    Instagram

The show adds the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ cast member to be one of the panelists after Tamera Mowry announced her departure from the talk show back in July.
    Aug 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Garcelle Beauvais has been tapped to join “The Real” as a new co-host in its seventh season. The new season, which is set to kick off on September 21, will feature panelists that now include Garcelle, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon. Variety was the first to report the news.
“I am thrilled to be joining the dynamic, bold and diverse women on the award-winning talk show ‘The Real,’ ” “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member says. “My love for pop culture and news, blended with my natural gift of gab, has always made me gravitate towards a talk show environment. It’s also exciting that it’s happening right after my amazing time joining ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.”
Garcelle joins “The Real” after Tamera Mowry announced her departure from the talk show back in July. “For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve been blessed to interview have changed my life for the better,” Tamera wrote on July 13.
Sending message to her “fellow hosts,” Tamera wrote on Instagram, “I love you, I will miss you, and I will always be there for you. Thank you for teaching me, supporting me, and loving all for me. Sisters forever. I’ll be rooting for you, as I look forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities, and embarking on the next chapter of my life.”
Prior to this, Amanda Seales exited the morning talk show. “My contract is up at ‘The Real’ and I didn’t renew it, because it doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I can not, speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to. And where the people that are speaking to me in despairing ways are not being handled,” she explained her exit on Tuesday, June 2.
She went on saying, “I’m not at a space where as a full black woman I can have my voice and my co-workers also have their voices and where the people at the top are not respecting the necessity for black voices to be at the top too.”

  • Amanda Seales Left 'The Real' Because She Was Banned From Talking About Certain Things

    FOX

The ‘Insecure’ star claims she walked away from the all-female TV panel because she felt like she betrayed her people as she’s asked to avoid certain topics.
    Aug 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Amanda Seales left U.S. TV show “The Real” because it was “breaking” her spirit.
The 39-year-old actress announced in June (20) that she was leaving the daytime programme after just six months officially on the panel.
But in a conversation with comedian Godfrey on Instagram Live over the weekend (01-02Aug20), Amanda revealed the real reasons for her exit, admitting that being on the show felt like a “betrayal to my people.”
“I left The Real because it was breaking my spirit … I was being asked to not talk about certain things that felt like a betrayal to my people,” she said. “And then on top of that, I didn’t want to be somewhere that I felt like people weren’t being honest with me and where people felt scared of me because of my Black woman-ess.”
Seales illustrated her point by recalling one of her experiences on “The Real” when a white female producer was given the task of helping her put together a segment titled “Smart, Funny and Black” – a game she created to test someone’s knowledge of Black popular culture.
“I was so excited to get to play my Smart, Funny and Black game on The Real,” she said. “They assigned it to the one white woman producer, but we have three Black women producers and one Black guy producer and I was like ‘Why are you producing this?’ and she was like, ‘So and so assigned it to me,’ and I said, ‘But why would you be producing this? You’re a white woman. You don’t understand what we’re going to be talking about.’ ”
Things didn’t end well as the producer in question “went crying to someone and said I attacked her.”
“I couldn’t stay in a place like that,” she said, adding that she was also constantly receiving backlash from trolls, who used to come for her “beyond comprehension.”
Following her chat with Godfrey, Amanda took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday (05Aug20) to insist that she didn’t have any issues with her co-hosts Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Tamera Mowry-Housley, and Adrienne Houghton.
“Do not try to create some false dissension between me and the co-hosts of The Real…” she said. “What ya’ll don’t understand is grown women do grown women business. That’s what y’all don’t understand, and what I gotta do with my business ain’t got nothing to do with them sisters.”

