He launched AstroWorld as a tribute to the amusement park of the same name that was located across the street from the current festival grounds, which Scott attended as a child.

In 2019, the festival became the largest single-day, artist-curated music festival in America, as well as the largest music festival in Scott’s native Houston.

Previous invitees have included Post Malone, Pharrell Williams, Lil Wayne, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Tickets for this year’s festival will go on sale next week (May 5). A portion of proceeds will benefit Scott’s nonprofit organization, Cactus Jack Foundation, which aims to provide educational access and creative resources for youth in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

Scott himself has teased his plan in releasing his latest studio album, “Utopia,” in 2021. In October 2020, the ex-boyfriend of Kylie Jenner tweeted, “AFTER THIS TWEET IMMA THROW MY PHONE. Instagram

The leaks aside, fans who have heard the songs totally love the tracks as one gushes, ‘brooooo if they’re taken out of the album I’ll be so disappointed, they’re both fire.’

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Fans who are waiting for Travis Scott (II)’s next studio album, “Utopia”, seemingly are spoiled. It has been reported that multiple songs from the Grammy nominee’s next project leaked on Spotify.
Among the songs that popped up on the streaming platform were “Vision” and “Niagara Falls”. Both were now removed from Spotify, though it was not before a lot of fans heard listened to the them.
“Apparently someone hacked Travis Scott and it’s releasing leaks on his streaming platforms,” one Twitter user reported on Tuesday, January 12. The person also attached two screenshots of the song on the app.
The leak aside, fans who had heard the songs totally loved the tracks. “brooooo if they’re taken out of the album I’ll be so disappointed, they’re both fire,” one fan gushed. “Vision is actually just looped but niagara falls is the whole song, I hope he releases them soon tho and they are both in the album,” another fan echoed the sentiment.

Meanwhile, someone noted that “there’s a solid full-length ‘Niagara Fall’ leak on SoundCloud that I’ve been listening to since October.” Hoping that the “ASTROWORLD” musician kept those songs on his next album despite the leak, another person said, “Both great but if they get taken off an album now :(.”
As for the album, Travis previously teased that it might contain a collaborative song between him and Roddy Ricch. The latter took to Instagram back in December to share an image that read, “WELCOME TO UTOPIA.” He also wrote, “@travisscott wya foo, I’m here.” Travis also posted the photo to his own story, adding moon and mountain emojis.
Travis further showed his excitement in releasing the new album sometime this year. “AFTER THIS TWEET IMMA THROW MY PHONE,” he tweeted. “IM TURNT. F**K I LOVE YALL SO MUCH. THIS SONG MAKE WE WANNA JUST RUN THREW A WALL AND PUKE !!!!! GOING TO GO COOK UP AND BUILD THESE WALLS FOR UTOPIA. SEE YOU GUYS SOON.”
“Thank you for always rocking with me and the whole Cactus gang,” the ex of Kylie Jenner continued. “Your support is beyond appreciated and doesn’t go unnoticed. Hope you and your families are staying safe in these times and I look forward to going up with you once everyone is back. Thank you again! For all of the support and see you guys in 2021 in UTOPIA!!”

Released on September 25, the song opens with 19.4 million U.S. streams and 98,000 units sold in its first week, according to Nielsen Music.

  • Travis Scott Accidentally Plays Music for Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet' During Interview

    GQ Magazine/Adrienne Raquel

The ‘Butterfly Effect’ rapper has recorded a track for the upcoming movie starring John David William and Robert Pattinson and described the film as ‘very fire’ in a magazine interview.
    Aug 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Travis Scott has secretly penned music for Christopher Nolan’s new spy epic “Tenet”.
The “Butterfly Effect” hitmaker unintentionally revealed the song during an interview with a reporter for GQ magazine at his office, by playing it to them by mistake.
The interviewer confirmed it was a track for the film, known as “Travis mix 16”, that they describe as a “brain-liquefying trip through time and space.”

Nolan also confirmed Scott is working on the track, telling GQ about the rapper’s contribution over email, “His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle. His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism (composer) Ludwig Goransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”
Scott has seen the mysterious movie starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki, which was due for release in July (20), but will now debut in the U.K. on 26 August.
“I can’t even explain it,” Scott says of the film. “You literally just have to watch it. It’s very fire.”
Few details of the film are known to those outside its production team and cast, but it is believed to be an espionage caper featuring time travel.

