The Chase fans call 'fix' as Shaun Wallace has 'worst game ever' with 10 wrong answers

The Chase fans were convinced that Shaun Wallace had “thrown the match” after he’d answers ten questions incorrectly Friday 29 July.

Contestants Andy and Carolyn had played like champions throughout with the pair both managing to ace the cash builder round and make it through to the final chase.

They were up against former barrister Shaun Wallace – who goes by the name of The Destroyer on the gameshow.

Shaun had been on fire with his answers, knocking out two other worthy opponents who were hoping to win big cash.

However, when it came to Andy and Carolyn his quick fire knowledge was put to the test.

The two players didn’t have the greatest of final rounds, with the pair only answering 13 questions correctly.

Host Bradley Walsh warned them: “We’ll need to get some push backs.”

It didn’t look like Andy and Carolyn had much hope with a middle-ground score but their combined winnings of £14,000 were not yet out of reach.

It didn’t appear to be Shaun’s day and he continued to “pass” on a number of questions that viewers claimed he could have “easily guessed”.

The ex-criminal lawyer failed to answer ten questions in total giving Andy and Carolyn and huge opportunity to claw back some vital points.

Andy was on fire with his answers, leading to the pair responding with seven correct push backs.

Luckily for the twosome, The Destroyer appeared to be having an “off day” and he was unable to come back from what proved to be a mighty defeat.

At the end of the round, Shaun admitted: “I played very, very poorly there.”

Online fans over on Twitter were not convinced by the chasers performance as they claimed Shaun had “purposely thrown the game”.

One person said: #TheChase Did Shaun let them win. He could’ve guessed a couple of those.”

A second chirped in: “FIX. #TheChase,” as a third comment read: “I think the Dark Destroyer just lets people who deserve it to win sometimes #TheChase.”

A fourth person asked: “#TheChase did Shaun throw that?”

While a fifth echoed: “Bad day at the office on The Chase. The worst performance I’ve seen from a Chaser #TheChase.”