    WENN

The 34-year-old, who used to serve as ‘The View’ co-host, shares in a new interview that she is always willing to use her skills to ‘help shows continue to grow.’
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – There may be a The Cheetah Girls reunion between Raven-Symone and her former cast-mate Adrienne Bailon. In a new interview, Raven talked about the possibility of her joining Adrienne on “The Real” after two of its co-hosts, Amanda Seales and Tamera Mowry, exited the talk show.
“There’s always conversations to be had,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “But I’m gonna stay true to what I’ve been setting goals towards during corona, and that’s to focus on my skills as a director and EP and a creator, and really take what I’ve learned in the industry and pass it along to people that are beginning.”
The 34-year-old, who used to serve as “The View” co-host, added that she would want to “help shows continue to grow.” She went on to say, “I don’t mind helping out where they need me to. As long as we’re corona safe, I’m down for the cause.” Raven also shared that she “will never say no to a cool job.”
Now that she’s a married woman, Raven noted that she wanted a job that “allows ‘me time.’ ” She explained, “I’m gonna start a family [soon] and I need to do that. I want to make sure I’m getting into a job position that allows ‘me time,’ because let’s not forget how demanding that job was before corona, and I’m sure it’s demanding now.”
While admitting that it was “egotistical,” Raven added, “The demand that’s needed for me in the jobs that I’ve been in, have taken my life to where I have not had a personal life. It is morning to night, ‘We need you. We need you. We need you.’ And I’m like, I’m trying to cuddle.”
As for plan to have kids with wife Miranda Maday, Raven said, “I mean we just got married. Everyone talks about it then, right?”

Raven and Miranda exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in June and took to Instagram on Thursday, June 18, 2020 to share the news and a few photos with fans. “So something happened this week, that has changed my life FOR THE BETTER!” Raven wrote.
“I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home,” she revealed beside a follow-up snap of the happy couple on its wedding day. “I love you Mrs. Pearman-Maday! Let’s tear this world a new a**hole!!! I’s married NOW (sic). Thank you to all those who helped and for those who understand why it was small during this time.”

The friendships I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve been blessed to interview have changed my life for the better,” Tamera wrote in her message, even though she explained in the caption that she actually “had NO intention to talk about this today, especially in light of the news of my dear friend Naya, but now some reports are coming out and I’d rather you hear it from me first.”
“I’m so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy,” she went on. “However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s with a bittersweet smile that I announce that I am moving on from The Real.”

'The Real': People Cracking Up Over Amanda Seales' Expression When Loni Love Is Crying

    FOX

In the episode, The TV host can’t help but cry as she talks about the fact that many African Americans suffer from obesity-related illnesses due to lack of proper nutrition.
    Mar 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Loni Love got emotional in the Thursday, March 5 episode of “The Real”. The TV host couldn’t help but cry as she talked about the fact that many African Americans suffer from obesity-related illnesses due to lack of proper nutrition.
“Let me tell y’all. I did not know how to eat. Growing up in the projects, we just had to eat what we could,” Loni explained through tears to the other co-hosts and audience. “I know it sounds funny, but a lot of women in African-American communities-we don’t know how to eat.”
” ‘Cause we grew up that way. So I’m trying to tell y’all-thank you to WW, because we want to do this to help our brothers and sisters,” she continued. “But I see y’all. I see y’all at my comedy shows and you’re like, ‘We need to get healthier,’ and that’s the reason we’re doing this. It’s just to make y’all aware of what’s happening in the community. You can eat and not starve and you can still lose weight. That’s the reason we’re doing this.”
During the emotional moment, co-host Amanda Seales was caught sporting a rather hilarious facial expression. The actress/activist could be seen looking awkward and fans were digging it.

“Sorry, but Amanda’s reaction/facial expression when Loni started crying…. No shade… I’m happy for Loni. She looks good and her makeup/hair is on point!” one fan commented on the particular moment. “Amanda face when Loni started crying yo. Amanda was confused as hell,” another added. Meanwhile, someone suggested that it wouldn’t be long before Loni will get upset with Amanda.
However, some others didn’t think that Amanda made such facial expression in response to Loni recalling her struggle. “I do not think Amanda made a face because loni was crying. I think it was the fact that she said they did not know how to eat, i find that hard to relieve, because from i was thirteen years i remember a teacher telling us in school about carbohydrates and eating to much of it, she said it was for people that were doing alot of physical activity and about fats, if you could not afford it that a different thing,” one person tried to share her opinion.
“But lack of knowledge l do not think so. And i am from a thirdworld country, so i would think they would mention it in American schools at some point. That is y after i left my parent’s home i stop eating rice and yam every day. Someone tell me if i am wrong,” the person concluded.

