Naga Munchetty has revealed the BBC has suffered a “huge loss” after a colleague announced they were leaving the broadcaster for Channel 4.

The BBC Breakfast presenter took to Twitter on Thursday (June 30) to congratulate Secunder Kermani, the BBC’s Pakistan & Afghanistan Correspondent.

Secunder was thrilled to say he was joining Channel 4 News as a foreign affairs correspondent later in the year, which meant he was leaving the BBC.

Imposter syndrome is a common phenomenon for professionals in which they feel they don’t deserve their job or aren’t good enough for it.

Laura Conder, the journalist, announced the exciting career news on Twitter back in April, where she confessed she was feeling imposter syndrome.

Laura began: “I’ve got news time” before adding: “Next month I will be joining the @BBCNews as a Journalism Researcher in News Intake. Still suffering from massive imposter syndrome about it but so incredibly happy about going into a dream role so early in my career.”

Naga gave some advice to Laura as she replied: “Hi Laura – Welcome! I also often feel imposter syndrome – It’s not so unusual – Do your best, ask for help and well done on the dream role! X.”

Earlier this month, she rushed to support her co-star Lara Lewington, the wife of Martin Lewis, after she sliced their face open in a horror injury on an electric scooter.

“As an extremely clumsy person, always wobbly on two wheels, the electric scooter ride was never going to be a good idea,” Lara wrote.

“After being cleaned up and stitched up, six days later I’m healing well, and grateful it wasn’t worse. Never again!”

“That looks so sore! Feel better. Heal soon. Sending love xx.” Naga said.
