Michelle Heaton celebrates 8 months sober with incredible body transformation snaps

Michelle Heaton has wowed fans with some pictures taken before and after her stint in rehab.

The former Liberty X star booked herself into The Priory last year to battle drug and alcohol addiction, and is now celebrating a landmark eight months of sobriety.

She marked the occasion by sharing her progress with the world through an Instagram post on Sunday night, which showed her in the same pose before and after her treatment.

The first photograph shows her with a bloated face and tummy, which she reveals in the caption was the result of a “failing” liver and pancreas.

A second image from the New Year’s weekend meanwhile shows the Brit and Emmy awards winner looking in much better shape and with a healthier skin tone.

Discussing the progress and how she wants to help others to achieve the same, she wrote in the caption : “So 2021 for me was a whole load of different things. But it turned out to be the best year of my life – a life beyond my wildest dreams.

“Not only am I grateful for achieving 8 months sobriety, but my body, mind and soul has been replenished with love. I had to learn to love myself to become well again!

Michelle said that first photo was taken on the “first day” she went into The Priory on April 27, where she described being “scared” and “alone” — but also determined to “document my journey for myself”

The star added the she is now “ready to show what the body can do” with “hard work” and a “clear mind”. Michelle gave up drinking after her daily intake of alcohol and drugs saw her come “close to death”, according to The Mirror.

She told Loose Women back in September that the “first step” to recovery was the most difficult, as “it’s the hardest to admit you have a problem and that you’re powerless to drugs and alcohol”.

Michelle also told fans to “look out” for news on an upcoming project with husband Hugh Hanley designed to help people with addiction.
