Julia Stiles, 40, confirms she's pregnant with second child as she debuts baby bump

American actress Julia Stiles has confirmed she is pregnant with her second child.

The 10 Things I Hate About You and Bourne Identity film star attended the screening for A24’s The Humans wearing a thick turtleneck midi black dress with long sleeves.

She placed her hand to cradle her bump to put it proudly on show.

Julia, 40, paired her dress with simple yet classic black high-heeled ankle boots and a black clutch bag to go with her natural make-up and pink lip.

The Hollywood star has been married to her husband, camera assistant Preston Cook since 2017 and shares one son with him, Strummer Newcomb Cook, aged 4.

Julia and Preston met one another on the set of the 2015 thriller Blackway before announcing their engagement in 2016 and having what she described as a “shotgun” wedding whilst she was pregnant. This will be their second child together.

Since giving birth to her first child, Strummer, Julia has not been daunted by the occasional trolls shaming parents on social media.

Julia responded to criticism over her placement of her son in a carrier in December 2017 with an Instagram post.

She wrote: “It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly.

“Wow, I didn’t expect that. What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother.

“That’s the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from “Little Shop of Horrors”. I was trying to keep much of my son’s image private, including, I guess, his little feet.

“And It was just a photo taken at home, not how I normally carry him around. Thanks for the concern, anyway.

“Yes, Mothers, always read the safety instructions. But also, Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5 week old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record. It’s way more fun.”