Jennifer Lahmers Defends Herself After Seemingly Pissing Off 'The Real' Hosts

    Instagram

The ‘Extra’ host insists she only did her job as a correspondent when she decided to bring up the arguments between co-hosts Amanda Seales and Jeannie Mai.
    Feb 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lahmers responded to criticisms following her awkward guest-hosting appearance on “The Real” recently. She was accused of trying to pit Amanda Seales against co-host Jeannie Mai by bringing up their alleged feud. She additionally got on Seales’ nerves for calling her “a newbie.”
“Humble yourself,” Lahmers wrote on Instagram. She insisted she did nothing wrong, “I wouldn’t change a thing about the way I conducted that interview – addressing a topic that had made numerous headlines across multiple outlets.” She added, “This is my job as a correspondent. I did not keep pressing once I got an answer and that is all I will say on the matter.”
Lahmers was originally cut off by Seales when she said Seales and Mai “butted heads.” As Lahmers persisted on the topic, Mai suggested the “Extra” host confused herself between “butting heads” and “having a difference of opinion.” Mai added, “When I butt heads, there’s only going to be one head standing and as you can see, we’re still here.”
Earlier on the show, Lahmers excluded Seales when she congratulated the show for its 1,000th episode. “1,000 episodes. Does it feel like it’s six seasons, already?” she said before turning to Seales with offhanded comment, “I mean not for you because you’re a newbie.”
Seales played it cool as she said to the camera, “But I been in this game for a long time.” Co-host Loni Love comforted her, giving her a nod of approval and holding her hand. Meanwhile, Lahmers just brushed it off with a laugh and continued with her chatters.

'The Real' Co-Host Amanda Seales Goes Off on 'Extra' for Bringing Up Jeannie Mai Rumored Feud

    Warner Bros. Television

That is not the only time that Jenn Lahmers appears to piss Seales off in an interview with other ‘The Real’ co-hosts as she calls her ‘newbie’ while talking about the daytime talk show hitting its 1000th episode.
    Feb 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Real” co-hosts were celebrating for the show’s 1000th episode and stopped by “Extra TV” for an interview with Jenn Lahmers. As they talked about the exciting milestone that the daytime talk show hit, things went well during the interview. However, that changed after Lashmers brought the topic of alleged tension between Amanda Seales and fellow co-host Jeannie Mai up to the discussion.
At one point, Lashmers pointed out to Seales, “You and Jeannie have butted heads on a couple of topics…,” before Seales quickly cut her off . “Have we? Stop… No because you know what…,” Seales snapped.
“It comes with the territory, right?” Lashmers continued to ask, to which Seales responded, “That’s not the territory we’re coming from. We’re not butting heads. And I think it’s very, very important, especially at a table of diverse women….” Mai agreed and encouraged Seales to continue explaining, saying, “Say it.”
“…to very clearly delineate the difference between having a difference of opinion than butting heads. You’ll know when I’m butting heads because when I butt heads, there’s only going to be one head standing and as you can see, we’re still here,” Seales added. Seales and Mai then quietly toasted one another.

That was not the only time that Lashmers appeared to piss Seales off. Earlier in the interview, Lashmers said, “1,000 episodes. Does it feel like it’s six seasons, already?..I mean not for you because you’re a newbie.” Seales looked at the camera and deadpanned, “But I been in this game for a long time.” Co-host Loni Love could also be seen assuring Seales by holding Seales’ hands and giving her a nod of approval.
