Emmerdale fans joke villagers have 'super hearing' after eavesdropping blunder

Emmerdale fans were left distracted during a tense exchange between Eric and Faith.

The former couple were discussing their almost-tryst a few weeks ago, with Pollard telling Faith that Brenda is a big part of his life now.

But Eric’s partner Brenda, and Faith’s beau Bear, both appeared on the scene as they chatted, and appeared to hear what was going on – from a fair distance away.

But eagle-eyed fans weren’t letting the blunder go.

“Does everybody in #Emmerdale have super hearing?” one baffled fan wrote on social media.

Another wondered: “How can Bear and Brenda hear that far?”

Someone else wrote: “More eavesdropping!” while another predicted: “Brenda is gonna get the wrong end of the stick.”

“Brenda knows about Eric and Faith’s little tryst the other week!” someone else gasped.

Later in the episode, Bear confronted Faith about her potential affair.

“So I’m jealous?” Bear asked, as Faith denied everything and suggested she’d been trying to steal some linen.

“I only have eyes for one bloke around here,” she insisted. “You dragged me in here because you thought I was seducing Eric?”

And meanwhile, Brenda and Eric chatted through what had happened.

“I know you think I’m paranoid, but I saw you talking to Faith outside the pirate ship and I want to know what’s going on,” Brenda said. “Do I have something to be worried about?”

“You mean the world to me,” Eric promised her.

But while the villagers might have had super hearing, viewers certainly weren’t impressed with their peripheral vision – as Jimmy and Nicola didn’t notice Juliette entering their home unannounced.

“No one seems to have any peripheral vision in these soaps,” one fan quipped with a cry-laughing emoji.

Someone else wondered: “How do you just walk into someone’s house and how did Jimmy and Nicola not see her?”

“Nicola and Jimmy need to get to Specsavers for a sight and hearing test as their peripheral vision and hearing is ‘goosed’! Not noticing [Juliette] just waltzing in!” a third wrote.

Jimmy railed at Juliette to “get out now!”, and they took the argument to the street.

“You’re the one who walked in like you own the place!” he screamed – frightening little Carl, who he snapped at to “go to his room”.
