Emmerdale hunk Danny Miller admits he wasn't going to take I'm A Celebrity offer

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has revealed the reason why he decided to join this year’s I’m A Celeb line-up and confessed that he initially wasn’t going to take the offer.

The iconic performer who is known for playing Aaron Dingle in the long-running soap admitted that he was encouraged by his fiancee Steph to take part in the popular reality show.

Speaking openly on podcast Actonthis.TV, Danny, 30, said: “I had been offered a job offer that I wasn’t going to take, and that was the first time in my life.

“And it wasn’t till Steph sat me down and said ‘do it!'”

He then went on to speak about the conversation he had with Steph and the opportunities that they’ve been given throughout the time they’ve been together.

The actor continued: “She actually said ‘think back to when we were in school and we first met, like do you think either of us would be in the position that we are in now and do you think either of us would have had this opportunity we’ve got now?’

“You know, I think that was what made me think you’re right.”

The star also told the presenter on the podcast that Steph reassured him and let him know that she had everything under control while he was getting stuck into the activities in Gwrych Castle.

Steph and Danny recently welcomed their first son Alber together in October.

But although he felt reluctant to leave her alone with their newborn, Steph wanted to make sure he took the reality gig.

Danny continued: “I’m glad I didn’t say no all them months ago and override her decsion from what she said.

Danny has played Aaron Dingle for 13 years in Emmerdale

“She said ‘I want you to do it, so do it for me and do it for Albert’, which made me go ‘I’m doing it’ because otherwise, I wouldn’t have done it,'” he confessed.

Since it was revealed that Danny would be appearing on this year’s series of I’m A Celeb which will return to screens on Sunday, he also broke the news that he has now quit Emmerdale after appearing on the soap for thirteen years.

Talking to Mirror at a press round table, the star said: “I’d like to think that I’m very, very far away from Aaron and that’s part of the reason why I wanted to do this show.

“I’ve actually left Emmerdale, unfortunately, and I’ve decided to start a new path in life.

“I’ve got my baby now and I’m getting married next year and it’s felt like the right time to open a new chapter in my life – god, my nerves are going because I’ve not really told anybody!”

I’m A Celebrity stars on ITV and ITV Hub on Sunday at 9pm
