I'm A Celeb Beverley Callard's hubby shares secret wedding plans on Loose Women

Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard is in for a massive shock when she leaves the I’m A Celebrity castle as her husband Jon McEwan plans to marry her again.

Jon appeared on Loose Women on Monday afternoon to tell Andrea McLean, Brenda Edwards, Linda Robson and Judi Love about his plans for a surprise ceremony to renew his vows with Bev.

Jon, who has been married to the Liz McDonald actress for 10 years, revealed his secret plans live on the ITV daytime show.

The couple had a huge white wedding with 22 bridesmaids back in 2010, but Jon wants a smaller do with 10 to 15 guests this time round.

Speaking to the loose ladies via video call, Jon said: “What she’s gone through with the operations and everything, I just thought if she can get through this, she can do anything.

“She couldn’t walk properly three months ago.

“Bev doesn’t know that I’ve been secretly planning a wedding renewal ceremony but we’re almost there, Covid permitting.

He added: “We’ve been through so much together so I think we should reaffirm our love.”

Host Andrea asked Jon to look down the camera and talk to Beverley as if she watching the ITV daytime show.

Opening his heart, Jon said: “Beverley, I love you. You were a queen before you walked in the castle and wherever you’re going, we’ll do it together.”

Jon is Beverley’s fourth husband. She was first wed to Paul Atkinson in 1974 and two years later, they had daughter Rebecca.

In 1980, she married David Sowden and in 1989 she wed Steve Callard. They had son Josh.

During her stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, Bev has had to eat fermenting fruit and tofu and been showered with cockroaches, crickets, mealworms and maggots.

Talking about her time in Gwrych Castle so far, Jon said: “She’s doing great. She wouldn’t believe how great she’s doing.

“The doctors said she couldn’t do I’m A Celebrity if it was in Australia due to her hip operation so the UK was perfect.”

Drummer Jon went on to reveal that his wife has a secret sign for her family, but he thinks she’s forgotten all about it as he’s only seen her do it once.

He explained: “Her sign is to twiddle to her hair. She told my mum, the kids and me about it but I think she’s forgotten about it.

“We’ve only seen her do it in the first episode.”

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
