The Chase in major shake-up as Bradley Walsh is 'replaced' as ITV game show host

Bradley Walsh was left fuming on Sunday (January 2) as he was replaced as host of ITV game show The Chase.

Taking up Bradders’ usual spot was comedian Joe Pasquale – who couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at Bradley’s question-reading skills in a tense opening segment.

Joe kicked off the special episode of the programme by announcing: “Hello, and welcome to The Chase. I’m Bradley Walsh, TV’s luckiest man. And once again, I’ll be asking questions I can barely read – let alone understand.”

Bradley could then be heard calling for a “Cut!” on the show as he urged security to enter the studio and reclaim his rightful place.

Two members of what was presumably the audience could then be seen running on-set as Joe raced away, yelping.

But all the antics really were in good fun – as it was in aid of a special bloopers episode of The Chase, with Brad overseeing things from a recording studio to comment on the show’s most hilarious mess-ups.

He then explained: “Yes, it’s me, the real Brad. And I’m not really the director – they only let me sit in the chair if I promise not to touch anything!”

Brad could then be seen hilariously letting his fingers roam over the buttons to control the show.

Fans clearly didn’t want to see Brad gone, as they immediately took to Twitter to cry: “No one could never replace Bradley Walsh on The Chase!”

Someone else gushed: “I don’t care you could be in the worst mood but Bradley Walsh on The Chase bloopers will make you laugh so much!”

As another fan posted: “Watching #TheChase bloopers. Bradley Walsh funny bloke!”

It wasn’t long before Brad was even ‘stripping’ down to his underwear while a contestant cheekily pretended to paint him.

In the clip which wouldn’t have looked out of place in James Cameron’s Titanic, Brad stripped out of his shirt while a hunky model posed on the floor in a pair of tiny red silk boxers – posing as the comedian’s body double.

And as the blooper reel went on, Brad couldn’t resist a series of risqué jokes as he asked one player how much it would cost him to have his entire body covered in tattoos.

He joked that he wouldn’t be able to go out naked as people might mistake his genitals for an extra arm.

The Chase airs weeknights from 5pm on ITV.
