It’s a far cry from her outgoing character on the rival soap.

For context, Kirsty, played by Natalie Gumede, was the violent ex-girlfriend of Tyrone Dobbs with the mechanic recently discovering she died of an aneurysm and was found dead in her flat.

Her mum, Alison, was married to Edwin Soames – who abused both her and Kirsty.

Alison left her awful husband and went to stay in a refuge and eventually went to stay with Tyrone, Kirsty and their daughter Ruby.

But the cycle of abuse continued as Kirsty hit Tyrone.

Tyrone actually wrongly ended up in jail for domestic abuse but Alison convinced Kirsty to tell the police the truth – that she was the one who beat him up.

The toxic relationship limped on and eventually, Alison was out of the picture and by 2017 it emerged she had moved away.

By 2021 it was confirmed she had died.

Dawn has also appeared in Corrie

Dawn has also been in The National Theatre production of Follies and a stage production of Little Shop of Horrors.

She played Jenny in the popular British sitcom Waiting For God, which ran for five series between 1990 and 1994.

Meanwhile, Dawn revealed to Inside Soap that there could be romance in the air for Walter and Pearl one day, although it’s unlikely that they’ll be rushing into becoming a couple.

She said: “It’s when you rekindle a friendship that you start to see the similarities.

“Then you start looking at people in a certain way… but they are mindful of his late wife Gloria’s memory, so they won’t rush in.

“I think Pearl’s a lady with a plan, though. When opportunity knocks, she takes it and runs with it!”

Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