  • Travis Scott Responds to T-Pain Claiming He Fell Asleep During Studio Session: 'I Was Blasted'

    WENN

T-Pain previously went viral after he revealed that the ‘Sicko Mode’ rapper fell asleep when he ‘started going in about how I do production’ during their joint session.
    Jul 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Travis Scott (II) is setting the record straight. Following T-Pain’s claims that stated he fell asleep during their joint studio session, the “Sicko Mode” hitmaker denied the accusation in the latest episode of his radio show “.Wav”.
Telling what exactly happened at the time, the rapper stressed that he was just perpetually high during their joint session, “So I went to the stu, I think I was playing some joints. I played some of “Astroworld”. Like letting him know where I was at. I think he started playing some joints. At the end of the day, I’m blasted.”
Travis continued explaining, “So I wasn’t sleeping in the stu. I don’t know if he thought I was asleep. Bro, I was blasted.” He also made it clear that he doesn’t have any bad blood with T-Pain despite the latter’s claims, saying that it was “all love.” The “Wash Us in the Blood” rapper even went into a mix heavily featuring the “Jerry Sprunger” spitter.
T-Pain made the claims during his Twitch stream earlier this month, recalling the time when he was inspired to make some beats after hearing “Astroworld” tracks. “I started going in about how I do production. The whole time I’m looking at my computer. … Then I turned around. Everybody in the room [was] f**king asleep. Knocked the f**k out,” the winner of “The Masked Singer” season one said. “Travis is also somehow asleep standing up. Don’t know-how. Can’t f**king tell you. Don’t know what the f**k happened. Bro, I was only talking for like three or four minutes.”
His story quickly went viral, with a lot of people standing up for T-Pain. However, the rapper later let it be known that he didn’t hold grudges against Travis. “Come on y’all,” he said. “It ain’t that serious. S**t happens all the time. Me and @trvisXX cool.”

Travis Scott Honors Pop Smoke With Snippet of Unreleased Collaboration

    Instagram

The new snippet follows the ‘Highest in the Room’ rapper and the late hip-hop star’s collaboration ‘Gatti’ that peaked at No. 69 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
    Feb 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Travis Scott (II) has his own way in paying tribute to Pop Smoke. Hours after his “Gatti” collaborator was gunned down in what appears to be a home invasion robbery, the “Highest in the Room” hitmaker honored the slain rapper by sharing a snippet of their unreleased song.
Taking to Instagram Story on the same day of Smoke’s tragic passing, Scott uploaded a video of him driving while the track, which reportedly supposed to be his second collaboration with the slain rapper, played in the background. Near the 15-second clip, the word “Dior” could be heard being repeated, which might refer to a bonus track in Smoke’s 2019 album “Meet the Woo Vol. 1”.
    [embedded content]
Scott joined forces with Smoke in 2019 for “Gatti” which is featured on the “Sicko Mode” rapper’s project with his Cactus Jack labelmates Sheck Wes and Don Toliver titled “JACKBOYS”. The track was co-written by Smoke, and peaked at No. 69 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, making it the slain MC’s first entry on the chart.
    [embedded content]
Smoke was shot and killed on Wednesday, February 19, morning. The 20-year-old rapper, whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, was at his home in the Hollywood Hills, California when two intruders broke into the property wearing masks and hoodies. They reportedly fired multiple shots before fleeing on foot.
It is still unclear whether the “Welcome to the Party” spitter knew the shooters, but he was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood. The suspects remain free and have not been identified yet, although police have arrested and released one man.
Since news of Smoke’s tragic passing broke out, other hip hop artists have taken to social media to mourn the loss. Nicki Minaj shared a photo of the young rapper with a caption that read, “The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.” 50 Cent, in the meantime, wrote in his tribute, “R.I.P to my man Pop Smoke, No sympathy for winners. God bless him.”
Snoop Dogg put out a clip of their performance together. “Young tycoon gone2soon had a blast wit ya,” he wrote alongside the video. “c u when I get there.” Chance the Rapper, on the other hand, tweeted, “Rest Up Pop Smoke, you were too young. God Bless and comfort your family. What a crazy trajectory you were on man smh.”
