This Morning fans call for ITV host shake-up as Phil and Holly are replaced by co-stars

This Morning viewers have called for a major host shake-up – after show regulars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were replaced on air.

The famous TV duo usually present the hit daytime show on weekdays, but they have been taking a break during the school holidays.

However, they were replaced by TV stars Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson on Monday morning (April 11), and many fans were delighted to see them on their screens.

Taking to Twitter just minutes into the broadcast, one wrote: “Yes! Josie and Vernon. Please keep the presenting permanently! Or at least Fridays and all holidays.”

A second said: “Yay @Josiestweet and Vernon! Josie looking lush this morning! New hair do!”.

A fourth added: “Can we have Vernon & Josie next week please?”.

A fifth added: “What a gorgeous coupling – Josie and Vernon, the perfect pair”.

The presenters are taking a break for the Easter holidays with a new line-up announced by ITV.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have fronted the show Monday (April 4), and they are also set to cover the extra bank holiday shows on Good Friday (April 15) and Easter Monday (April 18).

Josie and Vernon will present the show from Monday, April 11 to Thursday, April 14, before Phillip and Holly will return to the helm on Tuesday, April 19.

Speaking about hosting the show, Josie said: “I still cannot believe I’ve even hosted This Morning!

“I feel very privileged, very honoured, and just can’t believe it’s happening to me. I’m very thankful to all the This Morning team for letting me come back and host.

“As for Vernon, when they said I’d be hosting with Vernon again I screamed with excitement! What a legend.”

Monday’s show saw Vernon reveal he’s up for starring in an episode of Tipping Point as they spoke to show host Ben Shephard ahead of the quiz’s 10th anniversary.
