always been supportive of whatever she wanted.”
Prior to this, it was reported that “the ladies are a little annoyed that NeNe hasn’t signed her contract yet. They feel she does this every year and puts herself on this pedestal and they just roll their eyes a bit over it.” Despite that, it was said that the cast, who has started filming, was “not surprised.”
NeNe herself previously opened up about the state of the negotiations regarding her return to the upcoming season. “So, I’m still on holding pattern, let me start there. And also I’d be able to say that it’s not me, it’s them,” NeNe explained. “Every single season when it ends, or at least the last 3 or 4 seasons, I have been dealing with this-going back and forth.”

  • 'RHOA' Cast Members 'Roll Their Eyes' as NeNe Leakes Has Yet to Sign Season 13 Contract

    Bravo

Even though the ladies on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ are allegedly annoyed because of the matter, it is said that the cast, who has started filming, is ‘not surprised.’
    Aug 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Things have yet to be settled between Bravo and NeNe Leakes ahead of season 13 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. The fact that NeNe is still in negotiations regarding the new season reportedly doesn’t sit well with other cast members.
“The ladies are a little annoyed that NeNe hasn’t signed her contract yet. They feel she does this every year and puts herself on this pedestal and they just roll their eyes a bit over it,” a source close to production claims to HollywoodLife.com. Despite that, it is said that the cast, who has started filming, is “not surprised.”
Once again, the 52-year-old insisted that the whole process took so long because of the show’s production team. “I know a lot of people think it’s me. ‘NeNe holds out to the last minute,’ ‘NeNe holding out,’ that’s not NeNe. NeNe is not doing that,” she said, adding that “negotiation takes time.”
The uncertainty surrounding NeNe’s return to the new season also sparked rumors that she’s been fired by the network. Her rep Steven Grossman denied them, saying that it was “absolutely not true that Nene has been fired from ‘RHOA’. Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be. … Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate. Bloop.”
While NeNe’s status in season 13 remains uncertain, the new season will reportedly welcome two new faces, actress Drew Sidora and Canadian YouTube star LaToya Ali a.k.a. LaToya Forever. Drew will be the second actress to appear on the show after Kim Fields, who left the series after season 7 to prioritize her acting and directing career. Meanwhile, LaToya was first reported to join “RHOA” back in 2019.

Multiple reports claim that before officially coming on board for the new season, the “That’s So Raven” star has been talked about as a possible Housewife in the past. Her credits include “Step Up” and 2013 biopic “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story”.
Drew will be the second actress to appear on the show after Kim Fields. Kim, who starred in season 7 of “RHOA”, left the series one season to prioritize her acting and directing career. “It was for the experience, it was to be able to do a genre that I’d been asked to do before and finding a way to do it that makes sense for my team and my family,” Fields said in 2016, adding that it “was a really great experience.”

    Instagram

The measure is needed after the Bravo personality and more than 100 others were arrested earlier this month during the peaceful protest demanding justice for Breonna Taylor outside the house of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.
    Jul 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – The cast members of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reportedly will soon return to film new season. However, it seems like Porsha Williams will join the others later as it is said that she needs to quarantine herself for 2 weeks after she joined a Breonna Taylor protest.
TheJasmineBrand reports that Porsha is not allowed to return to set before she’s done self-quarantining for 14 days. The Bravo personality needs to take the measure after she protested in Louisville, KY earlier this month while demanding justice in Breonna’s case which led to her arrest.
Porsha and more than 100 others were arrested during the peaceful protest outside the house of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who had been slammed for taking no action against the police involved in her death. Also being taken into custody at the time were rapper Trae tha Truth and “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Yandy Smith.
Following her arrest, Porsha’s sister took to Instagram to heap praises for the mother of one. “She has always been fearless. You mess with her people, you mess with her. She takes the case of #breonnataylor personally and she’s sacrificing work, time with her loved ones, and her comfort to make sure the offenders are held accountable for their actions,” so she said. “This is her passion, this is her purpose. God please protect them.”
Porsha has been very vocal about social justice and has addressed that she’s following her grandfather, Rev. Hosea Williams, legacy. Her grandfather used to work alongside Martin Luther King Jr. as a pioneer in the Civil Rights Movement.
Meanwhile, upcoming season 13 of “RHOA” will not feature Eva Marcille, who announced her exit back in June. Eva, who joined the show for two seasons, explained at the time, “I have a six-year-old daughter and two young boys still in diapers. They’re 24-hours a day, and there’s a lot of work to be done. So I decided to spend my time and energy focusing on my kids and my community, and not so much reality show business.”
