Real Housewife Hanna Miraftab admits she found pregnancy during lockdown 'hard'

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Hanna Miraftab dropped some bombshell news during the first episode of season 12, revealing she is expecting her first child with husband, Martin Kinsella.

The dentist, who is six months pregnant, recently admitted she was over the moon to be expecting her first child after conceiving during the lockdown period.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Hanna admitted she found being pregnant during the coronavirus lockdown difficult – but admits she wouldn’t change any part of it.

The soon-to-be mum said of her pregnancy: “I’ve been absolutely fine, I’ve had the normal things of being tired, I’ve been a bit more emotional than usual but generally, it’s been quite good.”

After it was revealed that hospital appointments are restricted so only the expecting-mum can go to scans, Hanna and Martin opted to visit a private clinic so they could both share the experience.

She said: “I think the very first scan that I had, obviously the hospital weren’t allowing parents in, which I think as a first time parent – that was quite hard really.

“You want your other half with you, especially with it being the first scan, ever.”

The Cheshire dentist will be documenting her pregnancy journey for viewers

She went on to say: “Myself and Martin, we were quite lucky because we booked a private scan so that we could go to that very first one together.

“It is weird and the hospital appointments, even though at my 20-week scan they allowed both of us in, my actual appointments with the midwives, I’ve had to do that all by myself. It’s hard, it’s not nice.”

Hanna, who shares her life with her co-stars and viewers on the hit reality show, announced her exciting news to her pals but admits it was difficult due to social distancing guidelines.

“The very first thing you want to do, naturally, after telling someone news like that is kiss and hug each other but we couldn’t, so it was Covid kisses and hugs from a distance.

“It’s really strange, it doesn’t feel natural,” she said.

The brunette bombshell also revealed that there is one part of her pregnancy that viewers will not be seeing.

“The viewers will be seeing parts of my pregnancy journey which I think is lovely, it documents it for us forever and not many people get that.

The Cheshire housewife believes that coronavirus has seen the cast come together and forget about disagreements

“You do certain things during pregnancy and you don’t really film that, I think it’s really lovely.”

Hanna added: “I’ve had a firm word with our production and our director and said ‘those cameras will not be coming in while I’m pushing!'”

The eight housewives are famous for their feuds on the show, with stern words often being thrown about, but Hanna believes the coronavirus lockdown has made the cast treasure their friendship.

“I think in light of the pandemic and everything that’s happened, I really do feel like we have had a very positive series and it’s quite uplifting,” she said.

She added: “When you take that [coronavirus] into consideration, the petty little arguments and disagreements almost become irrelevant.

“It’s definitely put things into perspective for a lot of people.”
