Sia shows support for 'victim' Johnny Depp and claims Amber Heard 'needs help'

Sia shocked her 3.8 million followers on Friday when she took to Twitter to share her opinion about Hollywood actor Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Sia, 44, revealed she believes Amber, who accused Johnny of being a “wife beater”, was in fact herself abusing him during their volatile marriage, which has seen them both take legal action against one another.

The Australian singer posted a YouTube video of an apparent conversation between Amber and Johnny, which was entitled: “Amber Heard & Johnny Depp: The Real ABUSER FINALLY REVEALED!! classic borderline behavior on her part.”

Sia then followed it up with a tweet which read: “Just showing my public support for Johnny Depp. I mean, I’d love him to get clean and stop with the jewelry, but he is clearly the victim after hearing those tapes (sic).”

An hour later, she tweeted: “Also @elonmusk didn’t you give her the seven million she “donated” from her settlement?

“She still came out seven million richer. Why are you protecting her? She will never get the help she needs if we all stay silent!”

The basis for Sia’s alleged show of support for Depp has not been made clear.

Daily Star Online has contacted Sia’s reps for comment.

Sia’s followers were quick to respond to her tweets, with many people asking her to delete them.

Johnny, 57, is suing Amber for £39 million for defamation US after she made allegations against him.

In December 2018 she referred to him as a “wife beater” in an article she wrote in the Washington Post.

Johnny claims the article cost him a role in Disney’s reboot of Pirates of the Caribbean, even though he was not mentioned in it by name.

Amber is counter-suing Johnny for £74 million, accusing him of “orchestrating a false and defamatory smear campaign” against her.

It was recently confirmed that his lawsuit against Amber has been pushed back and delayed further.

Dad-of-two Johnny had asked for the date to be moved back due to his filming commitments, but it was the coronavirus pandemic that influenced the final decision on the date.

The Edward Scissorhands actor has repeatedly denied allegations of physical abuse, and alleges Amber was abusive in their marriage – claims which she denies.

Johnny is also suing News Group Newspapers Ltd and executive editor Dan Wootton for defamation in relation to a 2018 article that was published in The Sun newspaper and referred to the Hollywood star as a “wife beater”, judgement is awaited in that case.
