Love Island 2021 underway as ITV bosses interview contestants, says former star

Love Island beauty Georgia Harrison has revealed that bosses of the ITV2 dating show have begun recruiting sexy singletons to appear in the upcoming series.

The 26-year-old reality star has teased that she knows some of the potential contestants being interviewed to take part in the show.

Last year’s summer series of Love Island was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

ITV recently announced that the application was open for the new series.

Potential islanders have until April to apply, which suggests that filming will take place in the summer.

Speaking about the new series, Georgia told The Sun: “I’ve heard of a few people who are in the interview process and it’s just so exciting – I wish I could go back in time and be in their position again.

“I don’t want to say who because I might get into trouble for that – they might get dropped.

“It’s just friends of friends – it’s just a few people I know.”

Daily Star has approached ITV for a comment.

Show chiefs are thought to be ready to splash the cash to make sure the 2021 series can go ahead.

A show source told Daily Star: “Everyone is keen to make this happen.”

“Everyone is keen to make this happen. Strictly and Dancing on Ice have happened against the odds and they’re determined that Love Island can do the same.”

“Producers are aware that international travel will still be restricted, so they are having to plan around that.”

The source added: “They think they’ll need to fly over three times as many contestants than normal in case some of them fall ill.

Discussions around the budget are happening. It’s definitely going to be the biggest in show history.”
